  • AESA radar is able to instantaneously and adaptively position and control the beam, and this enables to have interleaved mode in modern airborne AESA radar which can maximize situational awareness capability. Interleaved mode provides two or more modes simultaneously, such as Air to Air mode and Sea Surface mode by time sharing technique. In this interleaved mode, performance degradation is inevitable, compared with single mode operation, and effective resource allocation is the key component for the success of interleaved mode. In this paper, we identified performance evaluation items for each mode to analyze interleaved mode performance and proposed effective resource allocation methodology to achieve graceful performance degradation of each mode, focusing on detection range. We also proposed beam scheduling techniques for interleaved mode.

  • A multi-phase interleaved buck converter is used to reduce current ripples and filter size of a power supply. This paper addresses the modelling and steady-state analysis of the multi-phase interleaved buck converter operated in discontinuous inductor current mode. The model is derived using an averaging technique in steady state. The do voltage ratio and the range of the discontinuous inductor current mode(DICM) and the continuous output current mode(COCM) are derived from the averaged state-space model. In addition, the efficiency is investigated according to the number of phase.

  • In this paper, an interleaved boost converter (IBC) with ZVT cell using a single resonant inductor in continuous conduction mode (CCM) is proposed. The IBC with the proposed ZVT cell has advantages such as a simple circuit, reduced size and low cost by using a single resonant inductor. It is more suitable for high power applications. The proposed ZVT cell circuit and principles for the IBC are explained in detail. The validity of the IBC with proposed ZVT cell is verified through experimental results.

  • A high performance interleaved bridgeless boost power factor correction (PFC) rectifier operating under the critical current conduction mode (CrM) is proposed in this paper to improve the efficiency and system performance of various applications, such as nano-grid systems. By combining the interleaved technique with the bridgeless topology, the circuit contains two independent branches without rectifier diodes. The branches operate in interleaved mode for each respective half-line period. Moreover, when operating in CrM, all the power switches take on soft-switching, thereby reducing switching losses and raising system efficiency. In addition, the input current flows through a minimum amount of power devices. By employing a commercial PFC controller, an effective control scheme is used for the proposed circuit. The operating principle of the proposed circuit is presented, and the design considerations are also demonstrated. Simulations and experiments have been carried out to evaluate theoretical analysis and feasibility of the proposed circuit.

  • This paper presents the performance improvement of voltage-mode controlled interleaved synchronous buck converters. This is a voltage-mode controlled scheme, where the controllers do not need an external saw-tooth generator for PWM generation and the loop design is easier. The controller implementation requires only a single error amplifier and gives almost current mode control performance. The control scheme uses voltage feedback with two loops similar to current mode control: one for the slow outer loop and the other for the faster inner PWM control loop. To improve the performance of the converter system a coupled inductor is used. This coupled inductor reduces the magnetic size and also improves the converter's transient performance without increasing the steady-state current ripple. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated through PSIM simulations.

  • In this paper, interleaved boost converter is applied as a pre-regulator in switch mode power supply. Interleaved Boost Power Factor Preregulator (IBPFP) can reduce input current ripple as a simple voltage control loop only without inner current loop, because input current is divided each 50% by two switching devices. IBPFP can be classified as three cases from duty ratio condition in continuous current mode and be carried out state space averaging small signal modeling. According to modeling, the PID controller is applied and voltage control loop is constructed for suitable design condition. From frequency domain analysis, it is verified that control system is satisfied with design condition of switch mode power supply.

  • In this paper, interleaved boost converter is applied as a pre-regulator in switched mode power supply. The pre-regulator plays a role to improve power factor. Interleaved Boost Power Factor Corrector(IBPFC) can reduce input current ripple as a single voltage control loop only without inner current loop, because input current is divided each 50% by two switching devices. Each converter cell is also operated in discontinuous current mode and inductor current of each converter is discontinuous. Total input current which is composed by each converter cell is continuous current. Thus, IBPFC is able to improve input current ripple. IBPFC operating in discontinuous current mode can be classified as six modes from switching state and be carried out state space averaging small signal modeling. A control transfer function is obtained according to the modeling. Single voltage control loop is also constructed by the control transfer function. From experimental result, improvement of power factor and input current ripple are verified.

  • In this paper, using interleaved power factor correction how to improve the inverter efficiency studied. Interleaved method can reduce the conduction losses and the inductor energy. Generally, critical conduction mode (CRM) boost PFC converter used low power level because of the high peak currents. if you use the interleaved mode, CRM PFC can be used medium or high power application. interleaved CRM PFC can reduce current ripple for higher system reliability and size of buck capacitor and EMI filter size. Interleaved CRM PFC that is installed in front of inverter can maintain the constant voltage regardless of the input voltage.

  • In this paper a DSP based control scheme for the interleaved boost converter is presented. The mathematical model for the interleaved boost converter operating in a continuous inductor current mode is developed. A state-space averaging technique is used for modeling the converter system. A fixed frequency sliding mode controller is designed to ensure current distribution between the two converter modules and to achieve the load voltage regulation simultaneously. Necessary and sufficient conditions, using variable structure theory, are derived for the sliding mode to exist. The range of sliding mode controller coefficients is also determined. The designed controller capability, load distribution among the individual boost cells and load voltage regulation against source and load disturbances, are demonstrated through PSIM simulation results. A real-time controller based on ADMC401 DSP is developed. Experimental results are provided to validate the proposed control scheme.
