  • The maintenance function of Solar power plant is configured with Sensor devices, Gateway, and Maintenance Function Platform. In this paper, we designed gateway resource tree and service scenario to fit the Maintenance Function and demonstrated appropriate operation of the maintenance service through intelligent functional modeling.

  • The office management service platform configured with office's sensor devices, G/DSCL(Gateway/Device Service Capability Layer), NSCL(Network Service Capability Layer), and NA(Network Application). In this paper, we designed gateway resource tree and service scenario to fit the office management service and demonstrated appropriate operation of the office management service through intelligent functional modeling.

  • In Internet of Things (IoT), the aim of the nodes (called 'Things') is to exchange information with each other, whereby they gather and share information with each other through self decision-making. Therefore, we cannot apply existing aggregation algorithms of Wireless sensor networks that aim to transmit information to only a sink node or a central server, directly to the IoT environment. In addition, since existing algorithms aggregate information from all sensor nodes, problems can arise including an increasing number of transmissions and increasing transmission delay and energy consumption. In this paper, we propose the clustering and property based data exchange method for energy efficient information sharing. First, the proposed method assigns the properties of each node, including the sensing data and unique resource. The property determines whether the node can respond to the query requested from the other node. Second, a cluster network is constructed considering the location and energy consumption. Finally, the nodes communicate with each other efficiently using the properties. For the performance evaluation, TOSSIM was used to measure the network lifetime and average energy consumption.

Development of a Framework for Improvement of Sensor Data Quality from Weather Buoys (해양기상부표의 센서 데이터 품질 향상을 위한 프레임워크 개발)

  • In this study, we focus on the improvement of data quality transmitted from a weather buoy that guides a route of ships. The buoy has an Internet-of-Thing (IoT) including sensors to collect meteorological data and the buoy's status, and it also has a wireless communication device to send them to the central database in a ground control center and ships nearby. The time interval of data collected by the sensor is irregular, and fault data is often detected. Therefore, this study provides a framework to improve data quality using machine learning models. The normal data pattern is trained by machine learning models, and the trained models detect the fault data from the collected data set of the sensor and adjust them. For determining fault data, interquartile range (IQR) removes the value outside the outlier, and an NGBoost algorithm removes the data above the upper bound and below the lower bound. The removed data is interpolated using NGBoost or long-short term memory (LSTM) algorithm. The performance of the suggested process is evaluated by actual weather buoy data from Korea to improve the quality of 'AIR_TEMPERATURE' data by using other data from the same buoy. The performance of our proposed framework has been validated through computational experiments based on real-world data, confirming its suitability for practical applications in real-world scenarios.

  • The Objective of this Study is to Prove the Effectiveness of a Smart Water Management(SWM) Technology. The SWM Technology can Reduce the Production Cost using Internet of Thing(IoT) Technology that Utilizes Remote Metering of Consumer's Water usage and Reduce the Leakage of Supply Facilities. The SWM Demonstration Model Installed a Remote Water Leakage Sensor, Smart Metering and Micro Multi Sensor in Water Supply Facility, and Provided Real-Time Monitoring of the Operation Status. Consumers can be Provided the usage of Tap Water and the Water Puality through a Smart Phone Application. At this Time, we Surveyed Whether Consumers save the Tap Water or Drinking Directly using the Tap Water usage Information. Also, this Study is to Verify the Degree of Improvement of Water Supply Rates and Drinking Water Rate, and to Decrease Consumer's Complaints, Operating Costs, and Water Consumption by the SWM Technology. It is also Established a SWM Model Combined with the IoT Sensor at Supply Facilities, operator monitoring system and explored recovery solution detected events. It means the upbringing of the domestic water industry by developing the related technologies and spreading the SWM to advanced levels.

Entity Authentication Scheme for Secure WEB of Things Applications (안전한 WEB of Things 응용을 위한 개체 인증 기술)

  • WoT (Web of Things) was proposed to realize intelligent thing to thing communications using WEB standard technology. It is difficult to adapt security protocols suited for existing Internet communications into WoT directly because WoT includes LLN(Low-power, Lossy Network) and resource constrained sensor devices. Recently, IETF standard group propose to use DTLS protocol for supporting security services in WoT environments. However, DTLS protocol is not an efficient solution for supporting end to end security in WoT since it introduces complex handshaking procedures and high communication overheads. We, therefore, divide WoT environment into two areas- one is DTLS enabled area and the other is an area using lightweight security scheme in order to improve them. Then we propose a mutual authentication scheme and a session key distribution scheme for the second area. The proposed system utilizes a smart device as a mobile gateway and WoT proxy. In the proposed authentication scheme, we modify the ISO 9798 standard to reduce both communication overhead and computing time of cryptographic primitives. In addition, our scheme is able to defend against replay attacks, spoofing attacks, select plaintext/ciphertext attacks, and DoS attacks, etc.

Acoustic Event Detection and Matlab/Simulink Interoperation for Individualized Things-Human Interaction (사물-사람 간 개인화된 상호작용을 위한 음향신호 이벤트 감지 및 Matlab/Simulink 연동환경)

  • Most IoT-related approaches have tried to establish the relation by connecting the network between things. The proposed research will present how the pervasive interaction of eco-system formed by touching the objects between humans and things can be recognized on purpose. By collecting and sharing the detected patterns among all kinds of things, we can construct the environment which enables individualized interactions of different objects. To perform the aforementioned, we are going to utilize technical procedures such as event-driven signal processing, pattern matching for signal recognition, and hardware in the loop simulation. We will also aim to implement the prototype of sensor processor based on Arduino MCU, which can be integrated with system using Arduino-Matlab/Simulink hybrid-interoperation environment. In the experiment, we use piezo transducer to detect the vibration or vibrates the surface using acoustic wave, which has specific frequency spectrum and individualized signal shape in terms of time axis. The signal distortion in time and frequency domain is recorded into memory tracer within sensor processor to extract the meaningful pattern by comparing the stored with lookup table(LUT). In this paper, we will contribute the initial prototypes for the acoustic touch processor by using off-the-shelf MCU and the integrated framework based on Matlab/Simulink model to provide the individualization of the touch-sensing for the user on purpose.

  • Nowadays, there is called energy saving, that it is accomplished with a lot study and application development as according to demand of all around world. It is using to network device of wire or wireless such as internet, lan, plc, and zigbee and that we should be accomplished to study about method that spending a little cost to fatal error in control system that be expected of frequent occurrence on network, and that have method to do construction a little bit tried out. Also, in that such a embedded system with network function case, there is important thing that it is remote management to network node and control methods to trust because firmware upgrade have the advantage of more than the other device. In this paper, we have verified through a result of experiment for efficient remote management and control method as previously stated in this paper, that it is area of the PLC for sensor node and doing management to relay, and implementation of the LACC which is core part of the ESS, and in order to get a result to trust from doing analysis of capacity and test.

A Study on Logistics Distribution Industry's IoT Situation and Development Direction (국내외 물류산업의 사물인터넷(IoT) 현황과 발전방향에 관한 연구)

  • IoT(Internet of Things) has become a major issue as new type of convergence technology, expending existing of USNs(Ubiquitous Sensor Networks), NFC(Near Field Communication), and M2M(Machine to Machine). The IoT technology defines as a networking for things, which can establish intelligent links collaboratively for sensing networking and processing between each other without human intervention. The purpose of this study is to investigate to forecast the future distribution changes and orientation of contribution of distribution industry on IoT and to provide the implication of distribution changes. To become a global market leader, IoT requires much more development of core technology of IoT for distribution industry, new service creation and try to use a market-based demand side strategy to create markets. So, to become a global leader in distribution industry, this study results show that first of all establishment of standardization of IoT, privacy safeguards, security issues, stability and value were more important than others. The research findings suggest that the development goals of IoT should strive to boost the creation of a global leader in distribution industry and convenience to consider consumers' demands as the most important thing.

An Implementation of Mobile Game using JBox2D Physics Engine in Android Platform (안드로이드 플랫폼에서 JBox2D 물리 엔진을 이용한 모바일 게임구현)

  • As a software component for computer game, the physics engine simulates objects' movement according to the laws of physics. This paper introduces a design and implementation of mobile game on the Android platform, where we used JBox2D physics engine library and Android graphics APIs. We borrowed the key idea of this game from Crayon Physics which is known as a famous PC game. This game starts with no way from user character to destination character. The game user has to make a way to destination character from user character by creating polygon objects between them. The user wins when user character meets destination character. However, the game user has to decide the time to create objects and their shapes well because all objects in this game are governed by the laws of physics. As an important thing of this paper, we introduced into this game new input methods of LCD touch and sensors embedded in mobile devices but not in PCs. Game users can create objects by drawing polygons with LCD touch and move objects or characters according to sensor values from accelerator sensors by tilting the mobile device.
