  • Plasma processing plays a significant role in semiconductor devices technology. Development of new plasma systems, such as high-density plasma reactors, required development of plasma theory to understand a whole process mechanism and to be able to explain and to predict processing results. A most important task in this way is to establish interconnections between input process parameters (working gas, pressure, flow rate, input power density) and various plasma subsystems (electron gas, volume and heterogeneous gas chemistry, transport), which are closely connected one with other. It will allow select optimal ways for processes optimization.

Measurement of Plasma Density Generated by a Semiconductor Bridge: Related Input Energy and Electrode Material

  • The plasma densities generated from a semiconductor bridge (SCB) device employing a capacitor discharge firing set have been measured by a novel diagnostic technique employing a microwave resonator probe. The spatial resolution of the probe is comparable to the separation between the two wires of the transmission lines (${\approx}$3 mm). This method is superior to Langmuir probes in this application because Langmuir probe measurements are affected by sheath effects, small bridge area, and unknown fraction of multiple ions. Measured electron densities are related to the land material and input energy. Although electron densities in the plasma generated by aluminum or tungsten-land SCB devices show a general tendency to increase steadily with power, at the higher energies, the electron densities generated from tungsten-land SCB devices are found to remain constant.

  • As a result of growth sensor-enabled mobile devices such as PDA, cellular phone and other computing devices, in recent years, users can utilize the diverse digital contents everywhere and anytime. However, the interfaces of mobile applications are often unnatural due to limited resources and miniaturized input/output. Especially, users may feel this problem in some applications such as the mobile game. Therefore, Novel interaction forms have been developed in order to complement the poor user interface of the mobile device and to increase the interest for the mobile game. In this paper, we describe the demonstration of the gesture and posture input supported by an accelerometer. The application example we created are AM-Fishing game on the mobile device that employs the accelerometer as the main interaction modality. The demos show the usability for the gesture and posture interaction.

An Object Representation System Using Virtual Space Coordinates

  • Conventional Augmented Reality has used data gloves or markers for smooth interaction between objects and background. This causes inconvenience of use and lower immersion. To build up immersion in Augmented Reality, additional input devices must be removed. For this purpose, accurate recognition of space coordinates is needed even with no attachment of markers. This paper proposes a method to create virtual space coordinates for interaction without wearing additional input devices so as to improve immersion in Augmented Reality. The acquired image was projected to 2D space and vanishing lines were extracted to calculate the virtual space coordinates. Then the sizes of the inserted objects were varied in accordance with the size of the virtual coordinates area based on the image projected onto the 2D coordinates. This resulted in improved immersion. This method can increase the efficiency of object creation by excluding the use of a 3D modeler for creation of 3D objects.

  • The paper represents the fabrication of an electrostatic micro actuator for optical devices. The micro actuator consists of a plate suspended four p+ silicon cantilevers and an electrode on a glass substrate. The cantilever curls down because of the residual stress gradient in p+ silicon. When input voltage is applied between the p+ cantilevers and the electrode. the cantilevers are pulled toward the electrode by the electrostatic force. The displacement of the plate is measured with a laser displacement meter for various input voltage and frequencies.

Effect of Tactile Feedback for Button GUI on Mobile Touch Devices

  • This paper describes new tactile feedback patterns and the effect of their input performance for a button GUI activated by a tap gesture on mobile touch devices. Based on an analysis of touch interaction and informal user tests, several tactile feedback patterns were designed. Using these patterns, three user experiments were performed to investigate appropriate tactile feedback patterns and their input performance during interaction with a touch button. The results showed that a tactile pattern responding to each touch and release gesture with a rapid response time and short falling time provides the feeling of physically clicking a button. The suggested tactile feedback pattern has a significantly positive effect on the number of typing errors and typing task completion time compared to the performance when no feedback is provided.

Arbitrary Sampling Method for Nonlinearity Identification of Frequency Multipliers

  • It is presented that sampling rates for behavioral modeling of quasi-memory less nonlinear devices can be far less than the Nyquist rate of the input signal. Although it has been believed that the sampling rate of nonlinear device modeling should be at least the Nyquist rate of the output signal, this paper suggests that far less than the Nyquist rate of the input signal can be applied to the modeling of quasi-memoryless nonlinear devices, such as frequency multipliers. To verify, a QPSK signal at 820 MHz were applied to a frequency tripler, whereby the device can be utilized as an up-converting mixer into 2.46 GHz with the aid of digital predistortion. AM-AM, AM-PM and PM-PM can be successfully measured regardless of sampling rates.

  • 표면광 마이크로 레잊, heterojunction phototransistor 그리고 저항을 단일 결정으로 성장시켜 집적시킨 NOR와 INVERTER 능동형 광 논리 소자에 대한 동작 특성을 조사하였다. 능동형 광 놀리 소자를 구성하는 개개 소자 중에서, 780 nm에서 발진하는 특정한 AlGaAs 초격자 마이크로 레이저의 미분 양자 효율은 15%로 나타났고, heterojunction phototransistor의 전류 이득은 에미터-컬렉터 전압이 4V이고, 입력 광의 세기가 $50{\mu}W$일 때 57으로 측정되었다. 직렬 저항이 370 ohm인 광 논리 소자의 출력은 입력광세기사 $47{\mu}W$일 때 $57{\mu}W$에서 $0{\mu}W$으로 감소하였다.

BLE 네트워크에서 무결성 침해 중간자 공격에 대한 대응기법 (Countermeasure against MITM attack Integrity Violation in a BLE Network)

  • BLE protocol prevents MITM attacks with user interaction through some input/output devices such as keyboard or display. Therefore, If it use a device which has no input/output facility, it can be vulnerable to MITM attack. If messages to be sent to a control device is forged by MITM attack, the device can be abnormally operated by malicious attack from attacker. Therefore, we describes a scenario which has the vulnerabilities of the BLE network in this paper and propose countermeasure method against MITM attacks integrity violations. Its mechanism provides data confidentiality and integrity with MD5 and security key distribution of Diffie Helman's method. In order to verify the effectiveness of the countermeasure method proposed in this paper, we have conducted the experiments. ​As experiments, the message was sent 200 times and all of them successfully detected whether there was MITM attack or not. In addition, it took at most about 4.2ms delay time with proposed countermeasure method between devices even attacking was going on. It is expected that more secure data transmission can be achieved between IoT devices on a BLE network through the method proposed.

데이터베이스에 근거한 자동 키보드의 입력 방법 (Research on the Automatic Software Keyboard Based on Database)

  • 최근 들어 하드웨어 키보드가 제한적인 모바일 단말기에서 소프트웨어 키보드가 광범위하게 사용되고 있다 본 연구에서는 데이터베이스 분석을 통해 최적의 키보드 공간을 생성하여 최소의 입력 단계로 원하는 입력이 가능한 새로운 소프트웨어 키보드 입력 방법을 제시하였다. 제안된 소프트웨어 키보드는 입력 가능한 모든 단어를 분석하여 각각의 입력 단계에 따라 동적으로 생성된다. 이때 최소한의 키 버튼만을 도시함으로써 키 버튼 선택 영역을 최소화하고 키 입력 실수를 방지한다. 또한 입력 가능한 단어들의 수가 제한적일 때 후입력 자동 완성 기능을 제공함으로써 키 버튼 선택 횟수를 최소화할 수 있다.
