열응력과 잔류응력하의 다층박막의 피로수명 해석 (Fatigue Life Analysis on Multi-Stacked Film Under Thermal and Residual Stresses)

  • Reliability problem in inkjet printhead, one of MEMS devices, is also very important. To eject an ink drop, the temperature of heater must be high so that ink contacting with surface reaches above $280^{o}C$ on the instant. Its heater is embedded in the thin multi-layer in which several materials are deposited. MEMS processes are the main sources of residual stresses development. Residual stress is one of the factors reducing the reliability of MEMS devices. We measured residual stresses of single layers that consist of multilayer. FE analysis is performed using design of experiment(DOE). Transient analysis for heat transfer is performed to get a temperature distribution. And then static analysis is performed with the temperature distribution obtained by heat transfer analysis and the measured residual stresses to get a stress distribution in the structure. Although the residual stress is bigger than thermal stress, thermal stress is more influential on fatigue life.

3차원 프린팅(3DP) 공정을 기반으로 한 임의형상제작(SFF) 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of SFF System based on 3DP Process)

  • Nowadays, Three dimensional printing (3DP) technique that is one of solid freeform fabrication (SFF) technology has been notable issue, and has been applied by various fields. The SFF system can fabricate three dimensional objects of solid freeform with high speed and low cost using ink jet printing technology. In this research, a SFF system to analyze 3DP process technology is developed. We applied sliding mode control with sliding perturbation observer (SMCSPO) algorithm and minimized position error to the developed SFF system. We analyzed and optimized process variables such as jetted volume, layer thickness, powder bed and so on experimentally. Also. the dimensional error of a developed SFF system is evaluated. Finally, the feasibility of application to bio manufacturing is presented through successful fabrication of teeth and cranium model.

  • magnetron-sputtering법을 사용하여 $Cr_{1-x}Al_xN$ 박막을 증착함에 있어 Al 함량의 변화를 주었다. 그 후 열처리를 통하여 thermal inkjet 방식 print head의 heater resistor 소재로서의 특성 향상을 도모하였다. Al의 함량이 증가할수록 결정구조는 NaCl에서 wurtzite HCP 구조로 변화하였으며 전기적 특성 또한 다르게 나타났다. 비열처리 시 Al 함량이 클수록 결정성은 떨어진다는 것을 확인하였고, 열처리 시 Al 함량이 적을 수 록 더 안정한 온도 저항 계수를 나타내는 것을 확인하였다.

산업용 잉크젯 프린트 장치의 압전 헤드에 대한 액적분사 특성해석 (Droplet Characteristics Analysis for Piezoelectric head of Industrial Inkjet Print System)

  • 본 논문에서는 FEM (Finite Element Method)을 이용한 압전세라믹의 특성해석을 통하여 잉크젯 프린트헤드를 설계, 제작하였다. 압전세라믹의 물질특성과 잉크유체 특성을 고려한 굽힘 모드방식의 구동원리와 이론정립을 하였다. 압전방정식은 압전구조에 의한 공진주파수로 압전 파라미터를 구할 수 있고, 실험을 통하여 이러한 측정값을 얻을 수 있었다. 제작된 압전세라믹 프린트헤드의 잉크드롭 실험결과 통하여 이에 대한 특성을 알 수 있었다. 이때 잉크유체의 음파와 압전 공진주파수 범위 내에서 압전세라믹 응력(변형)의 이득을 발생할 수 있음을 제작한 128노즐의 압전세라믹 잉크젯 프린트헤드로부터 알 수 있었다.

DoD 메탈젯 시스템의 이론적 해석 및 실험적 분석 (Theoretical Analysis and Experimental Characterization of DoD Metal-Jet System)

  • In this paper, we present a design, analysis, fabrication and performance test of the novel DoD metal-jet system for application to the high-density and high-temperature-melting materials. The theoretical analysis of the metal-jet nozzle system is derived by using electro-mechanical analogy. Based on the theoretical analysis results, we design the metal-jet print head system and fabricate the metal-jet system, which can eject the droplet of lead-free metal solder in high-temperature. In the experimental test, we set up the test apparatus for visualization of the droplet ejection and measure the ejected droplet volume and velocity. As a result, the diameter, volume and the velocity of the ejected droplet are about 65 $\mu$m $\sim$ 70 $\mu$m, 145p1 $\sim$ 180 pl and 4m/s, which shows quite good agreement with the theoretical analysis results of the 75 $\mu$m-diameter and 220 pl-volume of droplet. In comparison with the experimental result, the errors of diameter and volume are 7% $\sim$ 13% and 18 $\sim$ 34%, respectively.

  • An EHD (Electro-Hydro-Dynamic) jet for electrostatic inkjet head shows advantages to print micro-size patterns using various inks because it can generate sub-micron droplets and can use highly viscous inks. Thus, many researchers in industrial fields are concerned about the EHD jet in these days. Since the basic principle of the EHD jet is to form a droplet from an apex of meniscus at the end of the nozzle, the ejection mechanism can be changed by the shape of the meniscus. The stable ejection of the droplet is greatly affected by the shape of the meniscus which is also influenced by surface characteristics of the nozzle, electric potential and ink properties. Experiments have been performed using the nozzles with hydrophilic and hydrophobic coatings in this study. The hydrophobic nozzle forms the stable droplets in wider range of the electric potential than the hydrophilic nozzle does.
