Demand Survey Method for Commercialization of Police Science Technology and Equipment

  • This study is a demand research for the selection of public safety science and technology equipment and suggests an empirical research method. The technology demand survey is the beginning of the selection of innovative technology. And it is the basis of collecting information required for the technology required in the market and helping to apply it to the field. The demand survey for police science and technology can reduce the uncertainty of crime prevention and help the smooth implementation of security policies. However, in Korea, adoption of security science and technology equipment was centered on social issues or researchers' opinions rather than the demands of field users. Until, there was no research has been conducted on the demands of field police officers for selection of security science and technology equipment in Korea. Also, there was no preferential study for the demand for security science and technology equipment. Therefore, this study proposes a methodology that can systematically identify the needs for the technology and equipment of field experts suitable for the public security situation for the selection of security science and technology equipment. Specifically, we propose a sample design for a technology classification system and a survey tool for technology awareness and satisfaction. It is expected that this tool will provide a classification system for security science and technology equipment selected for the Korean police and will help determine the priority of equipment suitable for the field.

  • The paper is an attempt to study the individual's intention to use mobile banking. In light of the results obtained from the study, the proposed model offers a better fit with the data and explains the intention of individuals to use mobile banking services. Government support, trust, and compatibility significantly contribute to the Perceived behavioral control of a bank customer to use mobile banking while Perceived ease of use, Perceived usefulness, Security and privacy, and risk have a significant positive impact on the attitude of the individuals to utilize mobile banking service. The study uses primary data and the final instrument was administered to 950 respondents, across the country of which 904 data were used for the analysis after editing to accommodate the missing values. The study has adopted structural equation modeling approach to analyze the relationships between the variables in the study. The proposed framework in this study can be utilized to identify the factors that promote the adoption of mobile banking practices and the study also has the potential to provide updated and comprehensive literature on mobile banking, which can accelerate future research in this field.

Korean Multinational Corporations' Global Expansion Strategies in Manufacturing Sector: Mother Factory Approach

  • The study explores the evolving landscape of overseas expansion strategies by Korean corporations, focusing on recent geopolitical tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic, and disruptions in global supply chains. It emphasizes the challenges faced by industries producing high-value products and delves into the concept of "Friend-Shoring" policies in the United States, leading major Korean companies to invest in local semiconductor, battery, and automotive factories. Recognizing the potential fragmentation of Korea's manufacturing sector, the paper introduces the "Mother Factory" strategy as a policy initiative, inspired by Japan's model, to establish core production facilities domestically. The discussion unfolds by examining the cases of major companies in Japan and the United States, highlighting the need for Korea to adopt a mother factory strategy to mitigate risks associated with friend-shoring policies. Inspired by Intel's "Copy Exactly" approach, the paper proposes a Korean mother factory model integrating smart factory technology and digital twin systems. This strategic shift aims to enhance responsiveness to geopolitical challenges and fortify the competitiveness of Korean high-tech industries. Finally, the paper proposes a Korean Mother Factory based on smart factory concepts. The suggested model integrates smart factory technology and digital twin frameworks to enhance responsiveness and fortify competitiveness. In conclusion, the paper advocates for the adoption of a comprehensive Korean Mother Factory model to address contemporary challenges, foster advanced manufacturing, and ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of Korean high-tech industries in the global landscape. The proposed strategy aligns with the evolving dynamics of the manufacturing sector and emphasizes technological advancements, collaboration, and strategic realignment.

Privacy-preserving credential smart contracts using Zokrates

  • The need for secure user authentication in blockchain-based applications has been growing with the increased adoption of Decentralized Identity (DID) credentials in blockchain. Zokrates, a tool designed to protect user privacy within smart contracts, had a limitation in that it could not accept authenticated user information such as credentials, only allowing the use of manually inputted data. In this paper, we propose a smart contract system that securely validates DID credentials to overcome the limitations of traditional centralized authentication systems. This system ensures the safe identification of users within blockchain-based applications by authenticating their identities in a trusted manner within the blockchain. As the demand for user authentication in blockchain rises, this paper emphasizes the significance of a blockchain-based identity verification system that guarantees both privacy and security. Leveraging the Zero-Knowledge Proof method and utilizing the Zokrates tool, this innovative approach aims to provide solutions for the digital identity verification process, thereby expanding the scope of blockchain technology applications. Moreover, we also provide a CLI for each entity. We help anyone who wants to authenticate their identity using the tool to safely verify it on-chain.

  • Recently, social network services (SNSs) most notably in Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin have became a worldwide sensation more than the other internet services. This study suggested social conformity theory is appropriate tools for diagnosis to rapid adoption and diffusion of SNSs. Based on previous research, we suggested three different aspects of social conformity:social imitation conformity, social connection conformity, and social comparative conformity. Namely conformity has positive effect on user's three kinds of commitment which called continuance, normative, and affective commitment. we investigated user's commitment to the SNSs have positive effects on user's stickiness intention. Finally, we presented useful implications related to academy and industry.

  • Computational grids are emerging as a new infrastructure for internet-based parallel and distributed computing. Grid systems are enables the sharing, exchanging, discovery and aggregation of resources which distributed multiple administrative domains, organizations and enterprises. Accounting information service is one of the main obstacles to widespread adoption of the grid. But, most of grid portals do not support accounting information service. In this paper, we design an accounting information service and build a web-based grid portal including account management service and accounting information service.

  • The knowledge based economy requires more and more people to learn new knowledge and skills in a timely and effective manner. These needs and new technology such as computer and Internet are fueling a transition in e-learning. We did the case study of K company, which is leading the business to business e-learning in Korea. We investigated prior studies about e-learning and deduced the major variables composed of learner, tutor, infrastructure, contents, and practice. And then we suggested the successful way of doing the operation for the company's e-learning. We hope that this research will help the companies that have introduced or consider the adoption of e-learning.

원외 전자처방전달시스템의 비용.편익 분석 (Cost-Benefit Analysis of Interned-based Prescription Delivery System)

  • Korea's recent attempt to separate prescription and dispensation of pharmaceuticals suffers serious, negative side effects. The interned-based prescription delivery system is being considered a supportive tool to alleviate such side effects. This paper conducts an economic evaluation of the system. We consider all possible types of pecuniary costs and benefits, from societal perspective, to conclude that nationwide adoption of the system would raise net social benefits by 5,892 billion won for the coming five years. Specifically, the net benefits would be distributed among consumers (5,667 billion won), pharmacies (216 billion won) and medical institutions (8 billion won). Net social benefits would be far mere enhanced by deregulation policies, such as removal of restrictions on electronic type prescription and home-delivery of dispensed drugs.

  • SCM(Supply Chain Management) is one of the important issues in internet-based business environment. This study intends to suggest a research model to investigate the influence of environmental, organizational, technical factors on successful SCM system implementation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the organizational characteristics of SCM adoption on successful implementation of SCM systems, including the moderating effects of competitiveness. 122 companies data were collected by survey. The results of hypothesis testing showed that project management is the most important determinants to influence successful SCM system implementation. In addition to that, top management support, IS maturity have positive influence to successful implementation of SCM systems in direct effect model. Also, the results of hypothesis testing in moderating effect model show that competitiveness has a positive impact to successful implementation of SCM systems.

  • Smart metering is one of the most implementable internet-of-thing service. In order to implement the smart metering, a wireless communication network should be newly designed and evaluated so as to satisfy quality-of-service of smart metering. In this paper, we consider a wireless network for the smart metering implemented with multi-purpose wireless chips and channel coding-functioned micro controllers. Especially, channel coding is newly adopted to improve successful frame transmission probability. Based on the successful frame transmission probability, average transmission delay and delay violation probability are analyzed. Using the analytical results, service coverage expansion is evaluated. Through the delay analysis, service feasibility can be verified. According to our results, channel coding needs not to be utilized to improve the delay performance if the smart metering service coverage is several tens of meters. However, if more coverage is required, chanel coding adoption definitely reduces the delay time and improve the service feasibility.
