  • In managing a certain database, the integrity of data is very important. The important. The integrity constrains thus should be considered carefully when a database is designed and, after the database is created, it is required for a database manager to check continuously if some data contained in the database violate the integrity constraints considered. It is however not easy to check the violateion of integrity constraints when the size and the complexity of database are increased. This paper suggests a rule-based database verification system to relax the difficulty of checking the integrity violation, in which a database is coupled with a rule-based system including the knowledge about the integrity constraints. The rule-database verification system suggested accepts the model descriptions of an application domain, generates the knowledge base consisting of rules and facts by analyzing the model description and proceeds the verification process to check the integrity of the database.

  • In this paper, we study the verification techniques for OS integrity that can be more fatal than applications in case of security issues. The dissemination of smartphones is rapidly progressing and there are many similarities of smartphones and PCs in terms of security risks. Recently, in mobile network environment, there is a trend of increasing damages and now, there are active researches on a system that can comprehensively respond to this. As a way to prevent these risks, integrity checking method on operation system is being researched. As most integrity checking algorithms are classified by verification from the levels before booting the OS and at the time of passing on the control to the OS, in which, there are minor differences in the definitions of integrity checking or its methods. In this paper, we suggests the integrity verification technique of OS using a boot loader and a physically independent storing device in the mobile device.

  • This paper presents a verification watermarking applied to healthcare information management. The proposed method uses the whole region based on the public-key cryptograph, which is transformed by the DWT transform to integrity verification. Furthermore, the public-key cryptograph algorithm is used for the embedded watermark image. We adaptively select the upper bit-plane including the LSB parts of each block when the watermark is inserted.

  • The advancement in technology has led to the enormous use of multimedia applications. The video/image recorded by such applications provides critical information that can be used as a visual evidence. However, owing to the adequacy in using different editing tools, it is susceptible to malicious alterations. Thus, the reliability or the integrity of the visual information should be verified before using it as an evidence. In this paper, we propose an integrity verification method for the surveillance system using randomized hashing. The integrity value of the surveillance data is generated using the randomized hashing and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), which is used later for the validation. The experimental results obtained from the embedded accident data recorder (ADR) system shows that the proposed method is very efficient and provides a high level of security.

  • This paper presents IPv6, ATM, and IP/ATM security systems for computer network. IPv6 uses authentication header and ESP to provide security services. Authentication header provides integrity and authentication services and ESP provides integrity, authentication and confidentiality services. User plan of ATM provides authentication, integrity, confidentiality and access control services and control plan of ATM provides authentication and integrity services. IP/ATM security services are also presented.

  • Many organizations today use patch management systems to uniformly manage software vulnerabilities. However, the patch management system does not guarantee the integrity of the patch in the process of providing the patch to the client. In this paper, we propose a method to guarantee patch integrity through dual electronic signatures. The dual electronic signatures are performed by the primary distribution server with the first digital signature and the secondary distribution server with the second digital signature. The dual electronic signature ensures ensure that there is no forgery or falsification in the patch transmission process, so that the client can verify that the patch provided is a normal patch. The dual electronic signatures can enhance the security of the patch management system, providing a secure environment for clients.

  • E-Science Grid is designed to cope with computation-intensive tasks and to manage a huge volume of science data efficiently. However, certain tasks may involve more than one grid can offer in computation capability or incur a long wait time on other tasks. Resource sharing among Grids can solve this problem with proper processing-integrity check via audit. Due to their computing-intensive nature, the processing time of e-Science tasks tends to be long. This potential long wait before an audit failure encourages earlier audit mechanism during execution in order both to prevent resource waste and to detect any problem fast. In this paper, we propose a Light-weight, Adaptive and Reliable Audit, LARA, of processing Integrity for e-Science applications. With the LARA scheme. researchers can verify their processing earlier and fast.

  • Control Flow Integrity(CFI) and Control Flow Locking(CFL) prevent unintended execution of software and provide integrity in control flow. Attackers, however, can still hijack program controls since CFI and CFL does not support fine-granularity, context-sensitive protection. In this paper, we propose a new CFI scheme, Source-code CFI(SCFI), to overcome the problems. SCFI provides context-sensitive locking for control flow. Thus, the proposed approach protects software against the attacks on the previous CFI and CFL schemes and improves safety.

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) states that the recommended horizontal accuracy for coastal and offshore areas is 10 m, the Alert Limit (AL) is 25 m, the time to alert is 10 seconds, and the integrity risk (IR) is 10-5 per three hours. For operations requiring high accuracy, such as tugs and pushers, icebreakers, and automated docking, the IMO dictates that a high level of positioning accuracy of less than one meter and a protection level of 0.25 meters (for automated docking) to 2.5 meters should be achieved. In this paper, we analyze a method of calculating the user-side protection level of the centimeter-level precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) that is being studied to provide augmentation information for the precision Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) service. In addition, we analyze standardized integrity forms based on RTCM SC-134 to propose an integrity information form and generate a centimeter-level precise PNT service plan.
