연속강우시 산성우의 이온농도 변화에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Ion Concentration Change of Acid Rain by the Succeeding Raintall)

  • To investigate ionic characteristics of acid rain by the succeeding rainfall. bulk precipitation was collected every each 5mm rainfall from march to october 1990 at Dae Jeon area. pH, sulfate nitrate, chloride, ammonium ion was measured and analyzed. The result was as follows: 1. The weighted average pH of rain was 5.1$\pm$ 0.72(4.15~7.6) and rain pH less than 5.5 was appeared 51.3% 2. Average ion concentrations of sulfate, nitrate, chloride and ammonium ion was 125.12 $\mu$eq/l, 62.38 $\mu$eq/l, 31.95 $\mu$eq/l, 66.6 $\mu$eq/l and rates of each anions was 57%, 28.4%, 14.6% and rate of sulfate by nitrate was 2 times. 3. There is no correlations time interval of rainfall and Ion concentration change. 4. From initial to 15mm rainfall, each ion concentrations were decreased. and average concentration of pH, SO$^{-2}_{4}$, Cl ion concentration was increased in the succeeding rainfall 5. Only sulfate ion was correlated by the simple regression analysis with pH except NO$^{-}_{3}$, Cl$^{-}$ and NH$_{4}^{+}$ Cl$^{-}$ correlation coefficient was very high at the multiple regression analysis with pH. 6. Simple & multiple correlation coefficient among anions and NH$^{+}_{4}$ was very high especially N$^{+}_{4}$ and SO$^{2-}_{4}$ at simple regression analysis and SO$^{-2}_{4}$ and NO$_{3}^{-}$, Cl$^{-}$, NH$_{4}^{-}$ at multiple regression analysis.

Suppressive Effects of Divalent Cations on Self-splicing Inhibition by Spectinomycin of Group 1 Intron RNA

  • Effects of divalent cations on self-splicing inhibition by the antibiotic spectinomycin of the phage T4 thymidylate synthase intron (td) have been investigated. $Ca^{2+}$ ion at 1mM concentration suppressed splicing inhibition of spectinomycin by 10% and 50 ${\mu}M\;Co^{2+}$ ion also suppressed splicing inhibition of specinomycin by 10%. $Mg^{2+}$ ion at 6 mM concentration decreased splicing inhibition of spectinomycin by 42% while $Mn^{2+}$ ion decreased the splicing inhibition by 10%. $Zn^{2+}$ ion at 10 uM concentration lowered the splicing inhibition by spectinomycin of 15%. Of all divalent cations tested, $Mg^{2+}$ ion was the most effective in suppressing splicing inhibition by specinomycin whereas $Ca^{2+}$ ion was the least effective. The results suggest that spectinomycin may interact with specific and functional $Mg^{2+}$-binding sites within intron RNA that lead to a displacement of $Mg^{2+}$ essential for catalytic activity.

폐굴껍질을 흡착제로 한 불소폐수 처리특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Adsarption Characteristics of Fluoride Ion-Containing Wastewater by Employing Waste Oyster Shell as an Adsorbent)

  • The adsorption features of fluoride ion on the oyster shell have been investigated for the purpose of the employment of waste oyster shell as an adsorbent for the treatment of fluoride ion-containing wastewater. The major component of oyster shell was examined to be Ca with minor components of Na, Si, Mg, Al, and Fe. As the initial concentration of fluoride ion was raised, its absorbed amount was enhanced at equilibrium, however, the adsorption ratio of fluoride ion compared with its initial concentration was shown to be decreased. Also, adsorption of fluoride ion onto the oyster shell resulted in the formation of $CaF_2$ in the morphological structure of adsorbent. Kinetic analysis showed that the adsorption reaction of fluoride ion generally followed a second order reaction with decreasing rate constant with the initial concentration of adsorbate. Freundlich model agreed well with the adsorption behavior of fluoride ion at equilibrium and the adsorption reaction of fluoride ion was examined to be endothermic. Several thermodynamic parameters for the adsorption reaction were calculated based on thermodynamic equations and the activation energy for the adsorption of fluoride ion onto oyster shell was estimated to be ca. 13.589 kJ/mole.

Fenton공정과 철 이온의 전기적 산화·환원 반응을 이용한 공정에서 1,4-Dioxane을 포함하는 산업폐수 처리에 관한 연구 (Treatment of Industrial Wastewater including 1,4-Dioxane by Fenton Process and Electrochemical Iron Redox Reaction Process)

  • Treatment efficiency research was performed using Fenton process and the electrochemical process in the presence of ferrous ion and hydrogen peroxide for the industrial wastewater including 1,4-Dioxane produced during polymerization of polyester. The Fenton process and the electrochemical Iron Redox Reaction (IRR) process were applied for this research to use hydroxyl radical as the powerful oxidant which is continuously produced during the redox reaction with iron ion and hydrogen peroxide. The results of $COD_{Cr}$ and the concentration of 1,4-Dioxane were compared with time interval during the both processes. The rapid removal efficiency was obtained for Fenton process whereas the slow removal efficiency was occurred for the electrochemical IRR process. The removal efficiency of $COD_{Cr}$ for 310 minutes was 84% in the electrochemical IRR process with 1,000 mg/L of iron ion concentration, whereas it was 91% with 2,000 mg/L of iron ion concentration. The lap time to remove all of 1,4-Dioxane, 330 mg/L in the wastewater took 150 minutes with 1,000 mg/L of iron ion concentration, however it took 120 minutes with 2,000 mg/L of iron ion concentration in the electrochemical IRR process.

산림내 강우에 의한 산성 강하물의 영향 평가 (Evaluation on Effects of Acid Deposition by analysis Rainfall in the Forest)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of acid deposition by stemflow, throughfall, rainfall and $SO_{2}$ in the industrial, urban and rural areas where were affected by the acid rain areas air pollution in Pinus thunbergii than Quercus spp. forest. As the stemflow pH in industrial and urban area were lowed that of rural area, the result industrial and urban, and correlation of negative ($r=-0.9415^{**}$) between pH and EC. The concentration of acid ion by stemflow, throughfall, rainfall were high $SO_{4}^{2-}$ ion at industrial areas, especially of $NO_{3}^{-}$ ion at urban areas. The concentration of basic ion all rain fall were high $Ca^{2+},\;Na^{+}$ ion at industrial areas, but there were high $Ca^{2+}$, $Na^{+}$ ion at urban areas. The concentration of $SO_{2}$ at survey areas were high $SO_{2}$ concentration at industrial and urban areas, but there was low at rural areas. There was correlation of negative ($r=-0.8007^{**}$ between pH and $SO_{2}$ concentration at survey areas. Soil acidity was also affected by stemflow and showed sigificantly low pH in industerial and urban areas.

  • Methylobacterium organophilum을 이용하여 메탄 올로부터 고점성 다당류의 생산에 대한 질소원 이용의 통력학척 분석을 유가식 배양에서 수행하였다. 발효중 세포는 배지 중에 첨가된 질소원이 고갈된 후에도 계속 성장하였고, 에틸란은 질소원 고갈조건 하에서만 생성되였다 세포 성장은 배양초기에 첨가 한 질소원인 암모니아의 농도에 비례적으로 이루어 졌으나, 에릴란 생산은 첨가한 암모니아 농도가 $0.75g/\ell$ 이상에서는 오히려 현저하게 감소하였다. 초기 암모니아 농도가 높아질수록, 비세포중식 속도, 비산물생성 속도, 비기질소비 속도가 감소하였다. 높 은 암모니아 농도의 발효 속도들에 대한 저해작용을 감소시키기 위해, 질소원을 일정농도(암모니아 농도=$0.15g/\ell$) 이하로 유지시키면서 공급하는 유가식 배양법으로 메틸란의 농도를 $12.5g/\ell$ 까지 증가시킬 수있었다.

The Characteristic Calulation of Carboxylic Ion Exchanger.

  • A method for calculating the main characteristics of a potentiometric titration curve in a carboxylic ion exchanger has been investigated. The potentiometric titration curves of simple electrolyte and ion exchangers (polyelectrolytes) showed a great difference between them. The acidity parameters of the ion exchangers, the thermodynamic constant (pK0), apparent equilibrium constant (K), and correction for the apparent equilibrium constant (b), were introduced and used to express the characteristics of the carboxylic ion exchanger. A characteristic equation related to the acidity parameters of the ion exchangers systems was derived. A fibrous carboxylic cation exchanger was used and potentiometric titration curves at different concentrations of the supporting electrolyte were obtained . To prove the validity of the characteristic equation, the concentration of the supporting electroyte was varied. In the present study, good agreement between the data points and the fitted curves was found in all the cases. The g (number of moles of alkali to 1 g of ion exchanger) of carboxylic ion exchanger was calculated from the concentration of supporting electrolyte (C), pH of the solution, and degree of neutralization of ion exchanger (x).

법랑질표면에서 폴리아크릴산용액 농도와 황산이온 농도가 결정형성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Concentration of Polyacrylic Acid and Sulfate ion on the Cystal growth - A Topographic Study)

  • 교정장치의 직접부착을 위하여 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 산부식법의 대체가능 방법중 하나는 결정형성법이며, 폴리아크릴산과 황산이온은 결정형성액의 주요 물질로 알려져 왔다. 이 연구는 황산이온농도와 폴리아크릴산의 농도변화가 결정형성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하여 결정형성용액에 관한 기초자료를 획득하기 위하여 시행되었다. 분자량 5,000의 폴리아크릴산을 $10\%,\;20\%,\;30\%$$40\%$ 용액으로 만들고, 각각의 용액에 황산이온 농도가 0.1M, 0.2M, 0.3M, 0.5M 및 1.0M이 포함되는 총 20가지의 실험용 결정형성용액을 제조하고, 이들을 법랑표면에 60초간 반응시킨 후, 주사전자현미경 사진을 촬영하여 결정 피복도, 결정 길이 및 결정형태 분포의 균일성을 평가하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 폴리아크릴산 용액은 법랑질 표면을 경미하게 부식시켰으며, 농도에 따른 부식효과의 차이는 없었다. 2. 폴리아크릴산의 농도는 결정형성에 적은 영향을 미쳤다. 특히 $20\%-40\%$사이의 폴리아크릴산 용액은 결정형성에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 3. 황산이온 농도는 결정형성의 주요인자이다. 0.2M이상의 황산이온이 포함된 폴리아크릴산 용액에서 결정이 형성되었다. 4. $20\%\~40\%$ 폴리아크릴산 용액에 포함된 황산이온농도가 결정 피복도에 미치는 영향은 황산이온 농도가 어느한도까지 증가하면 결정 피복도도 증가하나 그 이상에서는 감소하는 경향으로 나타났다. 이 실험에서는 0.5M황산이온이 포함된 실험용액이 가장 높은 결정 피복도를 나타냈으며, 최대의 결정 피복도를 나타내는 황산이온 농도는 0.5M, 혹은 0.5M에서 1.0M사이에 있을 것으로 추정되었다. 5. 폴리이크릴산 용액내의 황산이온 농도가 증가할수록 결정길이는 작아지는 경향을 보였다. 6. 폴리아크릴산 용액내의 황산이온 농도는 결정 형태의 분포에 영향을 미친다. 황산이온의 농도가 낮을수록 spherulitic형 배열의 결정형성이 증가하고, 황산이온농도가 증가하면 무정형 배열의 결정형성이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 7 이 연구에서 가장 양호한 실험용 결정형성용액은 0.5M 황산이온이 포함된 $30\%$ 폴리아크릴산 용액이었다.

조류제거를 위한 구리이온 발생 반응기의 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Copper Ion Generator for the Removal of Algae)

  • 조류제거를 위한 구리이온을 생성하기 위한 환형 흐름 구리 전기분해 반응기 시스템을 구성하고 그 가동특성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 또한 구리이온이 조류에 미치는 영향도 살펴보았다. 인가전류를 증가하면 균등조로부터 배출되는 구리 이온 농도가 비례적으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 전류 밀도를 조절하여 원하는 구리농도를 얻을 수 있음을 알았으며 패러데이 효율은 90% 이상임을 알 수 있었다. 유량을 증가시키면 구리이온농도는 감소하였으며 이는 전극에서의 반응속도와는 상관없이 물의 증가량에 따른 희석 때문임을 알 수 있었으며 농도 과전위 영향은 미미하였다. pH가 증가할수록 생성되는 구리이온 농도는 이에 반비례하여 감소하였고 전기전도도의 변화는 배출되는 구리이온 농도에 별 영향을 미치지 않았다. 구리이온 농도가 증가시킬 경우 Chlorophyll-a 농도가 크게 감소함을 볼 수 있으며, 구리 이온 농도가 0.2 ppm 이상일 때 조류가 효과적으로 제거됨을 알 수 있다. 황산구리를 용해시킨 구리이온이나 전기분해를 통해 얻은 구리이온을 투여한 경우 별차이가 없었으며 5일 후 조류 제거효율은 0.4 ppm이상의 농도에서는 90%이상이었다.

Modeling of ion diffusion coefficient in saturated concrete

  • This paper utilizes the modified Davis model and the mode coupling theory, as parts of the electrolyte solution theory, to investigate the diffusivity of the ion in concrete. Firstly, a computational model of the ion diffusion coefficient, which is associated with ion species, pore solution concentration, concrete mix parameters including water-cement ratio and cement volume fraction, and microstructure parameters such as the porosity and tortuosity, is proposed in the saturated concrete. Secondly, the experiments, on which the chloride diffusion coefficient is measured by the rapid chloride penetration test, have been carried out to investigate the validity of the proposed model. The results indicate that the chloride diffusion coefficient obtained by the proposed model is in agreement with the experimental result. Finally, numerical simulation has been completed to investigate the effects of the porosity, tortuosity, water-cement ratio, cement volume fraction and ion concentration in the pore solution on the ion diffusion coefficients. The results show that the ion diffusion coefficient in concrete increases with the porosity, water-cement ratio and cement volume fraction, while we see a decrease with the increasing of tortuosity. Meanwhile, the ion concentration produces more obvious effects on the diffusivity itself, but has almost no effects on the other ions.
