Conventional marine radar systems utilize pulse radar which is capable of high-power transmissions and is effective for remote detection purposes. A pulse radar is most commonly used on medium or large vessels due to its expensive installation and maintenance costs. I propose the use of a Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar system operated at low-power and high-resolution instead of the conventional pulse-radar based system. The transmitted and received signals of the FMCW radar system were theoretically analyzed and radar signal processing design and simulation experiments were performed to detect the range and speed. Intermediate Frequency (IF) signal mixed with virtual transmit and receive signals were generated to perform FMCW radar signal processing simulations where the IF signal underwent noise reduction through a lowpass filter. The maximum frequency was derived through the sample interval of the FFT size instead of using A/D converter. This maximum frequency was used to get the frequency range and frequency speed which were in turn used to calculate the range and speed. The virtual beat frequency generated using MATLAB is utilized to analyze the beat frequency used in the actual FMCW radar system signal processing. The differences in the range and speed of the beat frequency signals are processed and analyzed.

Digital TV tuner for 8-VSB modulation was developed with satisfying the requirements of ATSC. The double frequency conversion and the active tracking filter in the front-end were used to reduce interference of the adjacent channels and multi-channels, which suppress If beat and image band. However, it was impossible to get frequency mapping between tracking filter and first VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in the double conversion digital TV tuner differing from conventional NTSC tuner. This paper, therefore, suggests the available structure and a new method for automatic frequency selection by obtaining the mapping of frequency characteristic over tracking voltage and the combined hardware which compose of Micro-controller, EEPROM, D/A(Digital-to-Analog Converter), OP amp and switch driver to solve above problems.

In this paper, we describe a solution to improve the effects of the transmitter leakage signals on the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar with a single antenna configuration. We analyze characteristics of the IF noise caused by insufficient isolation between transmitter and receiver. The magnitude of the intermediate frequency (IF) noise from a front-end can be reduced by matching the LO signal delay time with that of the largest leakage source. Because the IF noise has periodic singularities at nT$_{m}$/2, t=0,1,2$\cdots$, we find that spectrum of the IF noise due to the leakage signals is very similar to that of the VCO moduation signal except low frequency elements in the vicinity of DC. Based on the studies, we fabricated a W-band homodyne FMCW radar sensor and verified the proposed solution. The results are applicable to design of the homodyne FMCW radar with a single antenna configuration.

Low-cost, high efficiency solar cells are tremendous interests for the realization of a renewable and clean energy source. ZnTe based solar cells have a possibility of high efficiency with formation of an intermediated energy band structure by impurity doping. In this work, the ZnTe:O/CdS/ZnO structure was fabricated by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. A pulsed (10 Hz) Nd:YAG laser operating at a wavelength of 266 nm was used to produce a plasma plume from an ablated a ZnTe target, whose density of laser energy was 4.5 J/cm2. The base pressure of the chamber was kept at a pressure of approximately $4{\times}10-7Torr$. ZnO thin film with thickness of 100 nm was grown on to ITO/glass, and then CdS and ZnTe:O thin film were grown on ZnO thin film. Thickness of CdS and ZnTe:O were 50 nm and 500 nm, respectively. During deposition of ZnTe:O films, O2 gas was introduced from 1 to 20 mTorr. For fabricating ZnTe:O/CdS/ZnO solar cells, Au metal was deposited on the ITO film and ZnTe:O by thermal evaporation method. From the fabricated ZnTe:O/CdS/ZnO solar cell, current-voltage characteristics was measured by using HP 4156-a semiconductor parameter analyzer. Finally, solar cell performance was measured using an Air Mass 1.5 Global (AM 1.5 G) solar simulator with an irradiation intensity of 100 mW cm-2.

In this paper, we have studied the 8 YSB (8 Vestigial Side Band) method which is decided as the standard of modulators for next generation digital TV System. In developing digital TV System, one of the difficult problems is how digital signal can be transmitted to the receiver without any phase distortion. But, phase error is liable to occur by imperfect design, circumstance variation and device degradation. These characteristics result in distortion of 1,0 signal of modulator and interference in adjacent channels. In particular, the interference in modulator of a high power amplifier result in serious problems in adjacent channels. Here we analyzed problems of phase error which are occurred when 8 levels digital signals are modulated to If signal. And we suggested phase error compensation algorithm and discussed the results for adaptation of the algorithm
The study was designed to analyse the reorganization of the rabbit TMJ meniscus which was anteriorly displaced by surgery. The author compared the anteriorly displaced groups with control group. After surgical opening of the left rabbit TMJ space, cut the posterior attachment of the meniscus, and pushed it under the undercut area of the condyle head. Experimental groups were sacrificed by 1, 2, 4, 8 weeks after surgery. The samples were analysed with light microscope under T-B stain and electron microscope. The results were as follows: 1) The rabbit TMJ meniscus consisted of thick anterior and posterior band running different way, and comparative thin intermediate band runining antero-posteriorly. 2) Round oval shape chondrocyte-like cells were imbeded between the collagen fiber bundles and composed of proteoglycan granules, that showed metachromasia with toluidine blue, around the cell matrix. 3) Type II collagen fiber bundles in experimental group occured degenerative changes in organic patterns at 8 weeks, but those of type I collagen fiber bundles sustained longer, 4) The typical fibrocartilage of the rabbit TMJ meniscus was changed into fibrotic mode in process of time and showed the degenerative changes, which contained hyperplasia, calcification, resorption and hyalinization in the connective tissue. 5) The hyperplastic change of the synovial membrane in 4 week group and transitional change from fibrocyte to chondrocyte in cell type in 8 week group were observed. 6) The diameters of collagen fibers were diminished with the degenerative changes, the shape of the fibers became wavier and more nonorganic in running pattern and fiber bundle spaces widened.

In this paper, We proposed a broadband RF amplifier for Microwave band receiver. We also proposed a broadband RF amplifier, designed by using EM simulation for reliable amplification of the received signal. Connected to a source terminal to via, it minimizes those which are the active elements of source-side oscillation as the operating element in an ideal GND, and a constant gain characteristic in a broadband. The goal of this was to obtain stable amplification characteristics. For implementing this architecture, we designed the broadband(500 MHz ~ 7 GHz) RF amplifier by using commercial GaAs FET, which operate on 720 MHz, 4,595 MHz, and 6,035 MHz by impedance matching. The voltage gain is 10.635 dB ~ 14.407 dB(737.5 MHz ~ 6.0575 GHz), P1dB is 20 dBc of band(1st harmonic/2nd harmonic).

In this paper, we performed the design and the development of the wide-band correlation board to be an important role in the autocorrelation spectrometer's building for the observation study of an extra-galaxy's spectral lines and the survey research of the special radio sources in field of the radio astronomy. In this research, the developed correlation board by using QUAINT correlator chip(made by NRAO) has maximum 100 MHz clock speed and operate at a intermediate frequency with 400 MHz bandwidth. For the Performance test we supply the 0.5 and 1.67 MHz rectangular wave, then we obtain the autocorrelation coefficients. The final results, which process by using FFT, get the almost same results compare with the theoretical correlation.
Recent narrow-band Ca photometry discovered two distinct red giant branch (RGB) populations in some massive globular clusters (GCs) including M22, NGC 1851, and NGC 288. In order to investigate the differences in light/heavy elements abundances between the two subpopulations, we have performed low-resolution spectroscopy for stars on the two RGBs in these GCs. We find a significant difference (more than $4{\sigma}$) in calcium abundance from the spectroscopic HK' index for both M22 and NGC 1851. We also find a more than $8{\sigma}$ difference in CN band strength between the Ca-strong and Ca-weak subpopulations. For NGC 288, however, we detect the presence of a large difference only in the CN strength. The calcium abundances of the two subpopulations in this GC are identical within errors. We also find interesting differences in CN-CH relations among these GCs. While CN and CH indices are correlated in M22, they show an anti-correlation in NGC 288. However, NGC 1851 shows no difference in CH between two groups of stars having different CN strengths. The CN bimodality in these GCs could be explained by pollution from intermediate-mass asymptotic giant branch stars and/or fast-rotating massive stars. For the presence or absence of calcium bimodality and the differences in CN-CH relations, we suggest these would be best explained by how strongly type II supernovae enrichment has contributed to the chemical evolutions of these GCs.
A new digital correlator fur an airborne synthetic aperture radiometer was designed in order to replace the conventional analog correlator unit which will become very complicated while the number of channels is increasing. The digital correlator uses digital IQ demodulator instead of the intermediate frequency (IF) phase shifter to make the correlation processing performed digitally at base band instead of analogly at IF. This technique has been applied to the digital receiver in softradio. The down-converted IF signals from each pair of receiver channels become low rate base-band digital signals after under-sampled, Digitally Down-Converted (DDC), decimated and filtered by FIR filters. The digital signals are further processed by two digital multipliers (complex correlation), the products are integrated by the integrators and finally the outputs from the integrators compose of the real part and the imaginary part of a sample of the visibility function. This design is tested by comparing the results from digital correlators and that from analog correlators. They are agreed with each other very well. Due to the fact that the digital correlators are realized with the help of Analog-Digital Converter (ADC) chips and the FPGA technology, the realized volume, mass, power consumption and complexity turned out to be greatly reduced compared with that of the analog correlators. Simulations show that the resolution of ADC has an influence on the synthesized antenna patterns, but this can be neglected if more than 2bit is used.
