2차원 구조물의 진동 인텐시티 계측에 대한 연구 (A Study on Structural Intensity Measurement of 2-dimensional Structure)

  • In order to control vibration in structures, it is desirable to be able to identify dominant paths of vibration transmission from sources through the structure to some points of interest. Structural intensity vector(power flow per width of cross section) using cross spectra is able to measure the vibration power flow at a point in a structure. This paper describes the structural intensity measurement of 2-dimensional structure. Structural intensity of 2-dimensional structure can be obtained from eight point cross spectral measurement per axis, or two point measurement per axis on the assumption of far field. Approximate formulation of the relation between bending waves in structures and structural intensity makes it possible to separate the wave components by which one can get a state of the vibration field. Experimental results are obtained on an infinite plate at the near and far field in flexural vibration. The measurement error of two point measurement is rather bigger than eight point measurement on account of the assumption that Poisson's ratio is 1. The structural intensity vectors on the plate are checked the ability to identify the path of vibration power flow in random excitation and 200Hz sine excitation, the result of two point measurememt is almost the same as the result of eight point measurement in 200Hz sine excitation.

  • This paper investigated the practical use for measuring the structural intensity (power flow per width of cross section) in a uniform semi-infinite beam in flexural vibration. The structural intensity is obtained as a vector at a measurement point, One-dimensional structural intensity can be obtained from 4-point cross spectral measurement, or 2-point measurement on the assumption of far field. The measurement errors due to finite difference approximation and phase mismatch of accelerometers are examined. For precise measurements, it would be better to make the value of k$\delta$(wave number x space between accelerometers) between 0.5 and 1.0. Formulation of the relation between bending waves in structures and structural intensity makes it possible to separate the wave components by which one can get a state of the vibration field. Experimental results are obtained from 2- and 4-point measurement performed at 200mm (near field) and 400mm (far field) apart from excitation point in random excitation. the results are compared with the theoretical values and measured values of input power spectrum in order to verify the accuracy of structural intensity method, 2-point method is suggested as the practical structural intensity method.

  • The errors caused by developmental finite difference approximations in the two microphone acoustic intensity measurement technique are considered in this paper. The frequencies and pressure responses obtained experimentally, are presented for both face to face (FF) and side by side(SS) microphone configurations. The implications of these results by the use of such a cofiguration for two microphone sound intensity measurement are discussed.

Target Birth Intensity Estimation Using Measurement-Driven PHD Filter

  • The probability hypothesis density (PHD) filter is an effective means to track multiple targets in that it avoids explicit data associations between the measurements and targets. However, the target birth intensity as a prior is assumed to be known before tracking in a traditional target-tracking algorithm; otherwise, the performance of a conventional PHD filter will decline sharply. Aiming at this problem, a novel target birth intensity scheme and an improved measurement-driven scheme are incorporated into the PHD filter. The target birth intensity estimation scheme, composed of both PHD pre-filter technology and a target velocity extent method, is introduced to recursively estimate the target birth intensity by using the latest measurements at each time step. Second, based on the improved measurement-driven scheme, the measurement set at each time step is divided into the survival target measurement set, birth target measurement set, and clutter set, and meanwhile, the survival and birth target measurement sets are used to update the survival and birth targets, respectively. Lastly, a Gaussian mixture implementation of the PHD filter is presented under a linear Gaussian model assumption. The results of numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach can achieve a better performance in tracking systems with an unknown newborn target intensity.

  • A energy equation for a thin plate and surrounding fluid is derived. The equation essentially determines the relation between internal loss of thin plate, energy of acoustic radiation, and structure intensity. We attempted to use this relation to measure internal loss of thin plate. The significance of this approach is that internal loss at any point of a thin plate can be measured. The quality of this measure is dicated by the accuracy of associated measurement systems such as structure and acoustic intensity measurements. A strain gauge bridge system has been developed to measure structure intensity of thin plate. Its performance is tested by experiments.

  • This study examined the work time, work posture, and work intensity for the actual measurement step in forest road the design work that was being carried out. The measurement of the forest road was being carried by a team of three workers and a team of four workers. The examination of work time found that the measurement of 1km took about 8 hours for the four-worker team and 12 hours for the three-worker team. The examination of work intensity found that the energy metabolic rates of the three-worker team were lower than four-worker team. Because their energy consumption per minute decreased as their work time and rest time increased. Furthermore, when appropriate rest time was applied according to work time, the energy metabolic rate decreased and the work intensity became lower. The four-worker team was more advantageous from the time and cost aspects of the forest road measurement work. Furthermore, as the rest time was very low compared to the work time, more efficient forest road measurement work would be possible if the work intensity was lowered by considering the rest time when calculating the standard work time.

  • This paper presents an experimental method to find the vibrational transmission characteristics of structures by using the structural intensity method which is used as the important techniques of active vibration control method. Experimental results are obtained from measurements performed on a structure beam by 2, 3 and 4 position linear accelerometr array (2, 3 and 4 structural intensity : 2, 3 and 4 S.I.) methods at near and farfield conditions. These results are compared with the measurement values of conventional power flow measurement method called input power measurement in order to verify the accuracy of structural intensity methods. To minimize the errors associated with 2, 3 and 4 S.I. methods, the measurement locations were selected by the result of modal analysis and the averaged data by the inter-change of accelerometer array was utilized. In 3 and 4 S.I. methods measured wavenumber instead of theoretical wavenumber was used. This paper shows that measurements of bending wave power flow by using 2, 3 and 4 S.I. methods can give accurate values under general field conditions in structural beam and the accuracy of 2, 3 S.I. methods is higher than 4 S.I. methods. Finally, 2 position linear accelerometer array method is suggested as the practical structural intensity technique.

  • The surface intensity method is a relatively new tool which can identify the noise source or path and measure the radiation power. One microphone and one accelerometer are used in this new technique. In this study, this new technique has been used to measure the field transmission loss trough doors. The results of the experiment indicate that the surface intensity method produces reliable data and can be applied to the transmission loss measurement.
