  • The text has always been an important recording channel for the development of human civilization. The delete text function is essential. The current method of deleting text is to "press" the delete button to complete the operation. It does not meet the user's need to delete large amounts of text. This article focuses on a new interactive approach to this problem. We consider problems and find solutions from the perspective of zero-order position control and first-order rate control. Through experimental design analysis and comparison, the new keyboard interaction method greatly improves efficiency and user experience. This article hopes to evaluate the usability of the new keyboard through usability studies.

  • This paper's objective is the analysis of eye-movement recording with visual perception process, the inference of heuristic guidelines with human information processing, and the generation of design principles for practical works. For this objective, it was experimented on that the user's eye-movement recording of interactive media with the Eyegaze Interface System, and analyzed the visual perception process of top-down & bottom-up processing, and inferred the design principles from human information process. Our results provide the implications of design through the analysis of the user's eye-movement recording that were changed according to each menu depth of the interactive media. And, it is proposed that the new concept of heuristic guidelines based on each stage of action that is related to human factors.

  • This paper describes a design model for conceptual design of ship. Existing design models have some problems. For example, operating environment of batch versions can not reflect design procedure of real world truely and reliability of results are not high because means of performance estimation are based only on empirical formula. To improve these problems of existing design models, a new design model has been developed. The new model consists of interactive environment with databases of main engine and existing ship data. To develop user-oriented system, graphic user interface(GUI) is adapted.

  • As a preliminary step to build a complete superyacht hull design program, the development of superyacht profile design system is introduced. The two-dimensional hull profile is decomposed into four local zones depending upon the functionality and connecting continuity of the profile. Characteristics of each zone are investigated and used to generate the model describing the geometric shape of zone using freeform curves. A set of design parameters is derived from the established geometric model. Generation and modification of a model are is by manipulating the chosen parameters. Four zones designed are integrated to form a final profile. An interactive design system performing all the modeling and modification processes is implemented using the graphic user interface system based an Microsoft Foundation Class and OpenCASCADE, a open graphic library. The shapes of the profiles generated by the developed design system are verified with those of built superyachts. The developed design system will be used for the construction of three-dimensional superyacht hull modeling system.

  • As display devices evolve, computer-based work environments are also becoming better suited to actual application tasks. This paper discusses the development of an architectural design system using the virtual table, which is a table-type projection system. It consists of the interactive VR modeler, the hybrid tracker and the architectural interpreter. The interactive VR modeler offers visual and tactile guide such as grid interaction, a tangible transparent prop and reference objects, so that a user can design architectural 3D models more easily and intuitively on the virtual table. The hybrid tracker includes two types of tracking methods for viewpoint according to the user's view and hand interaction: namely, vision-based tracking and magnetic tracking. The architectural interpreter automatically transforms simple 3D masses into a basic construction form that has architectural knowledge. The proposed system has advantage in the sense that it is suitable for collaboration among several users, allowing them to view graphical objects in stereoscopic view with direct 3D manipulation. Thus, it can be effectively used for architectural simulation and user-participated design.

  • The goal of this study is to deepen the understanding of robot business and application, and examine the relationships and development trends of robot evaluation scales. Through interactive mapping, 113 types of robot data samples were realized to be placed on seven evaluation scales and reference on specific information of each items were allowed. Also, by examining the robot development trends among different countries through interactive mapping, the trends could be largely divided into American, European, Japanese, and Korean. Throughout various parts of the evaluation scale, American and European views were found to consider robots mainly as tools. On the other hand, Japanese and Korean views considered robots as a 'partner' or 'neighbour' and were working to satisfy these aspects.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Interactive Metronome (IM) training on short-term memory and attention for children with mental retardation. Methods : For this study, single-subject experimental research was conducted using an ABA design. We observed two children, twice a week for 9 weeks, which was 18 sessions in total. We evaluated the children's brain waves without intervention and the child's pseudo randomly selected sample of one short-term memory task as assessed in the baseline A phase for three sessions. In the intervention phase the children received 40-50 minutes of Interactive Metronome training twice a week, a total of 12 sessions. The short-term memory test and long form test as assessed after treatment, without brain wave in short form test measuring. During the baseline A phase, data were collected using the same procedure as the baseline A phase. Results : After the interactive metronome training, positive changes was observed in brain waves, attentions and short-term memory. Conclusion : The results of this study expect that IM training has a potential for improving cognitive functions of children with mental retardation. In addition, the results of this study can be used as basic data in attention and short-term memory of occupational therapy intervention for children with mental retardation.

  • This paper discusses on the machine loading and tool allocation (MLTA) problem. Mathematical formulation of the problem is given first. Then a heuristic approach based on Group Technology (GT) is presented to deal with the MLTA problem effectively. By using this approach, part-tool group generation and their assignment to adequate machines can easily be obtained in consideration of the work load on each machine, the number of tool-set replacement, and the total number of cutting tools required through the interactive setting of the desired machine utilization rate.

  • This paper describes a design method of grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems with three phase inverter. A 3-phase 50kW photovoltaic power generation system including a DC/AC inverter is designed and made in order to investigate the system performance for grid connection. Also the control scheme of a three phase current-controlled PWM inverter is presented by using d-q transformation. The experimental waveforms show that the proposed system has stable behavior with an unit power factor in utility-interactive operation.
