107의 Rayleigh 수에서 원형 실린더가 존재하는 사각형 실린더 내부의 자연대류에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of Natural Convection in a Square Enclosure with an Inner Circular Cylinder for Rayleigh Number of 107)

  • 고온의 내부 원형 실린더가 존재하는 저온의 사각 밀폐계 사이의 온도차이에 의해 발생하는 자연대류에 관해 수치해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 내부의 원형 실린더를 표현하기 위해 유한 체적법에 기초한 가상 경계법을 사용하여 Ra = $10^7$ 에서 2 차원 비정상상태의 자연대류 현상에 대한 해를 얻었다. 더욱이 밀폐계의 수직 중심선에 따른 내부 원형 실린더의 위치 변화에 의한 열전달과 유동에 관한 영향을 연구하였다. 내부원형 실린더의 위치 변화에 따라 자연대류 현상은 비정상상태에서 정상상태로 변화 되었다. 연구 결과 두가지의 임계 위치를 얻을 수 있었다. 하부 경계는 0.05 인 지점이고 상부경계는 0.18 인 지점이다. 하부 경계와 상부 경계의 사이의 위치에서는 열 및 유동장이 정상상태임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This report describes the experimental research on the flow phenomena of the aq uaous polymer solution within the Cuette flow of the concentric, cylinders type with a wide circular gap. We have investigated the phenomena of the fluid flow through torque measuring in the system that the inner cylinder is stationary and the outer one is rotating. Geometrical parameters of the system are the gap ratio of t/R$_{0}$=0.2 and Aspect ratio of l/t=100. The torque increases considerably in about 420-480RPM, So, it is considered a turbulent transition boundary, the higher plymer concentration is, the lower torque value is and the higher transition Reynolds number is. In each of the polymer concentration, the unstable boundary of torque, that is, idiosyncrasies of torque is observed around 220-280RPM. and the boundary is looked upon as a resonant vibration which is caused by the inner cylinder and tortional vibration of torque sensor.r.

The Effect of Serrated Fins on the Flow Around a Circular Cylinder

  • An experimental study is performed to investigate the characteristics of near wake flow behind a circular cylinder with serrated fins using a constant temperature anemometer and flow visualization. Various vortex shedding modes are observed. Fin height and pitch are closely related to the vortex shedding frequency after a certain transient Reynolds number. The through velocity across the fins decreases with increasing fin height and decreasing fin pitch. Vortex shedding is affected strongly by the velocity distribution just on top of the finned tube. The weaker gradient of velocity distribution is shown as increasing the freestream velocity and the fin height, while decreasing the fin pitch. The weaker velocity gradient delays the entrainment flow and weakens its strength. As a result of this phenomenon, vortex shedding is decreased. The effective diameter is defined as a virtual circular cylinder diameter taking into account the volume of fins, while the hydraulic diameter is proposed to cover the effect of friction by the fin surfaces. The Strouhal number based upon the effective diameters seems to correlate well with that of a circular cylinder without fins. After a certain transient Reynolds number, the trend of the Strouhal number can be estimated by checking the ratio of effective diameter to inner diameter. The normalized velocity and turbulent intensity distributions with the hydraulic diameter exhibit the best correlation with the circular cylinder's data.

내부 원형 실린더의 위치 변화에 따른 기울어진 사각 밀폐계 내부의 자연대류 현상 (Natural Convection in Tilted Square Enclosure with Inner Circular Cylinder at Different Vertical Locations)

  • 본 연구에서는 $45^{\circ}$기울어진 저온의 사각형 밀폐계 내부에 존재하는 고온의 원형 실린더의 위치 변화에 따른 밀폐계 내부 자연대류 현상에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. Rayleigh 수는 $10^3$부터 $10^5$까지 변화하였으며 내부 실린더의 위치는 $-0.4{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}0.4$ 범위에서 0.1 간격으로 변화시켰다. 원형 실린더의 위치 변화에 따른 밀폐계 내부의 자연대류 현상은 실린더 표면과 밀폐계 표면의 Nu 수, 밀폐계 내부의 등온선 및 유선을 바탕으로 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 고려한 Rayleigh 수의 범위와 원형 실린더의 위치 범위에서는 밀폐계 내부의 열유동은 정상상태의 특성을 보였다. 그리고 내부 원형 실린더가 벽면에 가까워 질수록 실린더벽면과 밀폐계 벽면의 평균 Nu 수가 증가하였다.

내부가 빈 원기둥의 수직운동 특성 (Characteristics of Heaving Motion of Hollow Circular Cylinder)

  • In the present investigation, the hydrodynamic characteristics of a vertically floating hollow cylinder in regular waves have been studied. The potential theory for solving the diffraction and radiation problem was employed by assuming that the heave response motion was linear. By using the matched eigenfunction expansion method, the characteristics of the exciting forces, hydrodynamic coefficients, and heave motion responses were investigated with various system parameters such as the radius and draft of a hollow cylinder. In the present analytical model, two resonances are identified: the system resonance of a hollow cylinder and the piston-mode resonance in the confined inner fluid region. The piston resonance mode is especially important in the motion response of a hollow circular cylinder. In many cases, the heave response at the piston resonance mode is large, and its resonant frequency can be predicted using the empirical formula of Fukuda (1977). The present design tool can be applied to analyze the motion response of a spar offshore structure with a moon pool.

  • The scattered electric field from a multilayered circular dielectric cylinder is caculated. Approximate boundary condition used in on-surface radiation boundary condition(OSRC) method has been applied to all the boundary surface of N-layered dielectric cylinder. It was assumed that scattered electric field at inner boundary surface in one region transmitted to the adjacent region at outer boundary surface. In the whole region, the unknown coefficients of electric field are acquired by the given incident electric field with ease. Electric field distribution at each boundary surface and the scattered electric field in free space are taken with the calculated unknown coefficients. the results obtainted were compared with those results that were used by regular surface boundary condition.

연속적인 곡선으로 정의 되는 볼록한 형상의 사이클론에 대한 연구 (Study of Convex Cyclone with Continuous Curve)

  • A cyclone design concept named Convex cyclone was developed to reduce pressure losses. Contrary to conventional cylinder-on-con type cyclone, inner wall of Convex cyclone are defined with a continuous curve and it has convex shape body. The discontinuity of inner diameter variation rate of cylinder-on-con type cyclone cause additional pressure loss. Continuous wall of Convex cyclone prevent additional pressure loss. In order to verify Convex cyclone design concept, we make a comparative experiments between Stairmand HE and Convex cyclone. Experimental Convex cyclone designed based on Stairmand HE model, and inner wall are defined with circular arch. The experimental result clearly shows that Convex cyclone can achieve maximum 50% pressure loss reduction with a few percent of collection efficiency drop. In addition, the experimental results indicated the existence of optimum convexity, minimum pressure loss, of cyclone wall.

  • 잠수된 원형실린더의 대진폭운동에 대한 수치해석이 제시된다. 방법은 포텐셜이론에 근간을 두고 정현파중에서 2차원 운동은 초기치 문제로 귀결된다. 완전한 비선형자유표면 조건은 수치 계산영역에서 적용되고, 비선형 수치해는 수치계산의 임의의 가정된 경계를 따라 외부영역에서의 선형해로서 부과된다. 잠수된 원형실린더의 대진폭운동의 계산은 직접적으로 시간영역에서 시뮬레이션된다. 계산결과로 부터 물체와 유체입자의 상호 운동은 부양운동과 표류운동에 중요한 효과를 준다.

  • Numerical calculations are carried out for the natural convection in a square enclosure with two hot cylinders induced by temperature difference between a cold outer rectangular cylinder and two hot circular cylinders. A two-dimensional solution for unsteady natural convection is obtained, using the immersed boundary method (IBM) to model two inner circular cylinders based on finite volume method, for different Rayleigh numbers varying over the range of $10^3$ to $10^5$. The study goes further to investigate the effect of the location of two cylinders on the heat transfer and fluid flow. The location of inner circular cylinders is changed vertically along the center-line of square enclosure. The changes of heat transfer quantities have been presented.

  • The bi-material elastic system consisting of the circular hollow cylinder and the infinite elastic medium surrounding this cylinder is considered and it is assumed that on the inner free face of the cylinder a point-located axisymmetric time harmonic force, with respect to the cylinder's axis and which is uniformly distributed in the circumferential direction, acts. The shear-spring type imperfect contact conditions on the interface between the constituents are satisfied. The mathematical formulation of the problem is made within the scope of the exact equations of linear elastodynamics. The focus is on the frequency-response of the interface normal and shear stresses and the influence of the problem parameters, such as the ratio of modulus of elasticity, the ratio of the cylinder thickness to the cylinder radius, and the shear-spring type parameter which characterizes the degree of the contact imperfectness, on these responses. Corresponding numerical results are presented and discussed. In particular, it is established that the character of the influence of the contact imperfection on the frequency response of the interface stresses depends on the values of the vibration frequency of the external forces.
