  • These days due to the introduction of the subject classroom system, the classrooms for the subject are arranged and various advanced educational equipment is provided in the classroom such as the actual object image processor, electronic blackboard, and educational photographer which are helpful to the class. With the increase of these equipments, the number of remote controller of individual educational equipment also increases, therefore it is complicate to manage the remote controllers and teachers need to learn the usage of them. So the system supports a remote control for managing the educational equipment by the one remote controller and the instructional supplement. The system consists of the hardware which is similar to popular remote controller and the software which is installed on the teacher's PC and supports controlling the educational equipments, recording the instruction, writing on the blackboard, and automatic power off of the equipment. By introducing the system the teacher could reduce the time consumed by the equipment's control and useless electric waste.

  • This paper aims to analyze the production efficiency in Korea's ten service sectors using DEA and its determinants utilizing a truncated-Tobit regression model and a censored-Tobit regression model in 2010-2019. This paper found: First, the Korean service sector's production efficiency in general has been significantly low and polarized. Especially, the inefficiency resulted from the scale inefficiency in the 'sewerage waste management industry.' Second, in the determinants analysis, the results show the positive effect of the investment and R&D expenses on technical efficiency, while FDI and lobbying expenses illustrate the negative impact. Moreover, it seems that the larger the industry, the higher the efficiency. Thus, the future Korean government's economic policy for the service sectors requires a mixed and integrated policy of the macroeconomic aspect such as active investment and R&D activities with microeconomic aspect including a convergence of FDI and human capital.

  • There has been continuous efforts to manage water resources for the required water quality criterion at river channel in Korea. However, we could obtain the partial improvement only for the point sources such as, waste waters from urban and factory site through the water quality management. Therefore, it is strongly needed that the best management practice throughout the river basin fur water quality management including non-point sources pollutant loads. This problem should be resolved by recognizing the non-point sources pollutant loads from the upstream river basin to the outlet of the basin depends on the landuse and soil type characteristics of the river basin using the computer simulation by a distributed model based on the detailed investigation and application of Geographic Information System (GIS). The purpose of this study is consisted of the three major distributions, which are the investigation of spread non-point sources pollutants throughout the river basin, development of the base maps to represent and interpret the input and outputs of the distributed simulation model, and prediction of non-point sources pollutant loads at the outlet of a up-stream river basin using Agricultural Non-Point Sources Model (AGNPS). For the validation purpose, the Seom-Jin River basin was selected with two flood events in 1998. The results of this application showed that the use of combined a distributed model and an application of GIS was very effective fur the best water resources and quality management practice throughout the river basin

  • This study is aimed to review the previous research accomplishments with analysis of problems and to suggest the counter plan for the watershed management and the ongoing research strategy. Phytoremediation provides a cost-effective techniques having a merit of low investment and maintenance cost. It could be one of the best techniques, which is an alternative plan to overcome economical situation and lack of experts in our country. In forest watershed affected by waste water and heavy metal pollutants should be controlled by vegetative remediation system, but the disposal techniques of harvested plant materials should be developed. Also, high degree areas of natural vegetation as a key model to recover the vegetation should be well conserved. It is important to restore forest continuity between upper stream and lower stream basin with the restoration of damaged in forest watershed. It is established to integrated protection system for land use and management plan and to natural environment evaluation methods affected by projects such as erosion control and developments in stream and forest. In addition, I suggest the continuous environmental monitoring system to treat the pollutions concerned.

  • Hand posture and force, which define aspects of the way an object is grasped, are features of robotics manipulation. A means for specifying these grasping "flavors" has been developed that uses an instrumented glove equipped with joint and force sensors. The new grasp specification system is being used at the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in a Virtual Reality based Point-and-Direct(VR-PAD) robotics implementation. In the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Laboratory at Penn State, hand posture and force data were collected for manipulating bricks and other items that require varying amounts of force at multiple pressure points. The feasibility of measuring desired grasp characteristics was demonstrated for a modified Cyberglove impregnated with FSR (Force Sensitive Resistor) pressure sensors in the fingertips. A joint/force model relating the parameters of finger articulation and pressure to various lifting tasks was validated for the instrumented "wired" glove. Operators using such a modified glove may ultimately be able to configure robot grasping tasks in environments involving hazardous waste remediation, flexible manufacturing, space operations and other flexible robotics applications. In each case, the VR-PAD approach improved the computational and delay problems of real-time multiple-degree-of-freedom force feedback telemanipulation.ck telemanipulation.

  • The mines in our country are complex in geography and shape and because of its small scale, accurate surveying performance and 3D modeling are necessary for mine development and management and mining plans. However, due to the data acquisition and processing technology and economy, the existing methods are currently used. The structure, mining, and mining area of the mine are recorded and managed based on the 2D drawings. As a result, it is true that there is risk of accidents caused by problems of accuracy as well as waste of personnel and time. In recent years, research data on geology and geospatial information on mines have been integrated into a database in foreign countries, and they are used for mine management and mining planning. In this study, we tried to construct spatial information for mining management and mining plan using laser scanner. Through research, spatial information about the mine was effectively obtained and produced data modeled through data processing. The 3D model for mining mines is expected to be a valuable tool for establishing and operating a safe mining plan for mines.

  • The impacts influenced on the performance and safety of a repository are classified as units of Features, Events, and Processes (FEP), for the total system performance assessment (TSPA) related to the permanent disposal of HLW. The importance is evaluated in consideration of the frequency, consequence, regulation, suitability of a specific site, etc. and then these are grouped as a similar FEP. A scenario describing the migration of radionuclide from the repository to the biosphere is derived from understanding the interaction among these groups. KAERI has developed the KAERI FEP lists by review and collation of the foreign studies. The KAERI FEP list has been reviewed by several Korean experts. The five major scenarios describing possible future evolutions of the geological disposal system have been developed by RES and PID methods. Also the CYPRUS which is a KAERI integrated database management system for the total system performance assessment (TSPA) related to the permanent disposal of HLW has been developed and the results of the FEP and scenario development have been uploaded in this system.

  • A nuclear power plant (NPP) is a highly complex system-of-systems as manifested through its internal systems interdependence. The negative impact of such interdependence was demonstrated through the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. As such, there is a critical need for new strategies to overcome the limitations of current risk assessment techniques (e.g. the use of static event and fault tree schemes), particularly through simulation of the nonlinear dynamic feedback mechanisms between the different NPP systems/components. As the first and key step towards developing an integrated NPP dynamic probabilistic risk assessment platform that can account for such feedback mechanisms, the current study adopts a system dynamics simulation approach to model the thermal dynamic processes in: the reactor core; the secondary coolant system; and the pressurized water reactor. The reactor core and secondary coolant system parameters used to develop system dynamics models are based on those of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. These three system dynamics models are subsequently validated, using results from published work, under different system perturbations including the change in reactivity, the steam valve coefficient, the primary coolant flow, and others. Moving forward, the developed system dynamics models can be integrated with other interacting processes within a NPP to form the basis of a dynamic system-level (systemic) risk assessment tool.

  • Structure-typed cultural heritage, objects of preservation are positioned as one of the very important heritage in the nation, and the preservation of prototypical structures become influential in national development and against natural disaster. For this reason, Digital Close Range Photogrammetry has recently been diversely used. Despite its popular use, the measurement has limits that make it unsuitable for photographing precise cultural heritage situated at high mountainous terrain or where people can not approach easily. These high gigantic stone statues are among the preserved structure-typed cultural heritage. In order to supplement the limits, when using the measurement, a camera tripod with +30m, a ladder truck and a shore should be equipped, which means additional equipment leads to it being a waste of cost and time. In this vein, a device was developed in detail, using a RC Helicopter installed with a CCD video camera with ease of control, safety, equipment, carrying, movement and approach, then checked image shot by a wireless modem at real time and considered the economical efficiency without re-photographing. Next, the author digitized the images of the nationally designated structure-typed cultural heritage, used materials on their restoration as the third dimension in order to construct the integrated management-information system for cultural heritage. Through the above processes, this study can provide specific information on 3D images and 3D CAD sections of structured-typed cultural heritage for both the public and specialists on the web. Moreover, it suggests the foundation to restore the damaged cultural heritage in the future by aiming for their effective management and preservation.

  • In South Korea, Mine industries were encouraged to obtain the natural resource from 1960 to 1980. However, the depletion of natural resource and decreasing price have been caused by the voluntary closure of non-economical mines and a cut of their production since 1990. Harmful wastewater containing such heavy metals as iron, aluminum, arsenic, and cadmium are being discharged from abandoned pits and waste stone and tailing dumping sites following the closure of mines. Therefore, the objective of this paper suggests a policy of mine hazard prevention(PMHP) and method that allows the combination of new spatial data and as well as collected data on resources for the sustainable mine reclamation and management using EGIS/MGIS technique to develop an integrated plan and management techniques.
