Now, 1 person or 2 people households have increased in Korea. But the quality of living environment of small houses and small houses supply for university students are insufficient. The purpose of this study is to propose the types and spaces of small houses, and the elements and types of interior space planning of small houses for university students. This study surveyed 293 university students lived in metropolitan area. And the methods of this study are literature review and survey. Through this study, the conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the types of small houses are 9 types, and the types of interior space planning of small houses are 10 types. Seconds, the introduction of natural elements and spatial separation based on openness in small houses for university students are necessary. Thirds, the spatial planning for security and safety in small houses for university students are necessary. Fourth, the planning of various storage space and space maintenance of small houses are necessary. Fifths, generally, the consideration of functional elements as 'safety', 'storage', and natural elements as 'ventilation', 'view' and 'daylighting' in small houses are necessary for university students.

M.C Escher was not a mathematician or architect, but a visual graphic woodblock artist. He expresses space in various angles such as illusion and space not represented in reality, repetition, geometric pattern and change in space vision. However, as his works represent the impossible space which is virtually not exist in reality, they were examined numerically by scientists and mathematicians rather than by designers. Because his distinctive approach to view space, his works have been highly evaluated by scholars in various fields. Based on the previous research by mathematicians and scientists, this study will examine the sp- atial logic was represented visually in the works of M.C Escher and find out the possible and adoptable alternatives for new space design and provide the design application direction in the expression of interior space.

The Principle of space composition in modern architecture is thought about functionalism that based on function and program but the present age attempt that escapes form of former space composition. The present age brings fast development than former ages, so we need the space which has correct flexibility on New Age for escaping in existing structural formality. Specially, the space that boundary of existing plate, column and wall is crumbled as becoming possible technological support with social backgrounds. What this study saying is the analysis about the relation between the concept of topology and the consecutive space composition. Therefore, there is the purpose understanding a characteristic of continuity of the plate through the topological concept and understanding the roll in interior space.

Day care center for the elderly is an alternative for community care for frail elderly who need social participation and physical cares and services outside the family. The purpose of this study was to identify the present situation of day care center for the elderly and to suggest desirable interior space plans for elderly day care center. Data were collected by two ways; a mail survey and case studies of existing day care centers. Five cases of day care centers were analyzed to find out Physical and space problems, available programs and services. Also, the staffs in 96 day care centers for the elderly in nationwide were selected for a mail survey and 68.8 percentage of all was collected and analyzed. From the result of case studies, narrow space and lack of accessibility features for wheelchair or other prosthetic devices were the major problems. From the result of a mail survey analysis, the elderly users were over 73 years old, and high proportion had suffered from dementia and apoplexy Also, staffing ration was 1:7 In other words, one staff was caring of 7 old people, and supporting staff was insufficient. Therefore, supportive, therapeutic environment Was more important issue to improve quality of care. Separate program room and outdoor space, lounging space, treatment room by gardening, separate counselling room, bedroom, a simple kitchen unit, staff office, separate physical treatment room, resting room for staff was indicated more necessarily. When priority of planning interior space was safety followed by accessability and convenience, it was also reported that sire of each room was generally narrow. The most serious problem in interior space was the lack and narrowness of space, and accessible features for mobility. Based on the literature review and the findings of this study, two types of floor plans for elderly day care center were suggested;‘a mixed type for the elderly with and without dementia’and‘a separate type for the elderly with dementia.’The main goals for designing interior space for two types of elderly day care center were to provide safe environment, encouraging environment for remaining abilities of users, sanitary environment, therapeutic environment, familiar environment, and socially-encouraging environment. The recommendations for further studies were suggested.

Contemporary design of food and beverage(F&B) space reflects various needs, not only of eating, but also environmental ones. As a way of meeting this conceptual change and the various needs of contemporary consumers, kitsch expression is often utilized actively. Thus, this study intends to analyze the design characteristics and methods of kitsch expression found in contemporary F&B space and their correlations with sensitivity factors, focusing on relevant cases. Specifically, it examined the definition, origin, and changes of kitsch, and identified the sensitive role of kitsch in interior space. Next, it classified the kitsch characteristics and design methods found in interior design, finally analyzing the characteristics of kitsch expressions in contemporary F&B space by sensitivity factors and their correlations with design methods. As a consequence, it was found that the attempts in contemporary F&B space design to differentiate space through active introduction of various kitsch expressions were fulfilling the sensitive needs of changing consumers by providing new cultural experiences. That is, such attempts are considered to have improved the satisfaction of consumers who value sensitivity, by means of wide exchange of sensitivity between designers and consumers. To raise the sensitive satisfaction of consumers more in future, it is necessary to further continuous and in-depth research on the correlation between kitsch expressions and sensitivity factors in interior design.

Now days is the age of brands. We are very close to the brands. The brands are found in every comer of our life, delivering messages endlessly. This study purposed to analyze on how to brand images express in a fashion shop of Interior design. This study used comparison and analyze base on social space and experience space each fashion shop. Holography provides a medium for creative visual experiences in space and scale. It has been firmly established as a tool for scientific and engineering studies. It could be creatively used in interior architecture and display as a practical device and as a form of art. Basic principles and features of holography are explained. Design of the holographic systems are illustrated in some interior architectural applications. It is believed that holographic elements can make a valuable contribution to interior architecture design by controlling light and creating new concepts of colour and space.

Art-Wall is the term for a surface wall representing artistic expression by using different materials or images in interior spaces. Usually this is the focal point in an interior space and sometimes it called as an image wall. In the new millenium Art-walls began to use in living spaces. While in the early stages of the development, Art-Wall was limited in a living room, in contemporary it spread into overall living spaces using various patterns and materials. Therefore, the research on Art-Walls in contemporary living spaces is essential to understand this development. The purpose of this study is to find out characteristics of patterns on Art-Walls as an imagery element in contemporary interior spaces. To analyze the characteristic, the analysis table for Art-Walls are constructed based on classifications of wallpapers and textiles. Based on this analysis table, 89 examples of Art-Walls from four major periodicals from 2008 to 2009 were examined. As a result of the analysis, in contemporary interior spaces solid-texture pattern is most frequently appeared. Then natural motifs are the next most popular using oversized or irregular layouts. The result shows that naturalistic expression is significant in interior space in 2008 to 2009. Therefore, Art-Walls that adapted diverse patterns are an essential element in contemporary interiors to represent the major concept of the space.

The purpose of this study is to grasp the application tendency of interior accessories in Korean residential spaces. The main resources were selected documents and articles with pictures published 27 years, from 1976 to 2002, in Modern House, which is the first magazine for the residential space in Korea. The major findings are summarized as follows: 1) Interior accessories were investigated more for functional reasons than decorative reasons. Despite the belief that interior accessories are Primarily for decoration purposes, this study proves that the functional elements are more important as part of the Korean interior. 2) The kind and the amount of interior accessories applied in residential space were decreasing in most accessories as well as in master bedroom, and living rooms from 1994 to 2002. 3) The number of application to Korean traditional accessories in residential space decreases as time goes by. Although they were used as functional accessories as the role of antiques in present.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of 'Nomadic thought' in interior space through the understanding and interpretation of the contemporary nomadic life. The citizens in modern times lead a nomadic life on the move rather than settle down in place, and this pattern of life is going with increasing speed keeping in step with the development of the Internet. From this point of view, this theoretical investigation on the relationship between the interior architectural analysis and their applications through nomadic thought as a new paradigm is to establish the basis of interior design in the capacity of the main value system in our new generation and to explore the new notion of interior space
