  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to elucidate the effect of Jaeumkanghwatang (JEKHT) on the plasma concentration and pharmacokinetics of tamoxifen in combination therapy as a process of the comprehensive and integrative medicine against breast cancer. Methods: After 50 mg/kg of tamoxifen treatment, JEKHT 100 mg/kg was orally administered within 5 min. The plasma were collected at 30 min before administration, 30min, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 24 hrs after end of JEKHT treatment, and plasma concentrations of tamoxifen were analyzed using LC-MS/MS methods. PK parameters of tamoxifen ($T_{max}$, $C_{max}$, AUC, $t_{1/2}$ and $MRT_{inf}$) were analysis as compared with tamoxifen single administered rats. Results: JEKHT did not influenced on the plasma concentrations and pharmacokinetics of tamoxifen after single oral co-administration, within 5min except for some negligible effects on plasma concentration. The $T_{max}$, $C_{max}$, AUC, $t_{1/2}$ and $MRT_{inf}$ of tamoxifen in co-administered rats were quite similar to those of tamoxifen single treated rats. Conclusions: Based on the results of the present study, JEKHT did not influenced on the oral bioavailability of tamoxifen, when they were single co-administered within 5min. However, more detail pharmacokinetic studies should be tested to conclude the possibilities that can be used as comprehensive and integrative therapy with JEKHT and tamoxifen for breast cancers, when they were co-administered, like the effects on the pretreatment of JEKHT and after repeat co-administrations.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop an index of usability that reflects the needs and characteristics of the elderly. The usability index is used primarily to assess issues in the usability of a product. Methods : In this study, 22 items for mobile toilet usability index were developed by consulting with 12 elderly users, 6 caregivers, and 12 experts. The usability evaluation index was intended to increase reliability through preliminary and main evaluations. In addition, the validity of the items used as the usability evaluation index was verified to prove that the index is effective for the evaluation. Result : The usability index is a welfare tool developed by gathering data from various sources such as previous studies dealing with usability evaluation, characteristics of users, range of use, and environment of product use. Conclusion : The development of the usability index for mobile toilets was useful for the user to quantitatively derive the problem of the product. Consequently, user needs and usability problems can be identified, which can help improve product quality.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the foundations for the application of appropriate programs for pain reduction in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: The literature on patients with rheumatoid arthritis were found on an electronic search site for South Korean academic papers. The search terms "rheumatism" and "rheumatoid arthritis" were used independently. The combined terms "rheumatism and pain" and "rheumatoid arthritis and pain" were also used. For the meta-analysis, the R version 3.5.1 program was utilized. Results: The meta-analysis of eight papers showed a large effect size of -4.11. The programs were most effective in the order of aquatic exercise, aromatherapy, self-help education, muscle strength exercises, and tai chi. Conclusion: This study could provide the basis for presenting appropriate programs for pain management in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Purpose : This study was analyzed to researched the improvement of the posture and breathing ability on correction method of posture and breathing exercise in Forward Head Posture(FHP) Method : Eighten forward head posture subjects participated in this study. The control group applied to correction method of posture and the experiment group applied to correction method of posture with breathing exercises. Results : The results showed significant improvement in Craniovertebra-Angle on each two group(P<0.05). All the other result showed non-significant in respiratory(Tidal volume, Expiratory residual volume, Inspiratory residual volume) But value of result is slightly improved in after exercise. Conclusion : CVA angle is increased in each group but not increased between experiment group and control group. Total Volume(TV), Inspiratory Reserve Volume(IRV) and Expiratory Reserve Volume(ERV) are a little increased.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to know the evidence case to assessment about literatures of extensor carpi radialis therapeutic strategy of tennis elbow about dysfunction wrist extension with anatomy, biomechanic and function. Method: Patient was received the physical therapy program with medication for two weeks. Physical therapy program consists of strengthening exercise, stretching exercise and extracopereal shock wave therapy. Results: Patients could do computer and house works at three weeks significant with improved pain. The amounts used repetitive muscle was reduced slowly over a period of a day or two days for wrist moving. Wrist flexor strengthening exercise and could reduced the wrist extensor injury. Conclusion: Clinicians certainly realized biomechanic effects and anatomy of extensor carpiradialis and elbow joint.

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was to compare the muscle activities of thumb and wrist during unimanual, bimanual symmetric and bimanual reciprocal movements using surface electromyography. Method : Thirty-six participants were involved in this study. Two blocks were used to perform unimanual, bimanual symmetric and bimanual reciprocal movements of thumb and wrist. Muscle activities in the flexor pollicis brevis, abductor pollicis brevis, extensor carpi radialis and flexor carpi radialis were measured using an surface EMG system. Result : For the flexor pollicis brevis and abductor pollicis brevis, significant difference in the muscle activity were found among the unimanual, bimanual symmetric and bimanual reciprocal movement. For the extensor carpi radialis and flexor carpi radialis, the unimanual movement significantly different from the bimanual symmetric and reciprocal movements. Conclusion : Both the thumb and wrist, bimanual symmetric and reciprocal movements were more efficient than the unimanual movement. Moreover, with regard to the thumb, the bimanual reciprocal movement was more efficient than the bimanual symmetric movement.

  • Purpose : PBL is a teaching method to learn problem-solving process. Present study was to investigate the predictors of academic achievement when PBL is applied to students of physical therapy. Method : We Performed in-depth interviews and analyzed using the qualitative analysis by randomly assigning 5 of twenty four students who attended the class. Result : The results are classified into two categories and six sub-subjects. Based on two system of classification, PBL showed the learning effect through problem-solving methods because students directly participated in these processes. Also, students need to clearly comprehend communication method and decision-making process in order to progress the class smoothly. Conclusion : Therefore, futher studies will be continuously needed on how we apply PBL to various curriculums of physical therapy.

Methods : This study targeted 39 female college students and conducted a questionnaire survey on physical change and disease, and measured waist flexibility and hip joint working range. Result : The study subjects showed much fatigue, subjective symptoms, and the highest varicose veins. As for comparison before and after waist flexibility measurement, the mean value of the waist flexibility was 17.97 before the experiment, and the mean value after the experiment was 17.63. Therefore there was a significant difference (P<.5). Conclusion : As a result of this study, the female college students revealed fatigue, varicose veins, and numbness, as well as waist flexibility and hip joint limitations even with a little walk.
