흡기포트압력을 이용한 SI엔진의 체적효율 및 토크 성능 분석 (Analysis on Volumetric Efficiency and Torque Characteristics Using Inlet Port Pressure in SI Engines)

  • 본 연구에서는 여러가지 흡기관 조건 및 밸브타이밍 변화에 대하여, 현재까지 연구에서 확인된 IVC에서 흡기포트압력 값의 체적효율에 대한 영향을 검토하고, 흡기 밸브가 열리는 동안 흡기 포트압력의 어느 부분 또는 지점이 엔진의 체적효율 변화를 설명해 줄 수가 있는지를 실험적으로 규명하고자 하였다.이 목적을 위해 각 흡입조 건에 대한 흡기포트압력 및 엔진 성능값을 측정.분석하여 서로의 연관성을 비교, 검토 하였다.

터보챠져 저어널베어링의 설계에 관한 매개변수 연구 (Parametric Study on the Design of Turbocharger Journal Bearing)

  • Turbocharger bearings are under the circumstance of high temperature, moreover rotated at high speed. It is necessary to be designed to overcome the high temperature. So the type of oil inlet port, the inlet oil temperature and the sort of engine oil should be designed, controlled and selected carefully in order to reduce the bearing inside temperature. Therefore, in this study, the effects of the type of inlet oil port, inlet temperature and the sort of engine oil on the performance of a turbocharger bearing are to be investigated. It is found that the type of oil inlet ports, the control of inlet oil temperature and the selection of engine oil type play important roles in determining the temperature and pressure, then the friction and load of a turbocharger journal bearing at high speed operation.

Design of Port Plate in Gerotor Pump for Reduction of Pressure Pulsation

  • The pressure pulsation due to the gear geometry of the gerotor (generalized rotor) pump mainly occurs in an instant that the chamber of the gerotor enters the delivery port and leaves the suction one. Such a pressure pulsation may result in undesirable vibration and noise of pump components as well as cavitation in hydraulic system. Therefore, it is very important to examine the pressure characteristic of the gerotor pump at its design and analysis stages. In this paper, in order to reduce the pressure pulsation in the gerotor pump, the port plate with the relief grooves is designed by referring to as notch of vane pump and relief groove of piston pump. A series of the theoretical analyses on the pressure pulsation is performed in consideration of various design parameters of the port plate, including the installation positions of the port inlet/outlet and the groove width, and the operating conditions such as rotational velocity and delivery pressure.

충격을 받는 세라믹돔의 기하형상에 따른 파괴해석 (A Fracture Analysis on the Ceramic Dome with Different Geometry under Impact)

  • The experiment of dome port cover under shock impact is performed with shock tube. The dome port cover blocked intake air duct up from the solid propellant during air breathing vehicle speed reach Mach 2.0. When the air breathing vehicle reach Mach 2.0, the inlet cover is removed and the dome port cover is broken to pieces by detonator or pressure of inlet air. Thus the dome port cover not only must stand the pressure of combustion chamber but also easy to break from the RAM pressure. In this study, a fracture evaluation on the $Al_2O_3$ ceramic spherical dome and circular plate port under impact has been presented. Ceramic were supported by the rigid body and a couple of O-ring. The Mooney-Rivlin model have been used to describe behaviors of both O-ring. And spherical dome and circular plate fracture results of the LS-DYNA code using Johnson-Holmquist(JH-2) constitutive equation was compared.

Parametric Study on the Design of Turbocharger Journal Bearing - Aeration Effects

  • Turbocharger bearings are under the circumstance of high temperature, moreover rotated at high speed. It is necessary to be designed overcoming the high temperature. So the type of oil inlet port, the inlet oil temperature and the sort of engine oil should be designed, controlled and selected carefully in order to reduce the bearing inside temperature. In this study, the influence of aerated oil on a high-speed journal bearing is also examined by using the classical thermohydrodynamic lubrication theory coupled with analytical models for viscosity and density of air-oil mixture in fluid-film bearing. Convection to the walls and mixing with supply oil and re-circulating oil are considered. The considered parameters for the study of bubbly lubrication are oil inlet port's type, oil aeration level and shaft speed. It is found that the type of oil inlet ports and shaft speed play important roles in determining the temperature and pressure, then the friction and load of journal bearing at high speed operation. Also, the results show that, under extremely high shaft speed, the high shear effects on aerated oil and the high temperature effects are canceled out each other. So, the bearing load and friction show almost no difference between the aerated oil and pure oil.

소형엔진 기화기 내의 흡기 맥동 특성 (Characteristics of Pressure wave Pulsation at Carburetor on Small SI Engine)

  • This paper presents the pulsation of carburetor inlet and outlet pressure of a small SI gasoline engine. The engine used in this paper is a 23cc, single cylinder, diaphragm carburetor, two-stroke, air-cooled for brush cutter. The rpm and pressure wave pulsation at the inlet and the outlet of carburetor were measured and analysed for the understand of the internal air flow into the barrel on the diaphragm carburetor. These data should be used for the development of the duel fuel injection system for gasoline and LPG. The results showed that the carburetor inlet pressure variations were very steady, but the pressure variations at carburetor outlet were very sensitive to the pressure variation into the crank case and were to similar independently to the engine speed on partial opened throttle conditions. According to increasing engine speed, the pressure waves started to come out and be developed after closing the intake port of the engine at carburetor outlet. Reverse flow occurred on the WOT (wide open throttle) condition.

신회유동을 갖는 압력식 분무기의 분무특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics of the Pressure Swirl Atomizer)

  • In this study, spray characteristics of the pressure swirl atomizer have teen investigated. Four atomizers with the different orifice diameter and five tangential ports with the different inlet number were fabricated. For the purpose of the measurement of the mean drop sine, Malvern particle sizer was used. And also discharge coefficient was measured and spray cone angle was measured by using shadow graphy method. As a result when the injection pressure was increased, mean drop size was decreased. And the dominant factor which influence on the spray characteristics of pressure swirl atomizer was orifice diameter.

  • Comprehensive investigation on the outlet's geometric shapes of a centrifugal blower with higher inlet resistance than an atmospheric pressure is carried out for improvements of its performance. Most unwanted behaviors of such blower are pulsating flows because of unbalance between inflows and outflows in a scroll casing. In order to reduce this undesirable phenomenon a triump is made for both the shape of outlet duct and an accessory structure inserted in the outlet port of the blower. The modification on the shape is concerned with the contraction of cross sectional area and the attached structure is for an intentional obstruction to cause a flow resistance. The details of the modification are examined for different cases and results. The methodologies for the work are performance evaluations including noise level and velocity measurements with PIV Consequently, the performance of improved system is close to that of the system operating with atmospheric pressure at the inlet.

흡기중의 수증기분압과 점화시기 및 연료 변화에 따른 스파크 점화기관의 화염 전파 특성 분석 (An Experimental Analysis of the Effects of Water Vapor Partial Pressure in Inlet Air, Spark Advance and Fuel Type on the Flame Propagation in a Spark Ingnition Engine)

  • In this study, the effects of water vapor in inlet air, spark advance and fuel type in the spark ignition engine were investigated through the experiments of combustion and flame arriving pattern analysis using ionization probe. The results of flame propagation experiment using ionization probe show that the flame which ignited from spark plug located at the center of the combustion chamber propagated faster in exhaust side than in intake side due to the mixture flow motion inducted into combustion chamber from intake tumble port at all conditions. And as the partial vapor pressure increased, the flame propagation became slower in all direction. Especially effects were greater for intake side than the exhaust side.
