Integrated Management System of Profile Based on CC/PP for Supporting Content Adaptation Services (콘텐츠 적응화 서비스 지원을 위한 CC/PP기반의 프로파일 통합 관리 시스템)

  • This paper proposes the system to manage profiles effectively that are necessary for content adaptation services. The proposed profiles for providing content adaptation services are used in the various services. However, currently, there are lack of the interoperability in profiles due to the different configuration, which is affected by different services. The service providers also spend a lot of operating costs by operating profiles respectively. To solve theses problems, the system which can integrate and manage the various kinds of the profiles is necessary. Based on profile services architecture and the previous profile research to the necessary functions for the proposed integrated management system of profile are derived. The proposed integrated management system of profile supports also the functions such as receiving, processing, saying, managing, providing and supports profiles that are made of RDF form and comply with the CC/PP specification. The metadata constitution technique and dynamic technique for effective content adaptation also are applied. As a result of performance evaluation the proposed techniques improve the performance 4% compared with the previous techniques.

A Lightweight Three-Party Privacy-preserving Authentication Key Exchange Protocol Using Smart Card

  • How to make people keep both the confidentiality of the sensitive data and the privacy of their real identity in communication networks has been a hot topic in recent years. Researchers proposed privacy-preserving authenticated key exchange protocols (PPAKE) to answer this question. However, lots of PPAKE protocols need users to remember long secrets which are inconvenient for them. In this paper we propose a lightweight three-party privacy-preserving authentication key exchange (3PPAKE) protocol using smart card to address the problem. The advantages of the new 3PPAKE protocol are: 1. The only secrets that the users need to remember in the authentication are their short passwords; 2. Both of the users can negotiate a common key and keep their identity privacy, i.e., providing anonymity for both users in the communication; 3. It enjoys better performance in terms of computation cost and security. The security of the scheme is given in the random oracle model. To the best of our knowledge, the new protocol is the first provably secure authentication protocol which provides anonymity for both users in the three-party setting.

Efficient Public Verification on the Integrity of Multi-Owner Data in the Cloud

  • Cloud computing enables users to easily store their data and simply share data with others. Due to the security threats in an untrusted cloud, users are recommended to compute verification metadata, such as signatures, on their data to protect the integrity. Many mechanisms have been proposed to allow a public verifier to efficiently audit cloud data integrity without receiving the entire data from the cloud. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of them has considered about the efficiency of public verification on multi-owner data, where each block in data is signed by multiple owners. In this paper, we propose a novel public verification mechanism to audit the integrity of multi-owner data in an untrusted cloud by taking the advantage of multisignatures. With our mechanism, the verification time and storage overhead of signatures on multi-owner data in the cloud are independent with the number of owners. In addition, we demonstrate the security of our scheme with rigorous proofs. Compared to the straightforward extension of previous mechanisms, our mechanism shows a better performance in experiments.

Adaptive Correlation Noise Model for DC Coefficients in Wyner-Ziv Video Coding

  • An adaptive correlation noise model (CNM) construction algorithm is proposed in this paper to increase the efficiency of parity bits for correcting errors of the side information in transform domain Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video coding. The proposed algorithm introduces two techniques to improve the accuracy of the CNM. First, it calculates the mean of direct current (DC) coefficients of the original WZ frame at the encoder and uses it to assist the decoder to calculate the CNM parameters. Second, by considering the statistical property of the transform domain correlation noise and the motion characteristic of the frame, the algorithm adaptively models the DC coefficients of the correlation noise with the Gaussian distribution for the low motion frames and the Laplacian distribution for the high motion frames, respectively. With these techniques, the proposed algorithm is able to make a more accurate approximation to the real distribution of the correlation noise at the expense of a very slight increment to the coding complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the average peak signal-to-noise ratio of the decoded WZ frames by 0.5 dB to 1.5 dB.

  • This paper evaluates the performance and effectiveness of a layered coding scheme for an integrated mobile satellite systems, where the main target services are multimedia broadcasting and multicasting services (MBMS). In this integrated system, the satellite and complementary ground components (CGC) cooperate to provide high quality services. A layered coding scheme is a receiver driven adaptive schemes which adapts to the channel condition at the receiver. In this paper, we introduce a layered turbo coding scheme, and evaluates the performance in various scenarios, and discuss its effectiveness. The demonstrated results in the paper can be utilized in order to design an efficient integrated mobile satellite system, in the future.

  • In this paper, we first summarize key components of integrated services of telecommunication and broadcasting. Definitions and typology of th e integrated services are organized th rough comprehensive analysis of recent convergence trend of telecommunications and broadcasting. Various issues on regulations, society cultures, and technical aspects of the convergence are identified. Next, we deal with the digital media broadcasting service which is one of the technical culmination of the telecommunication and broadcasting merged services. The focus of the analysis has been made on policy implications and comparative details with other similar services in the same category. Finally, we suggest the perspectives on forthcoming digital media broadcasting service developments, and implications to cope with this emerging technological breakthrough.

  • This study conducts analysis on integrated care cases in Korea and other nations regarding health, medical, and welfare services that are segmented and fragmented in order to provide foundational data to establish an integrated care system appropriate for the situation of Korea. According to the result of the cases, integrated care provides various services in common through cooperation with organizations, collaborative participation of various professionals, provision of intervention and individualized protection, and experts for taking care of the cases. Based on those cases, this paper provides suggestions to establish an integrated care system of Korea. In fact, it is necessary to build integrated care general support centers, arrange service providing places in common, establish a care management system, develop resources and expand manpower, develop an integrated care case management system, and develop integrated care computer network.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to derive basic data for desirable location and functions of the integrated care center. Methods: Survey, Questionaire and statistical analysis are the main research method of this study. In order to collect data related to utilization pattern and favorite functions of the senior people, researchers have visited 4 social welfare facilities located in Southern Gyeonggi Province. 403 questionaires have been gathered from 4 facilities and they have been analyzed by using Excel Program of MS. Results: First, compared to other services, healthcare services have been preferred by many older people in Social welfare Facilities. This means that integrated care centers providing healthcare services for older people rather than services for children or disabilities is desirable. Second, Integrated Care Centers had better be established within the walk distance of elderly people. If it is not easy, the introduction of shuttle bus for older people is desirable. Especially, in case of large Care Center. Implications: This study shows that small facility with community care rather than big facility is desirable for small community in the point of friendliness, convenience, economy, etc.. However it is necessary to combine welfare service and healthcare service even in small centers.

  • The development of IT technology makes the functions and services of robots be integrated, and thus the robots become more intelligent and useful. As sophisticated usage of robots has evolved, direct communication by human language is necessary to increase the efficiency of their usage. In this paper, we propose a conversational interface platform for integrated service robots using MS Robotics Studio. The proposed platform consists of three types of components: a conversation manager to control the flows of the integrated service robots, a user interface to interact with users, and multiple service robots to perform actions or services. For a test-bed of the proposed platform, we build a schedule manager system and confirm the usability through SUS subject test by comparing the schedule manager system with MS Outlook.

Development of an IGVM Integrated Navigation System for Vehicular Lane-Level Guidance Services

  • This paper presents an integrated navigation system for accurate navigation solution-based safety and convenience services in the vehicular augmented reality (AR)-head up display (HUD) system. For lane-level guidance service, especially, an accurate navigation system is essential. To achieve this, an inertial navigation system (INS)/global positioning system (GPS)/vision/digital map (IGVM) integrated navigation system has been developing. In this paper, the concept of the integrated navigation system is introduced and is implemented based on a multi-model switching filter and vehicle status decided by using the GPS data and inertial measurement unit (IMU) measurements. The performance of the implemented navigation system is verified experimentally.
