Development of Pervaporation System Simulator (투과증발 시스템 모사기 개발)

  • A simulator has been developed in order to simulate and to be used to design the pervaporation system for separating organic/water mixtures. This simulator is composed of simulation engine, which includes a modeling of pervaporation system and the numerical analysis, and Graphical User Interface(GUI), which enables us to operate the simulator more easily in the Windows environment. The structure and operation of simulator were clearly presented by demonstrating the full-scale ethanol dehydration process. The performance of simulator turned out to be fairly good through comparing the simulation results with the experimental data of ethanol dehydration pilot tests.

  • In the previous research, we proposed a Kinetic typography font engine that can easily add motion to text with function call only. However, since it is aimed at constructing movements for a sentence, there is still inconvenience in the production of various kinetic typography motions in word or letter unit. We propose Kinetic Typical Extended Motion API(Application Programming Interface) that extends Kinetic Motion API. The extended Kinetic Typographic Font Engine aims to simplify the process of making kinetic typography in words and letters, including the kinetic typographic motion library provided as a function. In addition, various applications that can apply Kinetic typography A kinetic typography authoring interface is provided for facilitating the construction of a motion library for the robot.

  • This study was carried out to develop a microcomputer-based data acquisition and control system which was able to collect the data of engine performance test automatically and control the speed and load of the engine. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The signal processing devices, which were able to measure cylinder pressure, coolant temperature, compositions of exhaust gas, fuel consumption, engine rpm and torque etc., were developed. The results of calibration showed that all of devices had high accuracy ranging from 0.3% to 0.69% respectively. 2. The PIA (peripheral interface adapter) for interfacing digital signal and PTM (programmable timer module) for displaying real time every 0.0408 sec were designed and developed. 3. An engine-speed control system using a stepping motor and driver was developed. The control system had the stability, and faster settling time than the manual control system. 4. The automatic control system of electrical dynamometer, which was able to control the speed and load of dynamometer, was developed with a SSD (shackleton system driver) and D/A converter. 5. The computer programs, which were able to collect and process the data of engine tests, were developed using both the machine language and BASIC.

  • Each on-board equipment providing navigational and engine information has different signals. These signals should be analyze, be transformed to the standard digital form and be transmitted to each client on board through the earlier developed ILU (integrated LAN unit). Therefore this paper was to analyze the signals of each equipment for navigation and engine and was to use the serial technology necessary for the equipment and IDU (information display unit). And this paper was then to develop an SIU (ship's interface unit) and to test it onboard.

  • In the wide area surveillance system including many CCTVs, application for remote realtime monitoring is designed and implemented. The applications using Xcode provide secure administrator interface from headquarters. Through the efficient and intuitive interface, it delivers real-time context reports and inference results. For the user convenience, it includes push alarm of events, SNS, Media streaming service for real-time monitoring uses Wirecast and Wowza media server. Wowza stream engine provides URL accommodating development specification. Mobile devices can receive real-time stream data. Performance evaluation in the processing is provided.

  • This study aims to design the structure of User Interface Agent System through finding out the user's intention on internet search engine. When building an agent system by using the intelligent method. we can Introduce the RBR system that is generally accepted as an efficient means of solving the problems in Interface Agent System. The RBR system turned out to be a success due to the modularity, uniformity naturalness and the like, but it also has various problems such as bottle-neck in knowledge acquisition, memory absence and limited application. To get rid of such problems, the CBR cycle was introduced in this study.

  • Google's android-based voice interface is limited to the web application and the users are rare. In this paper, We suggest the method that can be done using existing android-based voice engine and develope voice application. We also study the environments of android-based voice interface and present the appropriate voice interface in mobile environment.

  • The main propulsion system may be the most complicated of the shipboard systems. Many factors such as fuel economy, weight, space, first cost, reliability, vibration and noise must be considered when selecting the prime mover of the main propulsion system for ships. An expert system is a computer program that represents and reasons with knowledge of some specialist subject with a view to solving problems or giving advice. Recently, it is being developed increasingly with wider applications in many industries. This paper describes development of knowledge-based system for main engine selection of ships using general purpose expert system development tool, Nexpert Object. Developed system is consist of ship performance estimation module such as resistance and propulsion, data base for main engine, knowledge base for main engine selection in Nexpert Object and graphic user interface.
