High Brightness Prism Light-guide Plate for TFT-LCDs Using Optical Simulation and Novel Injection Mold Process (광학시뮬레이션과 새로운 사출성형법을 사용한 TFT-LCD용 고휘도 프리즘 도광판)

  • We have designed high performance prism light-guide plate (LGP) in 17 inch TFT-LCD. In test result to embody high brightness BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 17 inch, thickness 8mm adding prism construct. Using optical simulation, we forecast the brightness and uniformity in LGP with prism structure. And we adopted novel injection mold method and Nickel stamper to make actual evolution sample. Novel injection mold process has steady heating time zone in heat cycle time of injection mold process. For this novel heat cycle control, we achieved above 90[%] height prism structure as our design. It is superior brightness improvement than previous that of printing form about some 20[%] and in this course to embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 17 inch injection form process.

  • There are two types of electric controlled fuel injection system in the gasoline engines of common vehicles. One is fuel return system and the other is fuel returnless system according to the methods of controlling injection pressures. It is important to understand the characteristics of these system in loaming and studying of engine, but it is very difficult without a special equipment in reality. The purpose of this paper is to develop the emulation system that can be compensated with the amount of injection fuel according to various driving conditions, battery voltage, cooling water temperature, and engine speed, may be appeared in real driving, and especially can analyze the difference between the electric signal controlling the amount of injection fuel and its result, and nullity injection duration. With the developed system, we can conveniently set various and completed driving condition and so can acquire the useful information such as non-uniformity rate and mass of injection fuel using waveform analysis and measurement modules. It must be a very useful and sophisticated system to instruct and learn the features and operating states of injection system, and to study f3r improving the performance of it.

  • We have observed the short-channel effect, narrow-channel effect and small-geometry effect in terms of a variation of the threshold voltage. For a short-channel effect the threshold voltage was largely determined by the DIBL effect which stimulates more carrier injection in the channel by reducing the potential barrier between the source and channel. The effect becomes more significant for a shorter-channel device. However, the potential, field and current density distributions in the channel along the transverse direction showed a better uniformity for shorter-channel devices under the same voltage conditions. The uniformity of the current density distribution near the drain on the potential minimum point becomes worse with increasing the drain voltage due to the enhanced DIBL effect. This means that considerations for channel-width effect should be given due to the variation of the channel distributions for short-channel devices. For CCDs which are always operated at a pinch-off state the channel uniformity thus becomes significant since they often use a device structure with a channel length of > 4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and a very high drain (or diffusion) voltage.   • The purpose of this research is to enhance the luminance of the LED and to improve the implementation of color by mounting an array lens on the LED without special technology in process. The workmanship of key components considering the economical efficiency and the injection molding technology for high quality of the product are essential to achieve it. In this paper, the mold was computer-aided was designed and manufactured by CAM software (NX4) and high speed machining center. the applied final machining conditions were 3,000-5,000mm/min feed speed, 15,000-25,000rpm and ${\Phi}0.3mm$ ball end-mill. And the Flow analysis was performed using the mold flow software(MPI) in order to get uniformity of resin. Injection conditions acquired by the flow analysis and the injection experiment are as follows. The cylinder temperature is $220-260^{\circ}C$, the mold temperature is $70-80^{\circ}C$, the injection time is about 1.2sec, the injection pressure and velocity is each 7.8-14.7Mpa, and the injection velocity is 0.8-1.2m/sec.

  • The injection molding is very effective process for various plastic products due to its high productivity. It is also good fur precise products like optical parts. Various thermoplastic materials are also available with this injection molding process. In recent, however, as the overall size of the product increases and micro or nano scale of patterns are applied to the products, we now have some problems such as low fidelity of the replication of the pattern, high molding pressure, or warpage from the in-mold stress. Injection/compression molding is studied to overcome those problems in molding large thin plate with micro pattern array on its surface. An injection compression mold is designed to 3 pieces mold for side gate. We install 4 pressure transducers and 9 thermocouples to measure the melt pressure and surface temperature in the cavity during the process. As a result, the maximum molding pressure for injection compression molding is reduced to 1/3 compared to injection molding and the uniformity of the pressure in the cavity is enhanced by about 15%.

A Comparative Study on the Impermeability-reinforcement Performance of Old Reservoir from Injection and Deep Mixing Method through Laboratory Model Test (실내모형시험을 통한 지반혼합 및 주입공법의 노후저수지 차수 보강성능 비교 연구)

  • Of the 17,106 domestic reservoirs(as of December 2020), 14,611 are older than 50 years, and these old reservoirs will gradually increase over time. The injection grouting method is most applied to the reinforcement method of the aging reservoir. However, the injection grouting method is not accurate in uniformity and reinforced area. An laboratory model test was conducted to evaluate the applicability of the deep mixing method, which compensated for these shortcomings, as a reservoir reinforcement method. As a result of calculating the hydraulic conductiveity for each method through the model test results, the injection grouting method was calculated as a hydraulic conductiveity value that was about 7.5 times larger than that of the deep mixing method. As a result of measuring the water level change in the laboratory model test, it was found that the water level change decreased in the injection method and deep mixing method compared to the non-reinforcement method. In addition, deep mixing method showed a water level change of about 15% based on 40 hours compared to the injection method, indicating that the water-reducing effect was superior to that of the injection method.

Characteristic of Tractor Attachment Boom Sprayer Nozzle (트랙터 부착 붐 방제기 노즐 분무특성)

  • Spraying of nozzles and design of tractor-attached boom sprayers have been studied for analysis of liquid spraying features. The following conclusions have been drawn. At all pressures, twin flat spray tips was finer than flat spray tips. A fine spray with VMD of 101 to 200 appeared at 1.5MPa. So, it was selected as the boom sprayer nozzle. In spraying uniformity analysis, Type B was proven to have more uniformity than Type A and Type C at 52.0 cm attached distance. Type A and Type C were proven to have more uniformity than Type B at 58.5 cm attached distance. It is concluded that these results reflect atomizing characteristics of nozzles during pest control with tractor-attached boom sprayer. Therefore, optimum setting will be putting Type C with 58.5 cm distance.

  • Since emission regulations for vehicles have become more stringent, SCR technology has drawn a strong attention in order to reduce NOx emissions. Optimal design of a reductant injection nozzle and a multi-hole plate located between the cone and catalyst is critical in that the uniform distribution of reductant is necessary to maximize the NOx conversion efficiency and minimize the slip of reductant in SCR. In this work, an LPG fuel(C3H8 in vapor state) was used as a reductant for LPG vehicles. A Realizable k-$\varepsilon$ model is used for turbulence, and SCR body is defined as porous media with inertia and viscous resistances measured in this work. Effect of the number of nozzle holes on the flow mixing index was analyzed, which revealed that a four hole nozzle shows the best performance in terms of uniformity of flow. An installment of a multi-hole plate at the entrance of catalyst was evaluated with flow mixing index, uniformity of flow, and pressure drop. A multi-hole plate with gradual hole diameter change in three steps showed the best uniformity of flow within the conditions suggested in this work.

  • Diesel engines have the advantages of higher thermal efficiency and lower CO2 emissions than gasoline engines, but have the disadvantages that particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions are greater than those of gasoline engines. In particular, nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted from diesel engines generates secondary ultrafine dust (PM2.5) through photochemical reactions in the atmosphere, which is fatal to humans. In order to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx), pre-treatment systems such as EGR, post-treatment systems such as LNT and Urea SCR have been actively studied. The Urea SCR consists of an injection device injecting urea agent and a catalytic device for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx). The nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction performance varies greatly depending on the urea uniformity in the exhaust pipe. In this study, spray characteristics according to the spray hole structure were confirmed, and the influence of spray uniformity on spray characteristics was studied through engine evaluation.

A Study on the Characteristic and Droplet Uniformity of Spray Injection to Exhaust Gas Flow from Urea Solution Injector (Urea 수용액의 배기가스 유동장내 분무 특성과 분무 균일도에 관한 연구)

  • Diesel engines can produce higher fuel efficiency and lower $CO_2$ emission, they are subject to ever more stringent emission regulation. However, there are two major emission concerns fo diesel engines like such as particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Moreover, it is not easy to satisfy the regulations on the emission of NOx and PM, which are getting more strengthened. One of the solutions is to apply the new combustion concept using multistage injection such as HCCI and PCCI. The other solution is to apply after-treatment systems. For example, lean NOx trap catalyst, Urea-SCR and others have various advantages and disadvantages Especially, Urea-SCR system have advantages such as a high conversion efficiency and a wide operation conditions. Hence the key factor to implementation of Urea-SCR technology, good mixing of urea(Ammonia) and gas, reducing Ammonia slip. Urea mixer components are required to facilitate evaporation and mixing because the liquid state of urea poses significant barriers for evaporation, and the distance to mixer is the most critical that affect mixer performance. In this study, to find out the distance from injector to mixer and simulation factor, a laser diagnostics and high speed camera are used to analyze urea injector spray characteristics and to present a distribution of urea solution in transparent manifold In addition, Droplet Uniformity Index is calculated from the acquired images by using image processing method to clarify the distribution of spray.
