This paper presents a new methodology to calculate an optimal solution of equilibrium to power system differential algebraic equations. It employs a nonlinear interior point method for solving the optimization formulation, which includes dynamic equations representing two-axis synchronous generator models with AVR and speed governing control, algebraic equations, and steady-state nonlinear loads. Equilibrium optimization (EOPT) is useful for diverse purposes in power system analysis and control with consideration of the system frequency constraint.

Let G be a Denjoy domain and let G' a Denjoy proper subdomain of G and homeomorphic to G. We consider conformal re-imbeddings of G' into G. Let G and G' are N-connected. We know that if N = 2, there is a re-imbedding f of G' into G such that G - cl(f(G')) has an interior point. In this note, we obtain the following theorem. If $N{\geq}3$, G has a Denjoy proper subdomain G' such that, for any re-imbeddings f of G' into G, G - cl(f(G') has no interior point.

In this paper, we propose a new interior point method for solving nonlinear complementarity problems. In this method, we use a new profitable searching direction and instead of using the logarithmic quadratic term, we use a square root quadratic term. We prove the global convergence of the proposed method under the assumption that F is monotone. Some preliminary computational results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

The endowed privilege to an established profession acts as an important motivation related to professionalization of occupations. The established profession enjoys cognitive, legal, and economic privilege. This study analyzes the professionalization process of interior design. Specifically, the study evaluates the suitability of the body of knowledge and professional ethos(i.e., protection of citizen's health, safety, and welfare), while analyzing the professionalization of interior design in the United States. The research aims at proposing a reference point for the professionalization of Korean interior design. Utilized data include research paper, court sentencing, and reports published by related professional organizations. The study concludes that 3E's are a means of professionalization of interior design, while separating interior design from interior decorating. In addition, there is no evidence to the protection of citizen's HSW. Rather, it increases service costs and restricts the job opportunities. When the public is not persuaded, the argument related to the necessity of license for the protecting citizen's HSW can be consumed as a mere rhetoric, concealing intentions for formulating a cartel. Thus, this study proposes that the professionalization of interior design may focus on the establishment of identity and body of knowledge, which are specific to interior design.

The purpose of this study is to find out the symbolic meaning of interior color a the chosun dynasty's upper class houses, and to review it from a point of view of the Western coloring harmony theory. from this study, the Oriental philosophy, the ideas of Confucianism, and the ethnic traits influenced the interior color of the Chosun Dynasty's upper class houses like an-bang or sarang-bang. The results indicated that main color, auxiliary color, accent color were harmonized with similar harmony by hue and with contrast harmony by value and chroma. Therefore, interior color image of Korean traditional houses should be applied to the various design field as well as modern interior desigv.

The purpose of this study is to suggest specific function of each areas and way to express reasonable interior elements within interior design of sports center in Korea. The method of this research is case study of sports center In various fields since 1980. During the study, it Is very clear that the most important points in designing of sports centers interior space to accomodate main body training areas and service area for the users. The other point is to explain within the space plan that there should be a clear understanding of general regulation for the installation element, function and behavioral facts. The social, cultural roles of sports center must have the function as a multi service facility. In summary this research is to present datas and suggestion to various areas in sports center and refine its new meaning of sports center space plan with much better designing.

With the improved quality of life standards interior design is recently gaining more concerns than ever before. This requires more well organized and standardized business and marketing in the field. Consequently, a few interior design firms concern about computerizing their marketing process to do this. This paper focuses on developing a computerized consulting system assisting interior design. For this a standardized consulting process is developed. The process includes the input of customer's information, surveying customer's preferences on interior design styles, estimation and budget adjustment, suggesting packages and interior items, and printing consulting results. The system developed is valuable in three different viewpoints: First, from the customer's view it can be a decision-making tool. Second, from the consultant's point of view it is a front-end marking tool. Third, it is an information collector from the viewpoint of an interior design firm.
