5축가공기를 활용한 내면 형상 가공용 최적 앵글헤드의 개발 (Development of the Optimized Angle Head for Internal Shape Machining Using Five-Axis Machine Tool)

  • In general, recent critical studies of five-axis machine have tended to center on the question of effective machining to realize complex shape parts. However, the hydrostatic bearing and journal bearing, both of which are involved in the complex process of dividing the processing of internal precision-shape machining, must be optimized. Although the angle head is designed to machine the internal shape as it approaches the inner diameter of the work piece, research on the angle head in five-axis machining has received only minimal attention in domestic industries. In this study, an angle head which is optimized for effective internal shape machining is developed. In pursuit of this purpose, 3D and 2D designs of the angle head for five-axis machining are devised. Reliability is secured through static performance tests and machining accuracy evaluations of the angle head in keeping with the machining accuracy standard of 0.2mm for hydrostatic bearings.

스러스트 내면 연삭가공의 가공면 정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Precision of a Machined Surface in Thrust Internal Grinding)

  • In this paper, the grinding characteristics in thrust internal grinding have been studied using vitreous CBN wheels with a machining center. Grinding experiments have been performed according to grinding conditions such as wheel feed speed, cut depth, workpiece speed, rate of grinding width and number of grinding passes. The machining error, shape of machined surfaces, grinding force, and surface roughness have been investigated though these experiments. Based on the experimental results, the grinding characteristics on the machined surface in the internal thrust grinding are discussed.

  • The 3-dimensional complex parts which construct automobile and aerospace parts are very difficult to polish by traditional polishing method. Abrasive flow machining is useful to polish an internal or external surface of the 3-dimensional shape part. In this paper media flow between workpiece and tooling part has been simulated and the charateristics of abrasive flow machining process have been analyzed according to various machining conditions by calculating the material removal and surface roughness.

베어링의 로브형상과 절삭력 모델링 (Bearing Lobe Profile and Cutting Force Modeling)

  • A modeling of machined geometry and cutting force was proposed for the case of round shape machining, and the effects of internally machined profile are analyzed and its realiability was verified by the experiments of roundness tester, especially in boring operation in lathe. Also, harmonic cutting force model was proposed with the parameter of specific cutting force, chip width and chip thickness, and in this study, we can see that bored workpiece profile was also mapped into cutting force signal with this model. In general, we can calculated the theoretical lobe profile with arbitrary multilobe. But in real experiments, the most frequently measured numbers are 3 and 5 lobe profile in experiments. With this results, we can predict that these results may be applied to round shape machining such as drilling, boring, ball screw and internal grinding operation with the same method.

  • Materials of the Frame hole in fishing trackle reel is made up a number large and small holes. Thus, it is difficult to effective machining. Abrasive flow machining(AFM) is useful to polish a internal or external surface of the 3-dimensional shape parts, which are used in many fields such as aerospace, automative, semi-conductor, and medical component industries. The machining process is that two hydraulic cylinders, which are located face to face, enforce abrasive media to the passage between workpiece and tooling parts alternately, and then the abrasives include in the media pass the passage and polish the surface of workpiece. The media which is made of polymer and abrasives plays the role of the tool for deburring or polishing complex shap workpiece by its viscoelastic characteristics. In this study, the abrasive media for abrasive flow machining was made by mixing viscielastic polymer with alunina and silicon carbide abrasive. Also, we present AFM device design and preliminary results of an investigation in to some aspects of the AFM process performance in fishing trackle reel.

  • Abrasive flow machining is useful to abrasive polish a internal or external surface of the free shape dimensional parts, which are used in many fields such as machine tool parts, semi-conductor, and medical component industries. The machining process is that two hydraulic cylinders, which are located surface to surface, are enforce media to the passage between workpiece and tooling part alternately, and then the abrasives included in the media pass the passage and polish the surface of workpiece. The media which is made of polymer and abrasive plays complex have workpiece by its viscoelastic characteristics. In this study, the media for AMF was made by mixing viscoelastic polymer with alumina and silicon carbide abrasive respectively. As a result, alumina include media is also the experiments of deburring the inside burr of in order to analyse the deburring machinability of abrasive flow machining according to various machining parameters which were media flow rate extrusion pressure, passage gap, media viscosity, abrasive content, and abrasive grain size.

5축 가공으로 제작한 노즐의 구조 안정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Stability of Nozzle Manufactured with 5-axis Machining)

  • 본 연구에서는 굴곡이 있는 형상의 노즐의 제작 방법으로 5축 가공을 제안하였고 제작한 형상의 구조적 검토를 위해 유동 해석과 구조해석을 활용하였다. 유동 해석에 사용한 프로그램은 STAR-CCM+이며 노즐의 내부온도와 압력 분포를 획득하였고 구조해석의 경계조건으로 사용하였다. 구조해석은 상용 프로그램 NASTRAN을 활용하였으며 von-mises 기법으로 응력을 계산하였다. 발생하는 최대 응력 값을 기준으로 안전 마진은 0.78, 베어링 안전 마진 또한 46.8로 안전하였다. 그리고 크리프 수명은 Larson-Miller 변수식 방법을 사용하여 최대 응력 값 187 MPa와 배기가스 완전 혼합된 온도 463 K를 적용하여 예측된 수명 시간은 9.97 x 1012 시간으로 계산되었다.

  • It is widely used in composite materials like several mechanical parts. aerospace industries. internal and structural materials of cars, building structures. ship materials and sporting goods. but it is insufficient to apply in field of mechanical processing. Therefore. GFRP which is possible to use in industrial field was examined about cutting force. tool wear condition of cutting, chip shape. surface roughness and inlet or outlet shape of processing parts with changing cutting condition and using HSS drill which is in vertical machining center in this paper.

  • It will not be an exaggeration to say that one of the most important features of RT (Rapid Tooling) technology is to easy manufacturing complex shape of cooling channel in injection mold. That is, RT technology is hardly influenced complex shape of tool, Therefore, mold designer can optimize the position and shape of cooling channel whatever they want. In this study, we optimized cooling channel through CAE analysis to solve the problem; prototype-connector-mold applied conventional cooling channel, locally warped by internal stress: The effect of three-dimensional cooling channel was supported by simulation result. But it is impossible to produce injection mold applied three-dimensional cooling channel through machining operation. Therefore, we produced the prototype-connector-mold with three-dimensional cooling channel using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) process, and get good-quality prototype-connector without warpage.

입방정질화붕소입자 전착지석에 의한 전해디버링 시스템 (Electrochemical Deburring System by the Electroplated CBN Wheel)

  • Deburring and edge finishing technology as the final process of machining operation is required for manufacturing of advanced precise conponents. But, deburring is considered as a difficult problem on going to the high efficient production and automation in the FMS. Removal of burr couldn't have a standard of its definition because of its various shapes, dimensions and properties and mostly depends on manual treatment. Especially, deburring for cross hole inside is very difficult owing to its shape passing through out perpendicular to a main hole. The electrochemical method is suggested as its solution in practical aspect. Therefore, electrochemical deburring technology needs to be developed for the high efficiency and automation of internal deburring in the cross hole. In this study, the new process in the eliminating burr inside cross hole, electrochemical deburring by the wheel electroplated with Cubic-Boron-Nitrade abrasives, is suggested. Its deburring mechanism is described and machining performances is investigated. Also, CBN electroplated wheel is designed and manufactured and then characteristics of electrochemical deburring are investigated through experiments. Overall electrochemical deburring performance against burr inside cross hole is examined in the various power sources such as peak current and direct current.
