An active stick which has the variable force-feel characteristics is developed. A combined position and force control strategy is mechanized using a 2-axis built-in force sensor and LVDT. The 2-axis force sensor which measures the stick force felt by the operator is developed by using strain gages and appropriate instrumental amplifiers. A mathematical model of the active stick dynamics is derived, and compared with the experimental results. The frictional torque of the stick due to the mechanical contacts of several parts makes the experimental frequency responses to be dependent on the magnitude of excitation signal, and the precision closed loop control to be difficult. Stage costumes perform not only the instrumental but also the expressive functions. The major goal of this study is to develop the functional and aesthetic costume designs for musical players considering the characteristics of instruments, players' postures. This study will increase the related market size and the players' choices and move aurally and visually more. The scope of this study is restricted to the musical costumes for female adult soloists playing the wind and string instruments. This study is composed of theory research, empirical research and manufacturing a real costume.

Korean learners of Chinese have diniculties in pronouncing Chinese tones which distinguish the meaning of words, because there are not such tones in Korean language. It makes Koreans hard to acquire Chinese. In this paper, I present the followings: First, I examine the characteristics of the tones pronounced by Korean speakers, exploiting the method of modern experimental phonetics. Second, I present the pedagogy of Chinese tones, considering the typical errors shown by the experiments on Korean speakers. The Pedagogy Presented in this Paper, which is based on the results of experiments, is not perfect. However, I expect this paper to serve as instrumental tools to help Korean speakers to improve their command of Chinese.

본 연구는 대전 1, 2 공단지역을 대상으로 2000년 4월부터 2001년 1월까지 매주 1회, 24시간동안 분진시료를 포집하고, 포집된 42개의 시료를 대상으로 기기 중성자 방사화 분석법을 이용하여 독성 중금속을 포함한 약 30여종의 미량금속을 정량하고 그 특성을 파악하고자 한다. (중략)

The objective of the study is to develop attenuation equations of groud motions in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. The earthquake source characteristics and the medium properties were estimated from available instrumental earthquake records and used as input parameters. The peak ground accelerations (PGA) and pseudo-velocty response spectra(PSV) were simulated by the random vibration theory. The attenuation equations for the PGA were constructed in terms of local magnitudes and hypocentral distances.

The intermediate polar V1323 Her = RXS J180340.0+401214 returned from its faint state 19.4-20.5 mag (mean brightness during the run, the instrumental system close to R or clear filter) (vsnet-alert 16958). On March 1, 2014, the brightness was 17.50 (clear filter) and next night 17.8 (R). During previous observations on January 24, the object was 19.6. We reported this findings to vsnet-alert 16958 and to The Astronomer's Telegramm (ATel #5944). The characteristics of the runs obtained before/after a switch between the high and low states will be presented.

Seismicity of the Korean Peninsula shows intraplate seismicity that has irregular pattern in both time and space. Seismic data of the Korean peninsula consists of historical earthquakes and instrumental earthquakes. In this study we devide these data into complete part and incomplete part and considering earthquake size uncertainty estimate seismic hazard parameters - activity rate λ, b value of Gutenberg-Richter relation and maximum possible earthquake IMAX by statistical method in each major tectonic provinces. These estimated values are expected to be important input parameters in probabilistic seismic hazard analysis and evaluation of design earthquake.

Researchers in marketing, sociology, and economics have been interested in the role of social interactions in consumer choice and consumption behaviors. Social interactions, labeled variously as peer effects, social contagion, and neighborhood effects, have important implications for firms' allocation of marketing efforts. In this research, we test and provide empirical evidence for peer effects in consumers' service usage in the context of gym-going behaviors. Using a detailed individual-level membership and attendance data at one of the largest health club chains in the U.S., we document that a focal member's gym-going behavior is influenced by the behaviors and characteristics of the peers at the same branch

최근 우리나라에서는 지진으로 인한 피해가 미미하였지만, 역사기록에 의하면 피해유발 지진이 여러 차례 발생한 바 있으므로 지진으로 인한 피해 가능성을 항상 고려하여야 한다. 우리나라 대외 교역량의 99.6% 이상을 처리하는 항만시설의 중요성을 감안 할 때, 항만시설물의 지진 안전성 확보를 위한 설계 및 대응시스템 구축이 반드시 필요하다. 지진위험성 평가를 위하여 계기 지진 자료를 활용하는 것이 바람직하지만, 우리나라에서 본격적인 계기지진의 역사가 과거 30년에 국한된 관계로 계기지진 자료만으로는 우리나라의 지진 특성을 적절히 파악할 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 규모 5.0 이상의 역사지진 자료를 계기지진 자료와 함께 활용하여 장기 광역 지진위험성 평가의 자료로 활용하였다. 역사지진자료 분석 결과에 의하면 포항항, 울산항, 인천항이, 계기지진자료 분석 결과에 의하면 옥계항, 묵호항, 동해항, 삼척항, 포항항, 울산항을 포함한 동해안의 항이 다른 지역에 비하여 지진위험성이 크게 나타난다.

본산대놀이계통 가면극들을 장면별로 구분해서 음악 구성을 살펴본 바에 따르면, 처음에 배치되는 제의적 성격을 지니는 벽사춤 장면에서는 <염불>이나 <느린굿거리>가 포함되는 기악곡이 연주된다. 가면극의 마지막에 배치되는 할미와 영감 장면에서는 기악곡으로 <굿거리>가 연주되고, 성악곡으로 <상여소리> 또는 <무가>가 불린다. 이 때 <상여소리> 또는 <무가>는 할미가 죽어서 굿을 하거나 상여를 메고 나가는 제의적인 성격의 장면에서 연주된다. 다음으로 중 장면, 양반과 말뚝이 장면, 할미와 영감 장면에서는 노승이 추는 춤의 반주음악으로 <염불>이 연주되고, 중이 부르는 노래와 취발이가 부르는 노래, 양반 또는 말뚝이가 추는 춤과 할미가 추는 춤의 반주 음악인 <굿거리>와 이들이 부르는 노래, 영감과 할미가 부르는 노래가 나오는데, 이들의 배치 순서는 유동적이다. 이렇게 가면극의 장면 배치가 유동적인 것은 음악 구성과 관련된 가면극의 구조 때문이다. 가면극의 구조는 성악곡이 등장하는 과장이 극 전체에 분산 배치되는 구조와 성악곡이 등장하는 과장이 후반에 집중 배치되는 구조로 구분해서 볼 수 있다. 즉 가면극의 구조는 앞에서도 언급했듯이, 서로 관련 없는 주제들로 이루어진 과장이 다시 모여진 형태로 알려져 있다. 이러한 과장들의 배치를 어떻게 할 것인가에 관해서 각 과장에 어떤 음악이 포함되는지의 여부도 영향을 준 것으로 보인다. 관객을 긴장 또는 이완시키고, 흥을 이끌어 내거나 슬픔을 자극하기 위해서 적절한 음악의 배치는 필수적인 요소이다. 이러한 음악의 배치는 각 가면극별로 공통된 장면에서 공통되기도 하고 그렇지 않기도 하다. 양주별산대놀이, 봉산탈춤 등에서 불리는 <백구타령>과 <오독도기>가 수영야류에서도 반경토리로 불리는 예처럼 가면극의 전파 경로에 따라 동일 장면에서 연주되는 음악 역시 전파되었을 것이나 각 가면극 연희자의 음악적 역량이나 공연 환경 등에 따라 변형되거나 대체되고, 또는 생략되기도 했다. 그에 따라 동일한 내용의 과장이지만 이에 포함되는 음악의 유무, 그리고 그 음악의 성격이 달라졌을 것이다. 이는 가면극별로 동일한 내용의 과장이 음악적 효과의 포함 여부에 따라 서로 다른 순서로 배치되도록 영향을 주었을 것이다.
