AN ANALYSIS ON THE LABOR/CAPITAL PRODUCTIVITY OF THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the reality of labor and capital productivity in the construction industry through an industry-level approach and to analyze the relationship between labor and capital productivity using a Cobb-Douglas production function. According to the research results, the construction industry has shown a very high capital productivity, while labor productivity has kept up a low level during the 1980s and 1990s. The reason was because of the lack of skillful construction workers and the decrease of capital. Meanwhile, the construction productivity has greatly increased since 2000 when there was no change in wages. This was because of a large inflow of low-wage foreign workers while the amount of value added has dramatically increased due to the liberalized sale price of apartment buildings. According to the analysis by the Cobb-Douglas production function, the elasticity coefficient of V/L to K/L in the construction industry had decreased from 1.1663 in the 1st period(1971-1988) to 0.4465 in the 2nd period(1989-1997), and to 0.1664 in the 3rd period(1998-2003). Such a result means that the allocation of labor has gradually increased while the allocation of capital has decreased. Moreover there was a big increase in allocation of labor after 1998 due to the excessive deterioration of capital. In conclusion, in order to raise the construction productivity and to avoid labor-intensive production methods, investment for capital should be more increased. In particular, new machinery and equipment that can actually substitute human labor in construction sites should be more developed and applied to construction sites.

우리나라 지방자치단체의 외국인직접투자 증감요인 분해 분석 (Decomposition Analysis of Regional Governments in Foreign Direct Investment Increase or Decrease)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 각 지방자치단체 등지에서 추진하고 있는 외국인직접투자 유치 정책에 기초 정보를 제공한다. 변이-비중 모형(Shift-Share Model)을 이용해 외국인직접투자 유치 실적의 증감 요인은 지역별 각 산업의 분해 요인에 따라 구조적 특징을 파악함으로써 찾을 수 있다. 분석은 2009년을 기준으로 2010년, 2011년 전국(수도권과 비수도권으로 구분)의 외국인직접투자 실적을 비교, 전산업(한국표준산업분류 중분류)에 대해 실시했다. 그 결과는 국가성장효과(NS), 산업구조효과(IM), 지역할당효과(RS)로 구분하여 외국인직접투자 증감요인을 살펴보면 2010년과 2011년 수도권, 비수도권 모두에서 국가성장효과(NS)는 음(-)의 값을 갖고 있었다. 이는 세계경기침체의 여파가 국내 경제에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났기 때문인 것으로 분석된다. 산업구조효과(IM)의 경우 수도권은 교육, 문화, 비즈니스 및 교통 등의 발달로 비수도권에 비해 서비스 산업의 발달에 유효한 환경을 가지고 있다. 특히 서비스(음식숙박, 비즈니스서비스업, 문화오락) 부문에서 그 특징을 찾을 수 있었다. 비수도권은 제조업(비금속광물, 전기전자) 등의 부문에서 산업발달의 전후방 연계효과 및 지역적 특징이 큰 역할을 한 것으로 분석된다. 그러나 지역할당효과(RS)에서는 수도권에서 제조업 분야의 금속 및 화공분야에서 경쟁력이 있는 것으로 도출되었다.

쿠르노 경쟁하의 배출권 이월 및 차입과 감축기술개발투자 (Environment R&D Incentives with Emission Banking and Borrowing in a Cournot Model)

  • 배출권 이월 및 차입은 감축기술개발투자에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 배출권거래제하에서 이월 및 차입이 허용되면 감축비용과 배출권 가격에 따라 배출권거래제 참여기업들은 현재의 감축을 미래로 또는 미래의 감축을 현재로 선택할 수 있기 때문에 배출권 이월 및 차입은 감축기술개발에 대한 대체재적인 역할을 한다. 따라서 배출권 이월 및 차입과 같은 간접감축이행수단을 허용하는 경우에는 직접감축이행수단인 감축기술개발투자에 영향을 미친다. 불완전경쟁시장에서 이러한 간접감축조치가 감축기술개발투자에 미치는 영향은 완전경쟁시장하에서와 달라질 수 있다. 왜냐하면 과점시장의 쿠르노 경쟁하에서 감축기술개발투자가 최종소비재시장의 균형에 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문이다. 분석 결과, 배출권 이월 및 차입으로 인한 감축기술개발투자 유인 수준은 감축비용, 할인계수, 초기무상할당, 감축기술개발투자효과 등에 의존한다.

계절.시간대별 차등 전기요금의 동태적 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dynamic Optimization of Time-Of-Use Electricity Rates)

  • 본 연구는 전력계통이 3개의 발전기로 구성되었고, 요금적용 시간대가 3개인 경우 동태적 최적화를 이용한 최적 가격 및 투자 정책을 도출하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 최대원리법(Maximum Principle)을 이용하였으며, 종전에는 수요함수에서 고려되지 않았던 교차가격 탄력성을 수요함수에 포함시켰다. 분석 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있다. 첫째, 설비가 충분한 경우 각 시간대의 최적 가격은 단기한계비용과 일치한다. 그러나 시간이 경과함에 따라 수요증가에 의하여 설비제약이 활성화되면 각 시간대의 가격은 설비비를 포함하는 장기한계비용 형태를 띄게 된다 둘째, 각 시간대에 있어서 발전기의 설비비의 분담은 요금적용 시간대의 길이에 의하여 영향을 받는다. 즉, 해당 시간대의 요금적용 시간대가 길어지면 길어질수록 해당시간대에 대응되는 설비의 설비비 분담은 감소하고, 짧아지면 질수록 설비분담은 높아지게 된다. 셋째, 동태적 분석에서의 설비투자는 기본적으로 각 시간대의 수요증가율과 같은 비율로 증가하며, 또한 신규설비 투자규모는 각 시간대의 투자설비를 서로 분담하게 된다.

주식시장국면 예측과 투자전략에 대한 연구 (A Study on Stock Market Cycle and Investment Strategies)

  • Purpose - This study investigates the performance of investment strategies incorporating estimated stock market cycle based on a lead-lag relationship between business cycle and stock market cycle, thereby deriving empirical implications on risk management. Design/methodology/approach - The data period ranges from June 1953 to September 2022 and de-trended short rate, term spread, credit spread, stock market volatility are considered as major input variables to estimate business cycle and stock market cycle by applying probit model. Based on the estimated stock market cycle, two types of strategies are constructed and their performance relative to the benchmark is empirically examined. Findings Two types of strategies based on stock market cycle are considered: The first strategy is to long(short) on stocks when stock market stage is expected to be an expansion(a recession), and the second one is to long on stocks(bonds) when expecting an expansion(a recession). The empirical results show that the strategies based on stock market cycle outperforms a simple buy and hold strategy in both in-sample and out-of-sample investigation. Also the out-of-sample evidence suggests that the second strategy which is in line with asset allocation is more profitable than the first one. Research implications or Originality The strategies considered in this study are based on the estimated stock market cycle which only depends on a few easily available financial variables, thereby making easier to establish such a strategy. It implies that investors enhance investment performance by constructing a relatively simple trading strategies if they set their position on stocks or choose which asset class to buy conditioning on stock market cycle.

미래 자동차 분야 국가연구개발사업의 주요 연구 토픽과 투자 동향 분석: LDA 토픽모델링을 중심으로 (Exploring Key Topics and Trends of Government-sponsored R&D Projects in Future Automotive Fields: LDA Topic Modeling Approach)

  • 글로벌 자동차 산업은 연결, 자율주행, 공유, 전동화 등의 주요 방향 아래 지속적으로 발전하고 있으며, 국내 자동차 산업 또한 기존의 전통적인 자동차 부품 제조로부터 미래 트렌드에 부합하는 전략적인 업의 전환을 꾀하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2013년부터 2021년까지 산업통상자원부에서 지원한 미래 자동차 분야 연구개발 과제를 대상으로 토픽 모델링을 수행하였다. 해당 기간을 3개 기간으로 구분하여 주요 토픽의 변화를 분석하였다. 센서와 통신, 운전자 보조 기술, 배터리 및 전력 기술은 전 기간 동안 지속적인 주요 토픽으로 나타났으며, 고강도 경량 차체와 같은 주제는 1기에서만 관찰되었다. 한편, AI, 빅데이터, 수소 연료전지와 같은 주제는 2기와 3기에 점점 더 중요한 토픽으로 부상하였다. 또한, 토픽별 정부 투자액과 투자 증가율을 기준으로 각 기수별 집중 투자 분야를 분석하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 향후 자동차 분야의 정책 수립 및 연구개발 전략 마련 시 기초 자료로 활용될 것으로 예상되며, 증거 기반의 정책 수립과 결정에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

배출권 가격 불확실성을 고려한 고효율 쿡스토브 보급사업 실물옵션 연구 (Real Option Study on Cookstove Offset Project under Emission Allowance Price Uncertainty)

  • 배출권거래제 2차 계획기간(2018~2020년)부터 '국내기업 등이 외국에서 직접 시행한 CDM 사업'의 감축실적을 할당대상업체가 사용할 수 있게 되었다. 이에 시장의 이해관계자들은 한계비용이 낮으면서 많은 양의 배출권을 확보할 수 있는 '고효율 쿡스토브 보급사업'과 같은 해외 CDM 사업을 적극 추진하고 있다. 본 논문은 실물옵션 방법론을 활용하여 '고효율 쿡스토브 보급사업' 대한 외부사업자의 투자의사결정 모형을 개발하였다. 그리고 배출권 가격 불확실성하에서 '고효율 쿡스토브 보급사업'의 최적투자분기점(p) 도출 및 민감도 분석을 시행하였다. 그 결과 기준시나리오(PoA-S)에서의 최적투자분기점은 29,054원/톤으로 현재 배출권 현물 가격(pspot)보다 낮아 고효율 쿡스토브 보급사업은 경제성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 할당대상업체는 CDM 사업 추진 시 경제성뿐 아니라, 본 논문에서 분석한 투자유치국의 비재생 바이오매스 비율, 쿡스토브 교체 비율, 지분율, 사업기간 및 해외 외부사업 배출권의 사용 한도와 같은 위험요소도 고려하여 의사결정을 해야 한다. 그리고 외부사업자는 외부사업자의 고유 파라미터로 사업단계별 최적투자분기점을 도출하여 경제성 점검에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

수술실의 원가배부기준 설정연구 (A Study on the cost allocation method of the operating room in the hospital)

  • The operating room is the major facility that costs the highest investment per unit area in a hospital. It requires commitment of hospital resources such as manpower, equipments and material. The quantity of these resources committed actually differs from one type of operation to another. Because of this, it is not an easy task to allocate the operating cost to individual clinical departments that share the operating room. A practical way to do so may be to collect and add the operating costs incurred by each clinical department and charge the net cost to the account of the corresponding clinical department. It has been customary to allocate the cost of the operating room to the account of each individual department on the basis of the ratio of the number of operations of the department or the total revenue by each operating room. In an attempt to set up more rational cost allocation method than the customary method, this study proposes a new cost allocation method that calls for itemizing the operation cost into its constituent expenses in detail and adding them up for the operating cost incurred by each individual department. For comparison of the new method with the conventional method, the operating room in the main building of hospital A near Seoul is chosen as a study object. It is selected because it is the biggest operating room in hospital A and most of operations in this hospital are conducted in this room. For this study the one-month operation record performed in January 2001 in this operating room is analyzed to allocate the per-month operation cost to six clinical departments that used this operating room; the departments of general surgery, orthopedic surgery, neuro-surgery, dental surgery, urology, and obstetrics & gynecology. In the new method(or method 1), each operation cost is categorized into three major expenses; personnel expense, material expense, and overhead expense and is allocated into the account of the clinical department that used the operating room. The method 1 shows that, among the total one-month operating cost of 814,054 thousand wons in this hospital, 163,714 thousand won is allocated to GS, 335,084 thousand won to as, 202,772 thousand won to NS, 42,265 thousand won to uno, 33,423 thousand won to OB/GY, and 36.796 thousand won to DS. The allocation of the operating cost to six departments by the new method is quite different from that by the conventional method. According to one conventional allocation method based on the ratio of the number of operations of a department to the total number of operations in the operating room(method 2 hereafter), 329,692 thousand won are allocated to GS, 262,125 thousand won to as, 87,104 thousand won to NS, 59,426 thousand won to URO, 51.285 thousand won to OB/GY, and 24,422 thousand won to DS. According to the other conventional allocation method based on the ratio of the revenue of a department(method 3 hereafter), 148,158 thousand won are allocated to GS, 272,708 thousand won to as, 268.638 thousand won to NS, 45,587 thousand won to uno, 51.285 thousand won to OB/GY, and 27.678 thousand won to DS. As can be noted from these results, the cost allocation to six departments by method 1 is strikingly different from those by method 2 and method 3. The operating cost allocated to GS by method 2 is about twice by method 1. Method 3 makes allocations of the operating cost to individual departments very similarly as method 1. However, there are still discrepancies between the two methods. In particular the cost allocations to OB/GY by the two methods have roughly 53.4% discrepancy. The conventional methods 2 and 3 fail to take into account properly the fact that the average time spent for the operation is different and dependent on the clinical department, whether or not to use expensive clinical material dictate the operating cost, and there is difference between the official operating cost and the actual operating cost. This is why the conventional methods turn out to be inappropriate as the operating cost allocation methods. In conclusion, the new method here may be laborious and cause a complexity in bookkeeping because it requires detailed bookkeeping of the operation cost by its constituent expenses and also by individual clinical department, treating each department as an independent accounting unit. But the method is worth adopting because it will allow the concerned hospital to estimate the operating cost as accurately as practicable. The cost data used in this study such as personnel expense, material cost, overhead cost may not be correct ones. Therefore, the operating cost estimated in the main text may not be the same as the actual cost. Also, the study is focused on the case of only hospital A, which is hardly claimed to represent the hospitals across the nation. In spite of these deficiencies, this study is noteworthy from the standpoint that it proposes a practical allocation method of the operating cost to each individual clinical department.

Protective Devices Allocation Optimization for Electrical Distribution System

  • Most of electric distribution utilities have their reliability performance measured by reliability indices such as SAIFI and SAIDI to evaluate customer satisfaction. Adding protective devices in electrical distribution system can increase the system reliability by protecting public customers from local faults. In large-scale distribution system, it is difficult to determine the positions of these protective devices, which can efficiently protect customers within utilities' investment. In this paper, we propose an optimization technique to identify types and positions of protective devices to minimize SAIFI and SAIDI indices according to system requirement constraints.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the introduction and its application of objectives management system in practical case, This study attempts to describe, (1) the relationships between the objectives management and budget management (2) analyzed the introduced organization and applicable system for the performance of objectives. Concepts of objectives, as this study is adjusted as follows; i) Objectives must be operational. They must be capable of being converted into specific targets and specific assignments. Therefore, objectives are the basis for work and assignments; they determine the structure of the business, the key activities which must be discharged, and, above all, the allocation of people to tasks. ii) Setting objectives for investment requires also objectives for the structure, basic policies, jobs, and directions of the business itself. They are not selling objectives; They are genuine marketing objectives, and as such have to be built into the way the business itself is set up, directed, structured, and run.
