The purposes of this study were to identify cosmetics purchasing behavior according the 20-30 year old men's lifestyle. The results were as follows; 1. The factors of men's lifestyle were sense of fashion, participation of social activities, use of web-based information, sense of androgyny, economical efficiency, provision of web-base information, sport activities, and pursuit of change, and they were segmented into a passive stagnant group, a economic web-base information utilizing group, a positive social activity participation group, and a sensitive appearance change pursuit group. 2. Passive stagnant group used less information sources patronized cosmetics specialty store, did not select their cosmetics by themselves, and spent less for their cosmetics. Economic web-base information utilizing group used information sources positively, patronized cosmetics discount store or internet shopping, and spent less for cosmetics. Positive social activity participation group patronized cosmetics specialty store or discount store, but did not select cosmetics by themselves. Sensitive appearance change pursuit group patronized department store or internet shopping for cosmetics, selected cosmetics by themselves, and spent more. 3. Passive stagnant group showed a tendency of older, less educated, and lower incomes, but economic web-base information utilizing group were among the age of 20's, lower educated, and the unmarried with average incomes. Positive social activity participation group showed a tendency of older, highly educated, and the married with jobs, but sensitive appearance change pursuit group were among the age of 20's and university students with more incomes and pocket money.
This research tried to clarify the impact of service quality on the customer satisfaction, customer retention and switching barriers in the competitive structure between department store and discount store. We measured the level of service quality by using the methodology which had been adopted in the service quality research area. Using the internet survey method, we gathered data from 750 consumers of each industry. We used various analysis methods such as the regression analysis, t-test, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results reveal different patterns in the two sectors in the retail industry with respect to switching barriers. We conclude that switching barriers play an important role in consumer satisfaction and retention.

The proliferation of the Internet and related technologies and applications has led to a new form of market place known as the electronic store. In this paper, we study competition between two shopping channels, an electronic store and traditional retailers. Based on the circular spatial market model, we derive the Nash and Stackelberg equilibria as a function of the efficiency of the electronic store. The result shows that the Stackelberg equilibrium is always superior to the Nash equilibrium for both channels. It is also shown that, in some cases, the electronic store has incentive to decrease its efficiency to gain more profit.
The first purpose of this study was to compare the fashion zones and fashion brands on the floors in small and medium volume department store with those of big department stores within adjacent trading area. The second purpose was to find out similarity and differentiation of near-by department stores. The third one was to propose the future fashion marketing strategies of the department stores. The methods used were references, internet, field observation, and interview in 2002. Eight department stores within adjacent trading area were classified and analysed In "Gangnam division", "Seocho division'. and "Youngdeungpo division". The results were as follows : Firstly, there was a low relationship between the degrees of brand equalization of each department store in the "Gangnam, Seocho. and Youngdeungpo division". Secondly, there was an alteration on the floor layout of each department store. It was layed out in a way that allowed for customers, who wanted to just purchase specific items, to go upstairs and look around several stores, which allowed for not only rise in the amount of sales but also offer the convenience of one stop shopping for the customers. Thirdly I proposed several marketing strategies such as lifestyle marketing, relationship marketing, and compile marketing which solves everyday life agenda. I also proposed the solution selling education to develop service education of salesperson. I finally proposed the overriding priority policy by sales record of each store.licy by sales record of each store.

The outpaced growth of online channel sales over the traditional retail sales is a result from superior shopping convenience that online stores offer to their customers. One major source of online shopping convenience is a personalized store that reduces customer's shopping time. Personalization of an online store is accomplished by using various in-store shopping behavior data that the Internet and Web Technology provides. Brick-and-mortar retailers have not been able to make this type of data available for their stores until now. However, RFID technology has now opened a new possibility to personalization of traditional retail stores. In this paper, we propose BRIMPS (BRIck-and-Mortar Personalization System) as a system that brick-and-mortar retailers may use to personalize their business and become more competitive against online retailers.

On this research, we classified Korean consumers into several comsumer groups based on the different decision-making process they endorse, and then investigated the difference among these consumer groups in frequency, expenditure, satisfaction in using different types of retail stores. For this research, we have surveyed consumers dwelling in Seoul and in near-Seoul areas in 2004. The following is the summary of the main results. First, 'enjoy shopping' group showed a high expenditure rate in department store shopping and internet shopping, whereas 'impulsive decision' group more frequently visited traditional market places, 'fashion pursuing' group and 'enjoy shopping' group visited department stores more frequently than traditional market places. Second, 'impulsive decision' group assessed that the traditional market place offers better price and quality. Also 'impulsive decision' group and 'enjoy shopping' group assessed positively on the AS provided by department stores, and assessed negatively on the AS provided by internet shopping malls. Finally, 'fashion pursuer' group preferred buying foods from traditional market places, while 'brand seeker' group and 'fashion pursuer' group preferred buying clothes from discount stores. While 'enjoy shopping' group showed a high preference in buying clothes in department stores, 'rational decision-making' group showed a low preference in buying clothes in department stores.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology continuously captures and stores video streams. Users are typically required by policy to store all the captured video for a certain period. Accordingly, increasing the number of CCTV operation cycles and photographing positions expands the amount of data to be stored. However, expanding the available storage space for video data incurs increased costs. In recent years, this problem has been addressed with cloud storage solutions, which enable multiple users and devices to access and store data simultaneously. However, because of the large amount of data to be stored, a vast storage space is required. Consequently, cloud storage administrators need a way to store data more efficiently. To save storage space, deduplication technology has been proposed to prevent duplicate storage of the same data. However, because cloud storage is hosted on remote servers, data encryption technology must be applied to address data exposure issues. Although deduplication techniques for encrypted data have been studied, there have been various security vulnerabilities. We attempted to solve this problem by addressing various issues such as poison attacks, property forgery, and ownership management while removing the redundant data and handling the data more securely.

The European Union recently established the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for secure data use and personal information protection. Inspired by this, South Korea revised their Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and the Credit Information Use and Protection Act, collectively known as the "Three Data Bills," which prescribe safe personal information use based on pseudonymous data processing. Based on these bills, the personal data store (PDS) has received attention because it utilizes the MyData service, which actively manages and controls personal information based on the approval of individuals, and it practically ensures their rights to informational self-determination. Various types of PDS models have been developed by several countries (e.g., the US, Europe, and Japan) and global platform firms. The South Korean government has now initiated MyData service projects for personal information use in the financial field, focusing on personal credit information management. There is also a need to verify the efficacy of this service in diverse fields (e.g., medical). However, despite the increased attention, existing MyData models and frameworks do not satisfy security requirements of ensured traceability, transparency, and distributed authentication for personal information use. This study analyzes primary PDS models and compares them to an internationally standardized framework for personal information security with guidelines on MyData so that a proper PDS model can be proposed for South Korea.
