Open markets are one of the online marketplaces which mainly concentrated on spot transactions of commodities, and are differentiated from integrated internet shopping stores with market participants, trading rules and so on. This study investigated on factors affecting satisfaction with and preference on open markets by comparing open markets with integrated internet shopping stores, and aimed to figure out the reasons why open markets are growing up so rapidly and to forecast the future of open markets. To investigate the factors affecting buyers' satisfaction with and preference on internet shopping channel. I extracted several factors through literature reviews. The factors include the pros (cost saving and time saving), the cons (security concerns and privacy concerns), and decision making support suggested by Simon's research as well. Then, I constructed research model and related research hypotheses. To verify research hypotheses, I conducted field survey targeting on online buyers and analyzed research data using structural equation model. According to data analysis result, open markets have competitive advantages over integrated internet shopping stores with respect to cost saving, time saving, and decision making support. However, online buyers are still concerning privacy issues within open markets. In summary, buyers are considering that open markets are cheaper, faster, and more efficient internet shopping channel, compared with integrated internet shopping stores. However, open markets are required to dedicate to lessen buyers' privacy concerns to rebirth as more satisfying and preferable internet shopping channel and to prosper in the future.

  • IoT (Internet of Things) is a collective term referring to application services that provide information through sensors/devices connected to the internet. The real world application of IoT is expanding fast along with growing number of sensors/devices. However, since IoT application relies on vertical combination of sensors/devices networks, information sharing within IoT services remains unresolved challenge. Consequently, IoT sensors/devices demand high construction and maintenance costs, rendering the creation of new IoT services potentially expensive. One solution is to launch an IoT open market for information sharing similar to that of App Store for smart-phones. Doing so will efficiently allow novel IoT services to emerge across various industries, because developers can purchase licenses to access IoT resources directly via an open market. Sharing IoT resource information through an open market will create an echo-system conducive for easy utilization of resources and communication between IoT service providers, resource owners, and developers. This paper proposes the new business model of IoT open market for information sharing, and the requirements for ensuring security and standardization of open markets.

  • Nowadays, an open-market which provides sellers and consumers a cyber place for making a transaction over the Internet has emerged as a prevalent sales channel because of convenience and relatively low price it provides. However, there are few studies about CRM strategies based on VIP consumers for an open-market even though understanding VIP consumers' behaviors in open-markets is important to increase its revenue. Therefore, we propose CRM strategies targeted on VIP customers, obtained by analyzing the transaction data of VIP customers from an open-market using data mining techniques. To that end, we first defined the VIP customers in terms of recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) values. Then, we used data mining techniques to develop a model which best classifies and identifies infiluential factors customers into VIPs or non-VIPs. We also validate each of promotion types in the aspect of effectiveness and identify association rules among the types. Then, based on the findings from these experiments, we propose strategies from the perspectives of CRM dimensions for the open-market to thrive.

  • This study investigated the uncertainty, regret experience, and negative behavior intention of fashion consumers according to the types of internet shopping malls. The data was obtained from internet fashion consumers, and 394 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. As results, the uncertainty of internet fashion consumers was composed of two factors; information uncertainty and preference uncertainty. The regret experience was composed of function or service regret, suitability regret, and product regret. Also, the negative behavior intention was composed of purchase switching intention and purchase deferral intention. The information uncertainty of fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention in all types of internet shopping malls (e.g., open market, integrated shopping mall, and fashion specialized shopping mall). In open market, the preference uncertainty negatively affected the purchase switching intention; however, the preference uncertainty positively affected the purchase deferral intention. In open market and fashion specialized shopping mall, the product regret of internet fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention. In addition, there were partially significant differences in the factors of uncertainty, regret experience, and negative behavior intention by gender and marital status of demographic characteristics. The results of this study will provide useful information to the marketing strategies considering fashion consumer's negative emotion and behaviors according to the types of internet shopping malls.
