초음속 불완전 팽창 난류 제트 유동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Analysis for Under- or Over- Expanded Supersonic Turbulence Jet Flow)

  • Numerical Analysis has been done for the supersonic off-design jet flow due to the pressure difference between the jet and the ambient fluid. The difference of pressure generates an oblique shock or an expansion wave at the nozzle exit, The waves reflect repeatedly at the center axis and on the sonic surface in the shear layer, and the pressure difference is resolved across these waves interacted with the turbulence mixing layer. In this paper, the axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equation has been used with two equation $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence closure model. The second order TVD scheme with flux limiters, based on the flux vector split by the smooth eigenvalue split, has been used to capture internal shocks and other discontinuities. The correction term for the compressible flow and the damping function are used in the turbulence model. Numerical calculations have been done to analyze the off-design jet flow due to the pressure difference. The variation of pressure along the flow axis is compared with an experimental result and other numerical result. The characteristics of the interaction between the shock cell and the turbulence mixing layer have been analyzed.

  • Droplet size measurement technique was established for the sprayed viscous fluid by virtue of the installation of the sprayed-droplet size measurement system employing light scattering method. Atomization test results showed that the mean droplet size of the sprayed viscous fluid is decreased with the increase of the mass ratio of air to fuel and in case of the same air/fuel ratio, also with the increase of viscous fluid flow rate, and is increased with the distance from atomizer tip. Basic design data for the manufacture of external-mixing type, Y-Jet type, and internal-mixing type atomizers was acquired from the atomization tests.

Removal study of As (V), Pb (II), and Cd (II) metal ions from aqueous solution by emulsion liquid membrane

  • Emulsion Liquid Membrane (ELM) is a prominent technique for the separation of heavy metal ions from wastewater due to the fast extraction and is a single-stage operation of stripping-extraction. The selection of the components (Surfactant and Carrier) of ELM is a very significant step for its preparation. In the ELM technique, the primary water- in-oil (W/O) emulsion is emulsified in water to produce water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) emulsion. The water in oil emulsion was prepared by mixing the membrane phase and internal phase. To prepare the membrane phase, the extractant D2EHPA (di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid) was used as a mobile carrier, Span-80 as a surfactant, and Paraffin as a diluent. Moreover, the internal (receiving) phase was prepared by dissolving sulphuric acid in water. Di-(2- ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid such as surfactant concentration, carrier concentration, sulphuric acid concentration in the receiving (internal) phase, agitation time (emulsion phase and feed phase), the volume ratio of the membrane phase to the receiving phase, the volume ratio of the external feed phase to the primary water-in-oil emulsion and pH of feed were studied on the percentage extraction of metal ions at 20℃. The results show that it is possible to remove 78% for As(V), 98% for Cd(II), and 99% for Pb(II). 시계열 등온선 자료에서의 SAR로 관측된 내부파의 추적 연구 (Tracking of Internal Waves Observed by SAR in the Time Series of Temperature Profile Data)

  • 여름철 우리나라 서해 연안을 관측한 SAR영상에서 다수의 내부파가 관측되고 있으며 이들은 동지나해에서 관측되는 내부파들에 비하여 소규모이며 상대적으로 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이러한 내부파들은 여름철 표층 해수의 혼합을 발생시킴으로서 해양 생물학적으로 중요한 역할을 하며 대륙붕에서의 퇴적물 이동 및 음파의 전달에 있어서도 중요한 요소로서 서해의 물성 특성 연구에 있어서 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 내부파의 특성 분석을 위해서는 시공간적인 정보가 필요하며 이를 위해서는 현장 관측과 위성 관측이 동시에 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 2002년 5월 29일 현장 관측과 동시에 획득된 SAR영상을 분석하고 영상에 나타난 내부파와 동일한 내부파를 시간에 따른 수심별 등온선의 변화에서 분석 추적하였다.

슬러지-파티클 보드의 제조(製造) 가능성(可能性) 및 구성비율(構成比率)에 관한 기초연구(基礎硏究) (Fundamental Study of Manufacture Possibility and Composition Ratio of Sludge-Particle Board)

  • The aim of this research was to manufacture sludge-particle board using paper sludge with wood particle and to investigate physical and mechanical properties of various sludge-particle boards, fabricated with ratios of sludge to particle of 10 to 90, 20 to 80, 30 to 70, 40 to 60 and 50 to 50(oven dry weight based). Sludge-particle boards were manufactured by urea-formaldehyde resin, 0.8 target specific gravity, and 10mm thickness. It was possible to manufacture sludge-particle board as the same processing in the present particleboard manufacturing system. This sludge-particle board have different properties as composition ratios of sludge and particle. And sludge-particle board made from 10 percent to 20 percent of sludge mixing ratio have similar mechanical properties compared with control particleboard. Especially, the sludge-particle board made from 10 percent to 40 percent mixing ratios of sludge have superior to control particleboard in internal bond, screw withdrawal holding strength and modulus of elasticity. In the case of dimensional stability, water absorption was increased and thickness swelling was decreased as increased with sludge mixing proportion. The sludge-particle board made of different mixing ratios of our laboratory design was able to concluded that there is possibility of partial substitution of wood particle materials.

재활용 석회석 분말을 콘크리트 2차제품 혼합재로 이용하기 위한 기초적 연구 (A Basic Study to Use Recycled Limestone Powder as a Mixture for Secondary Concrete Products)

  • 본 연구에서는 재활용 석회석 분말(Recycled limestone powder, 이하 RLP라 함) 콘크리트2차제품 혼합재로 이용하기 위한 기초적인 연구로 RLP 혼입율 10%, 20%까지 압축 및 휨강도가 Plain에 비하여 동등하거나 다소 증진되는 것으로 나타났지만 30% 혼입에서는 강도가 오히려 저하하는 것으로 나타났으며,수화열 실험결과 RLP혼입율이 증가할수록 수화열은 감소하였고, 최대발열 경과 시간도 지연되는 것으로 나타났다. 건조수축실험결과 미분말인 RLP가 시멘트모르타르 내부공극을 충진시켜줌에 따라 건조수축량은 혼입률이 증가할수록 감소하였다. RLP 20%를 혼입한 콘크리트블록의 압축강도, 흡수율, 동결융해 후 압축강도 모두 한국콘크리트공업협동조합연합회의 단체표준 기준을 모두 만족한 것으로 나타나 혼합재로서 사용가능성을 확인하였다.

하계 동중국해 북부 해역에서의 해수 혼합 (Mixing of Sea Waters in the Northern Part of the East China Sea in Summer)

  • 하계 동중국해 북부 대륙붕 해역에서 해수 혼합을 연구하기 위하여 2005년 8월과 2006년 8월에 한국해양연구원 연구선 이어도호를 이용하여 해수 물성 및 난류 관측을 수행하였다. 유속 변형으로부터 산출한 난류운동에너지 소산율은 표층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}$, 저층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-6}$와 수온약층에서 $10^{-7}$ W/kg의 높은 값이 나타났다. 관측 자료는 표층의 경우 바람에 의해 지속적으로 혼합이 이루어짐을 보여주었다. 수온약층 하부에서의 높은 소산율은 내부파의 영향으로 판단된다. 저층의 높은 소산율은 저층의 탁도 분포의 경향과 일치하여 조류에 의한 해저면층 교란의 결과임을 시사해주었다. 바닥에서의 연직확산계수는 낮은 안정도와 높은 난류상태의 복합적인 영향으로 $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-2}m^2/s$로 높은 값이 나타났다.

  • LES model of a cumulus cloud is developed in which the motion of a large number of water droplets are explicitly simulated. Model provides various important information of the cloud process such as entrainment and internal mixing, the distribution of droplets within cloud, and the evolution of particle size spectrum.

폐수중 액체막에 의한 페놀의 이동 (Transport of Phenol in Waste Water Through Liquid Surfactant Membrane)

  • The transport of phenol from waste water through the liquid surfactant membrane containing Aliquat 336 as a carrier was analyzed by a theoretical model. Extraction experiments was carried out to investigate the effect of process parameters, such as mixing intensity, concentration of sodium hydroxide in internal aqueous solution, and counter anions, and initial phenol concentration in waste water at $25^{\circ}C$. It was found that transport rate of phenol increased with increasing pH differents. The transport rate of phenol in waste water was influenced by counter anions.

  • This study is focused on investigating the characteristics of internal flow of the polymer reactor and its effect on the polymer quality. Four types of polymer reactor which have different kind of impeller, baffle and operation condition were calculated by CFD. Fluent 6 have been used to simulate mixing phenomena of reactor. According to the comparison of computational results and SEM photographs of polymer particle, distribution of turbulent dissipation rate greatly influences on the quality of polymer. So, distribution of turbulent dissipation rate to be important criterion to predict polymer quality.
