고속회전기 적용을 위한 매입형 영구자석 전동기의 설계 및 실험적 검증 (Design and Experimental Verification of an Interior Permanent Magnet Motor for High-speed Machines)

  • On account of small size and light weight, a high-speed machine is regarded as a key technology for many future applications of drive systems. In high-speed applications, permanent magnet synchronous motors have a number of merits such as high efficiency and high power density. Therefore, they are suitable for driving the air-blower of a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) where space and energy savings are critical. Particularly, a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) of them is mainly used as a high-speed machine. However, the motor has a fatal flaw due to a retaining can to maintain the mechanical integrity of a rotor assembly. The can results in the increase of magnetic air-gap length in the SPMSM. Thus, in this paper, an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is applied in order to drive the air-blower of FCEV instead of the SPMSM, and the experimental results of two models are compared to verify the capability of the IPMSM for high-speed applications.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear controller based on adaptive back-stepping method is proposed for high performance operation of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM). First, in order to improve the performance of speed tracking, a nonlinear back-stepping controller is designed. In addition, since it is difficult to achieve the high quality control performance without considering parameter variation, a parameter estimator is included to adapt to the variation of load torque in real time. Finally, for the efficiency of power consumption of the motor, controller is designed to operate motor with the minimum current for the required maximum torque. The proposed controller is tested through experiment with a 1-hp Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) for the angular velocity reference tracking performance and load torque volatility estimation, and to test the Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) operation. The result verifies the efficacy of the proposed controller.

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss the reasons creating the difference between inductances calculated and measured in the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor designed for the traction. Moreover, the method applied to estimate the inductance is introduced in this paper.

  • An interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) is receiving increased attention for many industrial applications because of its high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency. This paper presents algorithm for speed sensorless vector control based on an Instantaneous Reactive Power. Effectiveness or algorithm is confirmed by the experiments.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor [IPMSM] which has high power density is applied to motor for Hybrid electric vehicle[HEV], Electric vehicle[EV], Fuel cell electric vehicle[FCEV] and electric home appliances. In order to improve efficiency performance of IPMSM, this paper presented a study by making a hole around air barrier. Because concentrated rib stress is distributed by suitable hole, the hole can reduce rib thickness of IPM rotor. And it can help decrease PM[Permanent Magnet] leakage flux. Saliency ratio($L_q/L_d$) is also increased by magnetic circuit change. For this study, structure analysis of rotor is performed by Ansys program.

  • 본 논문은 위치 및 속도 검출기가 없는 매입형 영구자석 전동기(interior permanent magnet motor, 이하 IPMM)의 위치 제어 기법에 관한 것이다. IPMM은 기본적으로 자기적인 돌극성(magnetic saliency)을 가지고 있지만, 그것은 부하 조건에 의해 쉽게 변하는 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 제어 성능이 쉽게 떨어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 방법과 같이 그 돌극성. 혹은 임피던스 차이를 이용한다. 하지만, 회전자 위치 정보를 나타내는 임피던스 차이를 극대화하고 어떤 부하 조건에서도 성능을 유지하기 위한 고주파 신호 주입 방법이 제안된다. 제안된 방법은 IPMM의 위치 및 속도 검출기가 없는 센서리스 제어를 가능하게 한다. 단위 전류 당 최대 토오크 제어도 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 위해 다양한 부하 조건에서 IPMM의 토오크와 고주파 임피던스 특성을 분석한다. 그 특성을 기본으로 하는 속도 및 위치 추정 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 회전자 위치와 관련된 고주파 임피던스 성분을 추출한다. 실험 결과를 통해 여러 부하 조건에서 제안된 방법의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • The detent force of a permanent magnet linear motor(PMLM) consists of the end force and cogging force, and should be reduced for high precision purpose applications. The cogging force comes from the electromagnetic interaction between the permanent magnets and interior teeth(or the slots) of the stator, and of which the magnitude depends on the ratio of the numbers of the armature and permanent magnet poles as well as the geometrical shape of the permanent magnet and armature pole. In order to reduce the cogging force of a PMLM, this paper proposes a new configuration which has 9 permanent magnet poles and 10 armature winding slots. By theoretical investigation of the principle of cogging force generation and simulating using finite element method, the proposed PMLM configuration is proven to give much less cogging force than the conventional configuration which has 8 permanent magnet poles and 12 armature winding slots. A proper winding algorithm, modified (A, A, A) winding method, for the proposed configuration is also suggested when the proposed PMLM is operating as a 3 phase synchronous machine. A theoretical and numerical calculation shows that the proposed configuration makes slightly bigger back-emf and thrust force under same exciting current and total number of winding turns condition.

  • There are two kinds of the synchronous motor, one is an induction type motor started without a driving system, the other is the one started with an external driving system. but, both are complicated. Nowadays, in order to devoid for the synchronous motor being complicated in design, line start permanent magnet(LSPM) motors are being developed. The LSPM motor is composed of the rotor that has interior permanent magnet and aluminum bar instead of general rotor. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the LSPM motor which has both characteristics of an induction motor and a synchronous motor, and we compared the the LSPM motor characteristics with the induction motor.

An Asymmetric Rotor Design of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Improving Torque Performance

  • Torque ripple is necessarily generated in interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) due to the non-sinusoidal distribution of flux density in the air gap and the magnetic reluctance by stator slots. This paper deals with an asymmetric rotor shape to reduce torque ripple which can make sinusoidal flux density distribution in the air gap. Meanwhile the average torque is relatively increased by the asymmetric rotor. Response surface method (RSM) is applied to find the optimum position of the permanent magnets for the IMPSM with improved torque performance. Consequently, an asymmetric structure is the result of RSM and the structure has disadvantage of a mechanical stiffness. Finally, the performance of suggested shape is verified by finite element analysis and structural analysis is conducted for the mechanical stiffness.

  • 차세대 고속 전철용 매입형 영구자석 전동기의 효율 및 매입된 자석의 감자를 방지하기 위해서 정확한 철손해석과 철손특성을 이해하는 것은 전동기 설계단계에서 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 견인전동기의 약계자 제어 및 최대토크 제어와 같은 구동상황을 고려하여 운전영역별 철손해석을 수행하고 특성을 분석하고자 한다.
