  • Text has evolved along with the history of art as a means of communicating human intentions and emotions. In addition, text visualization artworks have been combined with the social form and contents of new media to produce social messages and related meanings. Recently, in text visualization artworks combined with digital media, communication forms with viewers are changing instantly and interactively, and viewers are actively participating in creating artworks by direct engagement. Interactive text visualization with additional viewer's interaction, generates external dynamics from text shapes and internal dynamics from embedded meanings of text. The purpose of this study is to propose a visual dynamics model to express the dynamics of text and to implement a text visualization system based on the model. It uses the deconstruction of the imaged text to create an interactive text visualization system that reacts to the gestures of the viewer in real time. Visual Transformation synchronized with the intentions of the viewer prevent the text from remaining in the interpretation of language symbols and extend the various meanings of the text. The visualized text in various forms shows visual dynamics that interpret the meaning according to the cultural background of the viewer.

  • As the recent developments of artificial intelligence, particularly machine-learning, impact every aspect of society, they are also increasingly influencing creative fields manifested as new artistic tools and inspirational sources. However, as more artists integrate the technology into their creative works, the issues of diversity and fairness are also emerging in the AI-based creative practice. The data dependency of machine-learning algorithms can amplify the social injustice existing in the real world. In this paper, we present an interactive visualization system for raising the awareness of the diversity and fairness issues. Rather than resorting to education, campaign, or laws on those issues, we have developed a web & ML-based interactive data visualization system. By providing the interactive visual experience on the issues in interesting ways as the form of web content which anyone can access from anywhere, we strive to raise the public awareness of the issues and alleviate the important ethical problems. In this paper, we present the process of developing the ML-based interactive visualization system and discuss the results of this project. The proposed approach can be applied to other areas requiring attention to the issues.

  • A visual analysis approach and the developed supporting technology provide a comprehensive solution for analyzing large and complex integrated genomic and biomedical data. This paper presents a methodology that is implemented as an interactive visual analysis technology for extracting knowledge from complex genetic and clinical data and then visualizing it in a meaningful and interpretable way. By synergizing the domain knowledge into development and analysis processes, we have developed a comprehensive tool that supports a seamless patient-to-patient analysis, from an overview of the patient population in the similarity space to the detailed views of genes. The system consists of multiple components enabling the complete analysis process, including data mining, interactive visualization, analytical views, and gene comparison. We demonstrate our approach with medical scientists on a case study of childhood cancer patients on how they use the tool to confirm existing hypotheses and to discover new scientific insights.

  • In this paper we present an overview of existing state of the art visualization techniques fur the interactive analysis of results from numerical simulations and measurements. We describe the basic concepts and key ideas behind these different visualization methods in this paper. The potential of these techniques for an efficient integration into a virtual reality environment will be investigated. Furthermore we present our first demonstrator fur visualizing multiparametric data and give an outlook on our plans for further exploiting and developing these techniques in an upcoming project.

  • Purpose Interactive 3D visualization system through remote data transmission over heterogeneous network is growing due to the improvement of internet based real time streaming technology. Materials and Methods The current internet's IP layer has several weaknesses against IP spoofing or IP sniffing type of network attacks since it was developed for reliable packet exchange. In order to compensate the security issues with normal IP layer, we designed a remote medical visualization system, based on Virtual Private Network. Results Particularly in hospital, if there are many surgeons that need to receive the streaming information, too much load on the gateway can results in deficit of processing power and cause the delay. Conclusion End to end security through the network method would be required.

  • Currently the amount and variety of data being generated is unprecedented and dramatically changes the way individuals, groups, and societies act and make decisions. Visualization is one of the most important commonly used methods of analyzing and interpreting digital assets and the interactive environments are necessary to enable effective discovery and decision making. In this paper we present several examples and approaches to scalable functional representations and interactive visualization and analysis. The functional representations provide us unified, compact, continuous, multi-scale, and compressed representations in the data domain.

  • In this paper, we proposed new software for 3D rendering of MR images in the medical domain using C# wrapper of Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and Microsoft .NET framework. Our objective in developing this software was to provide medical image segmentation, 3D rendering and visualization of hippocampus for diagnosis of Alzheimer disease patients using DICOM Images. Such three dimensional visualization can play an important role in the diagnosis of Alzheimer disease. Segmented images can be used to reconstruct the 3D volume of the hippocampus, and it can be used for the feature extraction, measure the surface area and volume of hippocampus to assist the diagnosis process. This software has been designed with interactive user interfaces and graphic kernels based on Microsoft.NET framework to get benefited from C# programming techniques, in particular to design pattern and rapid application development nature, a preliminary interactive window is functioning by invoking C#, and the kernel of VTK is simultaneously embedded in to the window, where the graphics resources are then allocated. Representation of visualization is through an interactive window so that the data could be rendered according to user's preference.
