  • The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between clothing microclimate and physiological responses, including subjective sensations, when, in a $15^{\circ}C$ environment, a range of temperatures inside clothing is broadly produced from using various combinations of upper and lower garments. Six male subjects participated in the investigation and the results were as follows. For all types of inside garments, the temperature of the clothing was lower than the skin temperature for the whole body in each case. The mean temperature for inside clothing ($\bar{T}_{cl}$) significantly showed the highest correlation with mean weighted skin temperature (r = 0.816) and was less positively correlated with the temperature of the inside clothing at the chest (r = 0.326) (p < .01). Values for both the energy expenditure and the heart rate were less positively correlated with the clothing microclimate (p < .01). The change of body heat content showed a negative correlation with the surface temperature of the innermost clothing (r = -0.519) and there was a difference between the innermost surface temperature and the outermost surface temperature of the clothing at the chest (r = -0.577). As td increased, the increase of body heat content declined (p < .01). There was a negative correlation between body fat and some of the temperatures inside the clothing (p < .01) and body fat had no significant correlation with the humidity inside the clothing. Subjective sensations were more highly correlated with $\bar{T}_{cl}$ than with the temperature of the inside clothing at the chest and had not significantly correlation with the humidity of the inside clothing. In conclusion, through these results, it can be seen that the temperature inside the clothing was related to various physiological responses and subjective sensations, and that the mean temperature of the inside clothing ($\bar{T}_{cl}$) showed a higher relationship with the temperature of the inside clothing at the abdomen than that at the chest.

  • In this paper we develop an equipment which prevents vehicles from overheating their inside due to exposure to direct sunlight in summer. Overheating of inside vehicle may give rise to accidents, for instances, dying from suffocation, the deformation of its internal equipment and the explosion from the cracks of its internal parts etc.. The equipment is operated under no starting engine. We adjust the overheating of the inside vehicle by operating the equipment. This equipment checks the temperature of the inside vehicle using temperature sensor. If the temperature increases more than reference temperature(a condition which can be given by the driver), the equipment will operate until the temperature of the inside decreases to the given temperature. Its power is obtained from solar cell. So the equipment keeps away overheating accidents as well as provides the drivers with optimized condition. And also it increases the ability of original car battery through solar cell.

  • The design or analysis of beehouse inside temperature environment based on steady heat transfer theory causes much deviation and theoretically it is impossible to control the inside temperature lower than the outside temperature under the condition that the bee produces heat and no cooling equipment is installed. But in practical use of beehouse, the inside temperature is somehow lower than the outside temperature because of the heat inertia of concrete floor. (omitted)

  • The wintering honey bee chambers were constructed and inside environment factors were analyzed to provide high technology for efficient wintering of honeybee colonies. As a result of this study, inside air temperature of yongin chamber under the wide range of outside temperature condition was found to be appropriated for wintering of bee, and inside temperature of beehive was about 2$^{\circ}C$ higher than the air temperature in the chamber. The fan operation schedule did not control the high temperature down properly in the chamber, It was necessary to find a new fan operation schedule to be able to provide the optimum temperature for wintering honey bee colonies. inside humidity variation of Yongin chamber was very much depended on outside humidity.

  • An experiment was performed to show the bio-signal characteristics of the Stuckyi when was heated. To measure the bio-signal of the plant, this study used the electrode with copper(+) and constantan(-). The electrode was directly inserted into the Stuckyi stems. And used T-type thermocouple to measure the inside temperature of the Stuckyi. During the experiments, room temperature also measured with T-type thermocouple. Heating was made with hair dryer periodically that 3 times turned on for heating 5 min and off for non-heating 25 min. Under the situation, the responses of the Stuckyi including voltage potential and inside temperature were measured using data logger(HP-34970A) according to the distances(15cm, 30cm, 45cm) between hair dryer and the plant. Through the experiments, We knew that the inside temperature has similar level and behavior with the room temperature at normal state. And during heating period, the inside temperature and the potential were also simultaneously increased sharply. From the experiments, we revealed that the measuring system of bio-signal of the plant being proposed in this study can be useful to show the Characteristics of the plants.

  • This study performed the evaluation of skin temperature, heart rate, humidity and temperature inside clothing, and subjective sensation to estimate the physiological responses of the human body and its feeling of comfort for developing value-added dox fabric. Experiments were performed on five healthy adult women whose average age was 21, at climate chamber in which temperature, relative humidity and air current were set up below $28{\pm}5^{\circ}C$, $50{\pm}10%$, 0.2m/s, respectively. Two kinds of clothes were used for the experiments: 100% cotton and dox clothes. The clothes were identical in size and form, and the attire consisted of long-sleeved shirts, long trousers, and socks. The experiment was performed for 30 minutes using ergometer. The results are as follows. 1) It showed low skin temperature of forearm, breast, back, forehead and lower leg in exercise, but high skin temperature of them in recovery. However skin temperature of thigh and foot increased from rest to recovery. 2) It showed significant difference (p<0.001, p<0.01) in average skin temperature between cotton and dox clothes. Cotton clothes had a higher average skin temperature compared to dox. Not only was there a significant difference in temperature inside clothing (p<0.001), this was also the case with humidity inside the clothing (p<0.001).

  • In order to make 3-D glass from 2-D glass for mobile device windows, a mold is used for heat forming. In this process, the temperature of the glass is very important. However, measuring the temperature of the glass inside the mold is very difficult owing to the mold structure and the high temperature. The purpose of this study is to measure the temperature inside the mold by using Process Temperature Control Rings (PTCR) and to compensate for temperature differences in the heat forming machine and inside the mold. The measuring method uses the ceramic material's shrinkage characteristics, which makes it possible to measure the temperature inside the mold at various locations.

  • Surplus water inside a concrete other than moisture that is used for hydration of the cement affects the physical properties of the concrete (modulus of elasticity, compressive strength, drying shrinkage, and creep) by drying. Changes in temperature and humidity inside a concrete has correlation with the movement speed and reaction rate of deterioration factors such as carbon dioxide and chloride ions. In this study, comparison was performed between temperature and relative humidity inside the concrete and meteorological data for exposure environment through measurement at the site for two years. Surface temperature of the concrete (depth 1cm) was measured higher by 6℃ during the summers, while it was measured lower by 2℃ during the winters due to solar radiation, wind, and radiation cooling. As for relative humidity, change was large in the depth of 1cm, while more than 85% was maintained in the depth of 10cm.
