코니칼 인볼류트 기어의 Total 설계에 관한 연구 (Study on the Total Design of a Conical Involute Gear)

  • Currently, there are many power transmission devices, including gears, friction wheels, chains, and belts. Because the power transmission of gears is most certainin these devices, gears are widely used in different power transmission fields and environments. In accordance with the gear shape, gears can be classified as cylindrical gears and conical gears. A cylindrical gear, which provides a means of power transmission under parallel axis and skewed axis conditions, contains a spur gear, a helical gear and a worm gear. A conical gear, which can be used on a skewed axis as well as parallel and crossed axes, includes a bevel gear(e.g., straight bevel, spiral bevel, hypoid gear) and a conical involute gear(or a bevel oid gear). In this paper, a conical involute gear which utilizes the fabrication method of other involute gears such as spur and helical gears using a CNC hobbing machine is discussed.

  • 본 연구에서는 동력전달용 인벌류우트 원통치차(스퍼어 및 헬리컬 기어)의 강 도 및 각종 영향인자를 충분히 고려하면서 크기를 최소로 하는 치차장치의 설계법을 개발하고, 이 설계법을 기본으로 하여 퍼스널 컴퓨터 상에서 누구나 손쉽게 설계에 이 용할 수 있는 설계 시스템을 개발하여 그 평가를 수행한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 강도의 측면에서 인벌류트 원통치차의 설계 및 성능평가를 돕 기위하여 퍼스널컴퓨터 상에서 간편히 수행할 수 있는 치차의 강도평가 시스템을 개발 한다.즉, 원통치차의 굽힘강도 및 면압강도와 이들과 관련하여 기하학적인 형상, 재질, 운전상태, 신뢰성, 안전계수 등 강도에 영향을 미치는 거의 모든 인자를 일목요 연하게 평가하고 이들이 강도에 미치는 영향을 판단할 수 있는 치차의 강도평가 과정 을 하나의 시스템으로 구성함으로써 설계현장 등에서 간편히 이용할 수 있도록 하고 최종적으로 설계의 자동화를 이룰 수 있도록 한다.

  • Forging of spur gears has been investigated by means of upper-bound method. The term forging means forging of spur gears with solid cylindrical billets, hollow billets with flat punch. Kinematically admissbile velocity field for forging of spur gears has been proposed in this study. The 1/2 pitch of spur gear has been divided into seven dieformation regions, wherein, an involute curve has been introduced to represent the shape of die profile. Especially neutral surface has been introduced intor forging of hollow gears from hollow billets. By using the kinematically admissible velocity field, the powder requirements and suitable conditions for forging fo spur gears were successfully calculated with numerical method. According to the analysis , the acceptable number of teeth for forging of spur gears is from 15 to 20.

  • In this paper, the clamping type forging of helical gears has been investigated. Clamping type forging is an operation in which the product is constrained to extrude sideways through an orifice in the container wall. Punch is cylindrical shaped. The punch compresses a cylindrical billet placed in a die insert. As a consequence the material flows in a direction perpendicular to that of punch movement. The forging has been analysed by using the upper-bound method. A kinematically admissible velocity field has been developed, wherein, an involute curve has been introduced to represent tooth profile of the gear. Numerical calculations have been carried out to investigate the effects of various parameters, such as module, number of teeth, helix angle, friction factor and initial height of billet on the forging of helical gears.

  • Automobiles and systems requiring high gear ratios and high power densities generally use worm gears. In particular, as worm gears have a small volume and self-locking function, home appliances such as refrigerators and washers consist of worm gears. We can classify worm gears into cylindrical worms and rectangular worms. According to the AGMA standard, there are four types of cylindrical worms, ZA, ZN, ZK and ZI, depending on the machining of the worm shaft. It is preferable to use a ZI-type worm shaft, which is a combination of a worm wheel having an involute helical tooth surface and a conjugate tooth surface. However, in many cases, industries mostly use ZK, ZN, and ZA worm shafts because of the ease of processing. This paper presents numerical approaches to produce ZI and ZA worm surfaces and worm wheel. For the analysis of the transmission error of a worm gear system, this study (1) generates surface profile functions of ZI profile worm gear and worm shaft based on the common rack theory, (2) adopts the Newton-Raphson method for the analysis of the gear surface contact condition, and (3) presents and compares the corresponding transmission errors of ZI and ZA worm gears.

동력전달용 치차설계 전문가 시스템 개발연구 II (Development of Expert System for Designing Power Transmission Gears (II))

  • 본 연구에서는 동력전달용 치차설계 전문가 시스템을 구축하기 위한 일단의 연구로서 먼저 동력전달용 치차의 치차파손의 원인과 대책의 진단을 위한 전문가 시스 템을 개발하였으며, 본 논문에서는 치차의 강도를 기준으로 삼아 원통치차를 설계할 수 있는 강도 기준 치차설계 전문가 시스템을 개발한다. 즉, 전문가 시스템은 치차 설계에 필요한 지식을 체계적으로 지식 베이스에 구축하며, 이를 이용하여 새로운 설 계안을 도출해 낼수 있는 추론엔진을 구성하고, 설계광정중에 변화하는 설계의 중간결 과 등을 저장하기 위한 임시작업영역을 기본요소로 구축한다. 또한 과거의 설계예를 데이터 베이스로 구축하여 설계시에 참조 할 수 있도록 하며, 새로운 치차의 설계뿐아 니라 설계되어 있는 치차의 강도평가도 할 수 있도록 한다. 전문가 시스템에 사용자 인터페이스, 설명기능, 지식획득기능 등을 추가함으로써 치차분야에 초심자라 할지라 도 개발된 전문가 시스템과의 문답식 대화를 통하여 손쉽게 치차를 설계할 수 있도록 한다.전문가 시스템을 기술하는 프로그램 언어는 PROLOG를 사용하여 퍼스널컴퓨 상 에서 구동될 수 있도록 하며, 강도평가시 많은 수치계산이 필요한 부분은 FORTRAN언어 를 사용하여 기술한 후 PROLOG와 연결(interface)함으로써 전체 전문가 시스템을 구축 한다.

헬리컬기어의 안내형 단조에 관한 상계해석 (An upper-bound analysis for the guiding type forging of helical gears)

  • In this paper, the forging of helical gears has been investigated. Punch is tooth-shaped as is the die insert. The punch compresses a cylindrical billet placed in a die insert. As a consequence the material of billet flows into the tooth region. The forging has been analysed by using the upper-bound method. A kinematically admissible velocity field has been developed, wherein, an involute curve has been introduced to represent tooth profile of the gear. Numerical calculations have been carried out to investigate the effects of various parameters, such as module, number of teeth, helix angle and friction factor on the forging of helical gears. Some forging experimentswere carried out with aluminum alloy to show the validity of the analysis. Good agreement was found between the predicted values of the forging load and obtained from the experimental results.

중공소재에 의한 스퍼어기어의 냉간단조에 관한 연구 (A Sudy on the Cold Forging of Spur Gears form Hollow Cylindrical Billets)

  • Closed-die forging of spur gears with hollow cylindrical billet has been analysed by using the upper-bound method. A kinematically admissible velocity field has been developed, wherein, an involute curve has been introduced to represent the forging die profile. In the analysis, the deformation region has been divided into nine zones. A constant frictional stress has been assumed on the contacting surfaces. Utilizing the formulated velocity field, numerical calculations have been carried out to investigate the effects of various parameters, such as module, number of teeth and friction factor, on the forging of spur gears. Hardness and accuracy of forged gears are measured. The following results have been obtained: (1) It is verified that an axisymmetric deformation zone exists between root circle and center of gear through forged gears. (2) The average relative forging pressure is predominantly dependent on the number of teeth and increases near the final filling stage as the addendum modification coefficient increases. (3) Close agreement was found between the predicted values of forging load and those obtained from experimental results.
