  • Internet of Things defines a large number of diverse entities and services which interconnect with each other and individually or cooperatively operate depending on context, conditions and environments, produce a huge personal and sensitive data. In this scenario, the satisfaction of privacy, security and trust objectives plays a critical role in the success of the Internet of Things. Trust here can be considered as a key property to establish trustworthy and seamless connectivity among entities and to guarantee secure services and applications. The aim of this study is to provide a survey on various trust computation strategies and identify future trends in the field. We discuss trust computation methods under several aspects and provide comparison of the approaches based on trust features, performance, advantages, weaknesses and limitations of each strategy. Finally the research discuss on the gap of the trust literature and raise some research directions in trust computation in the Internet of Things.

  • In the 4th Industrial Revolution, the Internet of Things emerged and various services and convenience improved. As the frequency of use increases, security threats such as leakage of personal information coexist and the importance of security are increasing. In this paper, we analyze the security threats of the Internet of things and propose a model for enhancing security through user authentication using Fast IDentity Online (FIDO). As a result, we propose to implement strong user authentication by introducing second authentication through FIDO.

  • In this paper, we propose an well-organized lecture note for giving a better understanding on the Internet of Things (IoT) to people including non-computer majors without computing and communication knowledge. In recent years, the term 'IoT' has been popularized, and IoT will make a huge impact on our industries, societies, and environments. Although there are large amount of literature on presenting IoT from technological perspectives, few are published that are organized for teaching students having non-computer-related majors. Based on research and education experiences on IoT, we tried to make a lecture note focusing on the process of collecting data from everyday objects, transmitting and sharing data, and utilizing data to create new values for us. The proposed lecture note was employed in teaching a liberal arts class, and it was shown that students could have an understanding of what IoT really means and how IoT could change our world.

  • COVID-19 pandemic outbreak increased the use of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), but the existing IoMT solutions are not free from attacks. This paper proposes a secure and resilient framework for IoMT, it computes the risk using Risk Impact Parameters (RIP) and Risk is also calculated based upon the Threat Events in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card) and TPM (Trusted Platform Module) are used to ensure security in IoMT. PILAR Risk Management Tool is used to perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. It is designed to support the risk management process along long periods, providing incremental analysis as the safeguards improve.

  • This study aims to analyze research trends in blockchain-based Internet of Things focusing on the US, UK, and Korea. In Elsevier's Scopus, we collected 2,174 papers about blockchain-based Internet of Things published in from 2018 to 2023. Keyword frequency and centrality analysis were conducted on the abstracts of the collected papers. Through the obtained keyword frequencies, we tried to identify keywords with high frequency of occurrence and through centrality analysis, we tried to identify central research keywords for each country. As a result of the centrality analysis, research on blockchain, smart contracts, Internet of Things, security and personal information protection was conducted as the most central research in each country. The implication for Korea is that cybersecurity, authentication research appears to have been conducted with a lower centrality compared to the United States and the United Kingdom. Thus, it seems that intensive research related to cybersecurity and authentication is needed.

  • Thanks to internet, as one of indispensable parts of our lives, many devices that we use in our daily lives like TV, air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine, can be monitored and controlled remotely by becoming more intelligent via Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Smart Home applications as one of the elements of smart cities, are individually the most demanded application without question. In this study, Smart Energy Management (SEM) system, based on NodeMCU and Android, has been designed for SEM, which is a part of the smart home application. With this system, household energy consumption can be monitored in real time, as well as having the ability to record the data comprising of operation times and energy consumption information for each device. Additionally, it is ensured to meet the energy needs on a maximized level possible, during the hours when the energy costs are lower owing to the SEM system. The Android interface provides the users with the opportunity to monitor and change their electricity consumption habits in order to optimize the energy efficiency, along with the opportunity to draw up of a daily and weekly schedule.

  • Internet of things which helps communication between human and thing and between things by connecting networks on them is developing. Develops of Internet of things, network technique, and smart machine result interest on home network system. In this paper, we suggested a system with the home network to the dormitory using pressure sensors, infrared sensor, ultrasonic sensor, switch, arduino, raspberrypi, android application. Smart dormitory system based on the internet of things provide information whether public things in dormitory like laundry machine, computer, treadmill is being used now, and package is arrived through android application.

  • This paper is about IoT(Internet of Things)-based indoor localization scheme. GPS and WiFi are widely used to estimate the location of things. However, GPS has drawback of poor reception and radio disturbance in doors. To estimate the location in WiFi-based method, the user collects the information by scanning nearby WiFi(s) and transferring the information to WiFi database server. This is a fingerprint method with disadvantage of having an additional DB server. IoT is the internetworking of things, and this is on rapid rise. I propose the IoT-based indoor localization scheme. Under the proposed method, a device internetworking with another device with its own location information like GPS coordinate can estimate its own location through RSSI. With more devices localizing its own, the localization accuracy goes high. The proposed method allows the user to estimate the location without GPS and WiFi DB server.

  • This paper tries to find the implications applied to art institutions of Korea by analyzing what the content and consequences of services of the Cleveland Museum of Art provided after the Internet of Things adoption in the theoretical perspectives strengthening service marketing through the Internet of Things increases visits and participation in the museum. For analysis, journal articles, statistics, and government press releases, news articles, web pages, web page articles are collected. The results are first, the application of digital and social media is positive in visit to the museum and monetization. Second, the introduction of the Internet of Things will enhance the museum's 'Education', 'Accessibility', 'Communications' services, as well as significantly increase on and offline participation by activating experience. Third, technical support from related companies with the support of local government funds is essential to build the system. Consequently, in order to enable the participation of the spectators in the galleries it is proposed aggressive adoption of such digital technology in domestic barren market of Internet of Things.
