Efficiency Estimation of Toxicity Free Eire Resistance Cable

  • In this paper, efficiency estimation of toxicity fee fire resistance cable experiments was measured smoke density of toxicity free fire resistance polyolefin insulation material and electric field dependence of tree shape in low density polyethylene (LDPE). One of the most serious causes of failure in high-voltage cables, can be an electrical discharge across an internal gab or void in the insulating material. Treeing due to partial discharge is one of the main causes of breakdown in the insulating materials and reduction of the insulation life. Therefore the necessity for establishing a method to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict the breakdown of insulation and research of the fire resistance character has become important. First, we have studied on electric field dependence of tree shape in LDPE about treeing phenomena occurring on the high electrical field. Second, the measurement method is the attenuation quantity of irradiation by smoke accumulating with in a closed chamber due to non-flaming heat decomposition and flaming combustion. A main cause of fire-growth and generating toxic gas when, it bums, should be dealt with great care in life. safety design. The fire gases were occurred carbon monoxide and decomposition than in polyolefin due to incomplete combustion of PVC, which has high content of carbon in chemical compound.

  • LNG cargo containment system (CCS) has the primary function of ensuring adequate thermal insulation with keeping natural gas below its boiling point. From the viewpoint of structural design, this LNG CCS can be treated as a laminated composite structure showing complex structural responses under the sloshing load which can be defined as a violent behavior of the liquid contents in cargo tanks due to external forced motions. As LNG CCS type, Mark III containment system from TGZ is considered in this paper and then its structural strength assessment is performed based on a simple higher-order shear deformation theory and maximum stress, maximum strain, Tsai-Wu failure criteria developed for laminated composite plates. The assessment is performed to the initial failure of the Mark III CS plate by investigating failure locations and loads.

  • In this paper, we describe the failure analysis and representation test method that applied high frequency transformer for SMPS through analysing insulation resistance, frequency characteristic, CT analysis, Q-factor atc. And we study the judgement method that a high frequency transformer affects to other beside parts in different condition or environment. According to this method, we devise a plan for the field failure prevent and propose the securing product reliability of high frequency transformer.

  • Recently, as a electronic components are becoming more high-density, so that electronic circuits have smaller pitches between the leads and are more vulnerable to insulation failure. And the reliability of electric insulation has become an ever important issue as device contact pitches and print patterns shrink. Ion migration occurs in highly humid environment as voltage is applied to an installed print circuit. Under highly humid and voltage applied circumstances, electronic components respond to applied voltages by electrochemical ionization of metals, and a conducting filament forms between the anode and cathode across a nonmetallic medium. This leads to short-circuit failure of the electronic component. In thesis, we study acceleration test of ion migration in FR-4 PCB plated with Sn. Voltage applied test of FR-4 PCB circuits plated with Sn was tested in the temperature and humidity environments. As a result of this test, equation of acceleration model was derived.

Analysis of Leak and Water Absorption Test Results for Water-Cooled Generator Stator Windings

  • Cases of insulation breakdown damage of water-cooled generator stator windings occur frequently due to coolant leakage and water absorption worldwide. Such serious accidents may cause not only enormous economic loss but also very serious grid accidents in terms of stable supply of electric power. More than 50 % of domestic generators have been operated for more than 15 years, and leak and water absorption problem of windings are often found during the planned preventive maintenance period. Since 2005, leak and water absorption tests have been performed for total watercooled stator windings after fully drying the inside of the windings. The results are then comprehensively analyzed. The result of the test performed by GE, a foreign manufacturer, for 141 generators showed failures in 80 of them (failure rate: 57 %), whereas in the tests carried out in Korean domestic power plants, only 14 out of 50 generators showed failures (failure rate: 28 %).

20년 이상 경과된 노후건축물의 단열재 성능평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on a Performance Evaluation of Internal Insulation of Buildings Over 20 Years Old)

  • 최근 국제사회는 지구온난화 방지를 위한 기후변화협약을 체결하고 건축물의 냉방 및 난방 에너지로 공급하는 화석연료 사용을 줄이고자 신축 또는 기존건물에 대한 녹색건축인증(G-SEED) 및 에너지효율등급, 건축물 에너지절약 설계기준 등을 일정조건 이상인 건축물에 의무적으로 적용하고 있다. 건물에 공급하는 에너지 공급을 줄이고 보온성을 향상시키는 건축자재로 단열재가 사용되고 있으며 신축건축물의 에너지절약 설계기준을 만족하는 건물외피 구성 재료 중 총 열 저항성의 90% 이상을 차지하고 있다. 그러나 기존건축물에 시공된 단열재의 경시변화에 대한 명확한 자료가 부족하여 건축물의 에너지성능 판단기준인 단위면적당 1차에너지 소요량 산정에 대한 의문점을 갖게 되었다, 이에 20년 이상 된 노후 건축물의 리모델링 현장에서 단열재(압출법,비드법)를 직접 채취하여 단열재성능을 비교·평가하였다. 실험결과, 압출법(XPS)은 생산초기 품질기준인 KS M 3808보다 열전도율은 48%, 압축강도는 36%가 저하되어 본래의 성능을 발휘하지 못함을 알 수 있었고, 비드법(EPS)의 경우 단열재 두께가 50mm인 경우 열전도율과 압축강도, 굴곡파괴하중 등이 생산초기 품질기준을 유지함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 비드법의 경우 단열재 두께를 고려하여 현재의 단위면적당 1차 에너지소 요량을 기존대로 산정하고, 압출법의 경우는 단위면적당 1차 에너지소요량 산정시 보정계수를 적용해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

FMEA에 근거한 LV URD 케이블의 고장분석 (Failure Analysis of LV URD Cable based on FMEA)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고장 케이블(LV URD(low voltage underground) cable)의 원인을 밝히는데 있다. 분석방법은 외형패턴, 열패턴, 표면구조 분석, 열분석, 성분분포 등 다양한 분석기기를 이용하여 분석되었다. 국제기준과 사고케이블 제작회사가 제시하고 있는 규정이 일치하는지의 여부를 분석하였으며, 국내산 케이블과의 비교분석하였다. 그 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 사고케이블 자체의 절연성능을 저하시키는 요인으로 IEC 60502-1과 IEC 60811-1-1에 의한 절연피복의 최소 두께가 시방(specification)과 일치하지 알음을 확인하였다. (2) 적외선분광기에 의해 적외선흡광피크가 동일 재료에서 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. (3) PVC bedding 부분이 열적으로 취약하여 장시간 현장에 노출되어 사용되는 경우 이와 유사한 패턴의 사고를 유발할 것으로 판단된다.

지역난방수 공급관 에어벤트 부식 파손 분석 (Corrosion Failure Analysis of Air Vents Installed at Heat Transport Pipe in District Heating System)

  • Two air vents situated on a heat transport pipe in district heating system were exposed to the same environment for 10 years. However, one air vent was more corroded than the other. It also had a hole on the top of the front-end pipe. Comparative analysis was performed for these air vents to identify the cause of corrosion and establish countermeasures. Through experimental observation of the damaged part and analyses of powders sampled from air vents, it was found that corrosion was initiated at the top of the front-end pipe. It then spread to the bottom. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy results showed that potassium and chlorine were measured from the corroded product in the damaged air vent derived from rainwater and insulation, respectively. The temperature of the damaged air vent was maintained at 75 ~ 120 ℃ by heating water. Rainwater-soaked insulation around the front-end pipe had been hydrolyzed. Therefore, the damaged air vent was exposed to an environment in which corrosion under insulation could be facilitated. In addition, ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma measurements indicated that the matrix of the damaged front-end pipe contained a higher manganese content which might have promoted corrosion under insulation.

파괴 및 비파괴진단 비교분석을 통한 케이블 열화특성평가 (Insulation Aging Characteristic Assessment on the Power cables with the Comparative Analysis Between Destructive and Nondestructive Diagnosis)

  • 본 논문에서는 지중전력케이블을 대상으로 케이블의 절연열화특성 분석시험을 통해 케이블의 절연열화와 절연 진단결과 및 파괴강도와의 상관관계에 대한 실증연구를 수행하였다. 시험대상 선로의 제조결함 여부를 확인하기 위해 가교도분석, 핫오일테스트 등을 실시한 결과 제조결함은 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 진단대상 선로는 3상 모두 장기간 사용에 의해 열화가 많이 진전되었고, 특히 B상이 수트리 길이 및 화학구조결함 농도 면에서 가장 열화된 케이블인 것으로 판단되며, C상, A상의 순으로 열화정도가 다소 감소함을 확인하였다. 상기 결과는 진단시험 및 파괴 강도시험 결과와 일치하며, 따라서 열화시정수법을 이용한 진단장치가 열화상태가 심각한 케이블의 선별에 효과적인 진단법임을 확인하였다.

2.2 kW와 3.7 kW 유도전동기의 정상과 구속운전에 따른 전류 및 온도 특성 (Characteristic of Current and Temperature according to Normal and Abnormal Operations at Induction Motor of 2.2 kW and 3.7 kW)

  • This study analyzed the current and temperature characteristics of major components of an induction motor during normal and abnormal operations as functions of the difference in the rated capacities of medium and large-sized motors widely used in industrial settings. The temperature rise equation of the induction motor winding was derived through locked-rotor operation experiments and linear regression analysis. When the ambient temperature is 40 ℃, the time to reach 155 ℃, the temperature limit of the insulation class (F class) of the winding of the induction motor, was confirmed to be 48 seconds for the 2.2 kW induction motor and 39 seconds for the 3.7 kW induction motor. This means that when the rated capacity is large or the installation environment is high temperature, the time to reach the temperature limit of the insulation class during locked-rotor operation is short, and the risk of insulation deterioration and fire is high. In addition, even if the EOCR (Electronic Over Current Relay) is installed, if the setting time is excessively set, the EOCR does not operate even if the normal and locked-rotor operation of the induction motor is repeated, and the temperature limit of the insulation grade of the winding of the induction motor is exceeded. The results of this study can be used for preventive measures such as the promotion of electrical and mechanical measures for the failure of induction motors and fire prevention in industrial sites, or the installation of fire alarm systems.
