  • If obstacle in GIS(Gas Insulted Switchgear), its affects are great are on the community and it is consequently demanded lots of difficulties to recover and repair. Accordingly, diagnosis techniques, that are able to prevent from accidents before they happen by providing more stable and highly reliable power effectively and finding sign of the accidents is very important A novel UHF(Ultra High Frequency)-microstrip antenna is presented. The measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is from 0.5[GHz] to 15[GHz] with the stop band from 0.5[GHz] to 10.7 [GHz] for VSWR<2. Form results of this study, The antenna is will play an important role for the sensor for insulation diagnosis system by UHF method of real site GIS and power equipment using SF$_6$ gas.

  • This paper presents the technology of condition diagnosis & life estimation on insulation system of the traction motor. In the non-destructive methods for diagnosis of coil insulation state, residual dielectric strength is estimated by the D-map which consist of the partial discharge quantity Q and average degradation degree $\Delta$. In the operating history of machine, the N-Y life estimation method is based on the stop-starting numbers and operating times with considering each degradation factor by the thermal, electrical and heat-cycle stress. With the on-line conditioning monitoring on the currents of traction motors, detecting the abnormal operating state due to bearing faults, stator or armature faults, eccentricity related faults and broken rotor bars can be performed.

  • Diagnosis of cable insulation degradation has important meaning from a viewpoint of reliability enhancement of CV cable systems. So, we diagnosed 3.3kV & 6.6kV CV distribution cable on live-line which is judged to a most poor installation condition because they have been used in water condition after installation at the Yeochon chemical complex. The paper describes the analysis of the measured data, the problems at diagnosis, and the items which are considered at the development of diagnosis technology and equipment hearafter.

  • In this paper, a novel Generator On-line Diagnosis System (GODS) is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD). Sensor, such as SSC (Stator Slot Coupler) and RFCT (Radio Frequency Current Transformer) are used for PD measurement. PD signals are continuously measured and digitized with a high speed A/D converter to build the database of the generator's insulation condition. Also this system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the generator.

  • In this paper, sample coils for stator form-wound winding of traction motor were tested by the accelerative thermal degradation, which composed of heat, vibration, moisture and overvoltage applying. Reliability and expected life were evaluated on the insulation system for 200 class traction motor. After aging of 10 cycles, insulation resistance and PI properties were investigated as diagnosis tests in the range of $20{\sim}160^{\circ}C$. Analysis of polarization properties was performed on the base of do current-time change.

  • Most of the failures of rotating machine are stator coil insulation failures. The insulation diagnostic testing for high voltage motors and generators are only megger test and P. I Test which is applied DC voltage until now. But it was impossible to judge insulation deterioration status of high voltage rotating machinery by above testing. In other words, even though the megger measurement values are fairly high, they used to be failed from time to time. Therefore in order to excute reliable and detailed diagnosis of insulation deterioration for rotating machinery, the tangent delta test, the alternating current test and the partial discharge test shall be applied to the insulation diagnostic testing on site.

  • Aging and failure of motor insulation depend on the stresses imposed on it. The insulation life time depends on the severity of the stresses. The electrical aging by transient surge is very important to traction motor in EMU(electric multiple unit). This paper Presents the insulation characteristics of stator coil by transient surge from inverter. There are several nondestructive tests available for checking the condition of motor insulation, the probable extent of aging,. and the rate of which aging is taking pace. So the insulation characteristics of stator coil were each analyzed by measurement of leakage current, dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$), capacitance, polarization index(PI) and partial discharge. The method of diagnosis is able to analyze the aging condition and Predict the life of the traction motor in EMU.

  • The aging of the insulation reduces the electrical and mechanical strength of the insulation. At same point, a voltage surge or mechanical shock from a traction motor start will fracture or break down the insulation. To achieve the expected life usually requires extensive laboratory evaluation of the insulation systems and the use of accelerated aging tests. There are several nondestructive test available for checking. the condition of motor insulation, the probable extent of aging, and the rate of which aging is taking place. So the insulation characteristics of stator coil were each analyzed by measurement of dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$), capacitance and partial discharge. The method of diagnosis is able to analyze the aging condition and predict the life of the traction motor.

  • This paper proposes integrated safety diagnosis system of motor used in a ship. It carried out the safety diagnosis for insulation-resistor and current. The motor exposed to sea breeze and oil all the time is able to have problems as a over-current, reduction of the insulation-resistor and so on. These problems impact on the safety navigation, and occur a heavy casualties and loss of property. The proposed system is able to sense error of the motor before a accident occur, by verifying and controlling value of the insulation-resistor and current in working area or control room. The validity of the proposed system is verified through experiment results on the 3-Phase induction motor.
