Background: Environmental hazards are responsible for as much as a quarter of the total world-wide burden of disease. Therefore, appropriate management of environmental hazards is a critical part of the effort to improve human health. This review aims to summarize current issues, topics, and programs at international institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the area of environmental health. Results: The WHO European Center for Environmental Health (ECEH) plays a significant role in implementing environmental health policies and also takes the lead in related issues in Europe. It has developed an Environmental Health Information System and environmental health inequality indicators. In the environmental health area, the OECD focuses most on chemical management programs. It foresees that air pollution and chemical risk management will become the leading environmental health issues if appropriate measures are not taken. Several topics were identified that require greater effort in Korea, including cancer as an environment-related disease, an environmental health information system, and environmental health inequality issues. Conclusions: More active roles are expected from Korea in international societies, in part because of the introduction of the Environmental Health Act of 2008, and active involvement in related activities in WHO WPRO/SEARO. Understanding recent developments and concerns at major international organizations like WHO and the OECD will assist in the implementation of effective international collaboration and the identification of a better strategies for improving environmental health performances in Korea.

본 논문은 해상통신 환경의 현대화를 위해서 기존 통신시스템을 아날로그에서 디지털로 대체하고 새로운 통신기술을 도입하기 위한 시스템의 기술적 특성을 연구하고 이러한 시스템이 국제적으로 조화된 주파수에서 디지털 통신을 효율적으로 할 수 있는 새로운 주파수 대역 확보 및 기존 할당된 주파수 조정 등에 관해서 국제 표준화기구의 최근 연구 동향을 분석해서 기술하였다. 특히 국제전기통신연합 무선통신부문(ITU(International Telecommunication Union)-R(Radiocommunication sector))에서는 IMO(International Maritime Organization)와 IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission)와 긴밀한 협력으로 결과를 도출해서 해상통신 현대화를 추진하고 있다. 본고에서는 ITU-R의 해상통신 현대화를 위한 최근 회의 결과(WP(Working Party)5B회의, WRC(World Radiocommunication Conference)-12 결과 등)를 분석해서 기술하였다.

This study attempted to explore the realization and research direction of a successful metaverse environment in the future by analyzing international research trends of the metaverse using topic modeling. A total of 208 papers among WoS and ScienceDirect papers using metaverse as keywords were selected, and quantitative frequency analysis and topic modeling were performed. As a result, it was confirmed that research has rapidly increased after 2022. The main keywords of the research topics were 'second', 'life', 'learning', 'reality', 'metaverse', 'virtual', 'blockchain', 'nft', 'medical', 'avatar', etc. The topic keywords 'Second life & Education' and 'Virtual Reality & Medical' accounted for a large proportion of 57%, followed by 'Blockchain & Cryptocurrency', 'Avatar & Interaction', and 'Sensing and Device'. As a result of semantic analysis, current metaverse research is focused on application and utilization, and research on underlying technologies and devices is also active. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the commonalities and differences between domestic and foreign studies, and to study the application method considering the domestic environment. In addition, new jurisprudence research is more necessary along with predicting new problems. It is expected that the results of study will provide the right research direction for domestic researchers in the era of digital transformation and contribute to the realization of a digital society.

Based on my attendance at the CIPA International Symposium(CIPA2023) organized by the International Scientific Committee on Heritage Documentation(ICOMOS), this paper explored research cases applying digital technologies, including BIM, to architectural heritage. The researches presented at this symposium were categorized into specific areas: data acquisition, data management, data sharing&experience. Through this classification, an analysis of research cases in architectural heritage utilizing digital technology was conducted. By categorizing the 43 academic papers from the CIPA2023 based on research themes, trends in the digital architecture field were analyzed, providing insights into future research directions for the digital acquisition, management, sharing, and experiential aspects of Korean architectural heritage. In conclusion, it is deemed necessary to reference and supplement the methodologies, including algorithms, workflows, and approaches developed in each study, to effectively apply methodologies suitable for the characteristics of Korean architectural heritage and its data.

In this study, we collected and analyzed domestic and international studies related to watersheds in the forest sector. Keyword co-occurrence analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer program to identify the research areas of domestic and international studies and the network structure to compare research trends. As a result, the number of research articles in international watershed-related studies showed an overall increasing trend, and the research areas were diverse and located close to each other, indicating that many convergence studies were conducted. On the other hand, the number of papers in domestic watershed-related studies seems to have stagnated overall from the past to the present, and the research areas are mainly focused on forest disasters and hydrology, with limited interdisciplinary convergence studies. In addition, in both domestic and international studies, watersheds are currently mentioned as research sites rather than management or analysis units in the forest sector. It is important to actively promote interdisciplinary research in Korea to provide a scientific and balanced basis for watershed-level forest management planning.

Aims: We have examined and analyzed trends of acupuncture related patents to understand the status of acupuncture technology and research trends of acupuncture in major countries including Korea, the United States, European Union and Japan. Methods: To analyze the patents, we searched and analyzed the total of 1,048 on-line DB based patents under time limit of July, 2006. Results: According to the search results, Korea is mostly superior compared to the others in number of domestic patents. However, Korea patents is inferior in number of international patents and leave much to be desired in industrial applications because of low patents barrier of personal patents and the absence of prospective clients. In addition, in this study, we show an index of international competitiveness and preliminary data of necessity of international cooperation in a field of acupuncture researches. Conclusion: These data suggest that Korea has strong possibility to recover competitiveness for guaranteeing valuable patents, if there are international cooperation and intensive managements of industries in advanced country markets.

한국은 앞선 선도국의 4차 산업혁명 관련 지식과 기술을 국제연구협력을 통해 도입함으로써 4차 산업혁명에 대응해 나갈 수 있는 사회적인 인프라를 확충해야 할 필요성이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 Web of Science에서 수집된 국제연구협력 주제 관련 논문 총101편을 대상으로 국가별 비교분석을 수행함으로써 우리나라의 국제연구협력 실태를 진단하고, 향후 그 활성화 방안을 제안하였다. 연구결과, 국제연구협력 주제 관련 논문이 출판된 국가는 총20개국으로서 순위는 영국(27편, 26.7%), 네델란드(20편, 19.8%), 미국(19편, 18.8%), 브라질과 스페인(5편, 5.0%), 러시아(4편, 4.0%) 등의 순으로 나타났다. 한국은 하위권(2편, 2.0%)으로서 아직까지 국제연구협력 수준이 저조한 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 이에 향후 소속기관별로는 무엇보다 대학의 연구자들, 연구 분야별로는 인문학 계열에서 국제연구협력 주제 관련 논문을 활성화시킬 수 있는 사업을 확대함으로써 한국의 국제적인 연구역량을 강화해야 할 것으로 보인다.
