  • Interactive CATV system is under development to provide multimedia applications such as movies on demand, home shopping, etc. In addition to the conventional analog cable TV services. This system applies international standard DAVIC, ATM forum, DSM-CC etc. The system adopts modular architecture design approach so that the system can be adaptive to the fast moving technology wavefront. In this article, interactive CATV system and essential elements such as video server, delivery network and Set-Top-Box(STB) and related international standardization are introduced.

  • The primary objective of this paper is to develop an interactive computer graphic aided decision su, pp.rt system for the design of inspection plans for complex production systems. This research first develops a computer simulator, called Simulator for Inspection Systems(SIS), in order to represent the production system as a network model. The simulator elicits fundamental information about the system from the decision maker(DM) in an interactive manner. A decision su, pp.rt system is then proposed by combining SIS and Compromise Programming. The system simulates a set of possible inspection strategies implicitly, observes all the important measurements about the inspection system, and employs the compromise programming a, pp.oach to help the DM determine the best compromising allocation of inspection effort considering his/her preferences. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is evaluated using two test cases. The pros and cons of the system are also discussed.

사용자 모션데이터를 활용한 디지털 공간디자인 프로세스 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Digital Space Design Process Using User′s Motion Data)

  • The purpose of this study is to develope'a digital space design process using user's motion data' through a theoretical and experimental study. In the progress of developing a developing of design process, this study was concentrated on searching a digital method applying user's interactive reflections. As introducing a concept of space form being generated by user's experiences, we proposed'a digital design process using user's motion data'. In the experimental stage, user's motion data were extracted and transferred as digital information by user behavior analysis, optical motion capture system, immersive VR system, 3D softwares com computer programming. As the result of this study, another useful digital design process was embodied by building up a digital form-transforming method using 3D softwares providing internal algorithm. This study would be meaningful in terms of attempting a creative and interactive digital space design method, avoiding dehumanization of existing ones through the theoretical study and the experimental approach.

  • The conventional LCL filter design method of the utility interactive inverter considers only harmonics attenuation of the current injected to the grid. However, in case of utility-interactive inverter with critical load the voltage quality of the critical load should also be considered for LCL filter design. Also, considering cost and volume of LCL filters. it is important to have minimum values of inductance and capacitance as far as the harmonic standards are satisfied. In this paper a LCL filter design method is proposed to satisfy not only the harmonic standards of the grid current during the grid-connected mode but the voltage quality of the critical load during grid-connected mode and stand-alone mode. With the proposed method optimized values of LCL filters could be obtained by applying weighting factor to voltage ripple across the critical load, inductor volume, amount of reactive current and system bandwidth.

자유곡선의 모델링기능을 활용한 대화식 수퍼요트 프로파일 설계시스템 개발 (An Interactive Design System for Construction of Superyacht Profiles based on Freeform Curve Functionality)

  • As a preliminary step to build a complete superyacht hull design program, the development of superyacht profile design system is introduced. The two-dimensional hull profile is decomposed into four local zones depending upon the functionality and connecting continuity of the profile. Characteristics of each zone are investigated and used to generate the model describing the geometric shape of zone using freeform curves. A set of design parameters is derived from the established geometric model. Generation and modification of a model are is by manipulating the chosen parameters. Four zones designed are integrated to form a final profile. An interactive design system performing all the modeling and modification processes is implemented using the graphic user interface system based an Microsoft Foundation Class and OpenCASCADE, a open graphic library. The shapes of the profiles generated by the developed design system are verified with those of built superyachts. The developed design system will be used for the construction of three-dimensional superyacht hull modeling system.

  • In smart era, concept of User experience has been an important issue both in academic and practical areas in recent years. Interactive space became one of the major design paradigms. For elevating the interactive effect, we need user?centered design methodology which uses the influential factors on the interactivity. As, well developed information technology made a lot of changes to various fields of our society, interactive space with the concept of HCI became a big issue in environmental design field. In this interactive space, various types of informative factors of the given space are sent using sensor and computer networking technology to the main system. So, a user's movement in the space in more than just a movement itself-user's movement now forms a important spatial structure that leads the narrative of the space. in this research, I will come up with the problems that the interactive space has right now, and analyze what the public space must have, and combine them with interactive space by HCI theory. architecture space is not the old space adapting digital technology. In order to take the role as new space paradigm. environment and technology, it has to develop technology continuously and experimental space at the same time. It must have co-evolution of architecture space field and others through organic network. by that, the evolution of space will be in the way that combines space which is responded to human emotion and user centric human friendly.

  • 본 논문은 인터랙션 디자인 관련 디자이너들이 기능적 프로토타입(Working Prototype)을 제작할 때 쉽게 활용할 수 있는 저작 도구 MIDAS(Media Interaction Design Authoring System)를 제안하며, 그에 관련된 조사 연구와 사례 연구를 통해 검증된 유용성에 관해 기술한다. MIDAS는 기술적 구현 경험이 부족한 디자이너들이 디지털 아날로그 입 출력 제어, 소프트웨어-하드웨어 통합, 혼합 현실 기술 등을 디자이너들이 사용하는 기존 멀티미디어 제작 환경 내에서 간편히 응용할 수 있게 한다. 디자이너들에게 필요한 인터랙티브 제품 프로토타이핑 도구의 요구 사항을 도출하기 위해 인터랙션 디자인 과정 고찰, 관련 연구 분석, 실무 디자이너 인터뷰를 수행 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 널리 활용되고 있는 멀티미디어 저작 도구인 디렉터와 플래시를 기반으로 프로토타이핑 도구를 개발하였다. 이 도구를 활용하여 다양한 인터랙션 디자인 프로젝트 사례 연구를 진행하였다. 사례연구를 통하여 디자이너들이 기존 디자인 구현 과정에서 겪던 기술적인 어려움들이 MIDAS를 통해 효과적으로 해소함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 프로토타이핑 도구 및 방법은 인터랙티브 제품 디자인 영역 이외에도 인터랙티브 미디어아트, 탠저블 인터페이스와 연관된 인간 컴퓨터 상호작용 (Human Computer Interaction)분야의 교육 및 연구에도 기여 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, which aims at the integration o( power quality improvement and demand side management. The main purpose of the proposed system is to achieve the peak power cutting and to compensate the current harmonics and reactive power at the point of installation on power distribution for residential homes. paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, In this paper, the basic principle and control algorithm is analyzed, theoretically and the design methodology of the system is discussed. To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results for 1 KVA load capacity is presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 변형된 돌연변이 연산자를 적용한 대화형 유전자 알고리즘을 사용해서 웹-기반 학습 콘텐츠를 개발하였다. 대화형 유전자 알고리즘은 주로 상호 교환(reciprocal exchange) 돌연변이를 사용한다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 학습자의 학습 효과를 높이기 위해 돌연변이 연산자를 변형하였다. 그리고, 대화형 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 웹 기반 학습 콘텐츠는 동적인 학습 내용과 실시간 테스트 시스템을 제공한다. 특히 학습자가 자신의 특성과 흥미에 따라 대화형 유전자 알고리즘을 수행하면서 효율적인 학습 환경과 콘텐츠 배열 순서를 선택할 수 있다.

  • A human-friendly interactive system, based on the harmonious symbiotic coexistence of humans and robots, is explored. Based on this interactive technology paradigm, a robotic cane is designed to help blind or visually impaired travelers to navigate safely and quickly among obstacles and other hazards faced by blind pedestrians. We outline a set of the hardware solutions and working methodologies that can be used for successfully implementing and extending the interactive technology to complex environments, robots, and humans. The issues discussed include the interaction of human and robot, design issue of robotic cane, hardware requirements for efficient human-robot interaction.
