This basic study is required to examine spray or jet behavior depending on fuel phase. In this study, analyses of diesel fuel(n-Tridecane, $C_{13}H_{28}$) spray and natural gas fuel(Methane, $CH_4$) jet under high temperature and pressure are performed by a general-purpose program, ANSYS CFX release 11.0, and the results of these are compared with experimental results of diesel fuel spray using the exciplex fluorescence method. The simulation results of diesel spray is analyzed by using the combination of Large-Eddy Simulation(LES) and Lagrangian Particle Tracking(LPT) and of a natural gas jet is analyzed by using Multi-Component Model(MCM). There are two study variables considered, that is, ambient pressure and injection pressure. In a macroscopic analysis, the higher ambient pressure is, the shorter spray or jet tip penetration is at each time after start of injection. And the higher injection pressure is, the longer spray or jet tip penetration is at each time after start of injection. When liquid fuel is injected, droplets of the fuel need some time to evaporate. However, when natural gas fuel is injected, the fuel does not need time to evaporate. Gas fuel consists of minute particles. Therefore, the gas fuel is mixed with the ambient gas more quickly at the initial time of injection than the liquid fuel is done. The experimental results also validate the usefulness of this analysis.
In order to predict the moldability of a injection molded part, a simulation of filling is needed. Short shot is one of the most frequent troubles encountered during injection molding process. The adjustment of process conditions is the most economic way to troubleshoot the problematic short shot in cost and time since the mold doesn't need to be modified at all. But it is difficult to adjust the process conditions appropriately in no times since it requires an empirical knowledge of injection molding. In this paper, the intelligent CAE system synergistically combines fuzzy-neural network (FNN) for heuristic knowledge with CAE programs for analytical knowledge. To evaluate the intelligent algorithms, a cellular phone flip has been chosen as a finite element model and filling analyses have been performed with a commercial CAE software. As the results, the intelligent CAE system drastically reduces the troubleshooting time of short shot in comparison with the experts' conventional methodology which is similar to the golden section search algorithm.
We have designed high performance prism light-guide plate (LGP) in 17 inch TFT-LCD. In test result to embody high brightness BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 17 inch, thickness 8mm adding prism construct. Using optical simulation, we forecast the brightness and uniformity in LGP with prism structure. And we adopted novel injection mold method and Nickel stamper to make actual evolution sample. Novel injection mold process has steady heating time zone in heat cycle time of injection mold process. For this novel heat cycle control, we achieved above 90[%] height prism structure as our design. It is superior brightness improvement than previous that of printing form about some 20[%] and in this course to embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 17 inch injection form process.
A simple two-terminal cyclic current-voltage(I-V) technique is used to measure the current-transients in MOS capacitors. Distinct charging/discharging currents were measured and analyzed as a function of (1) the hold time. (2) the gate polarity during the FNT electron injection, (3) the injection fluence and (4) the annealing time after the injection had stopped. Discharging and charging current-transients were strongly dependent upon the conditions for forming the inversion layer and the density of interface traps caused during the FNT electron injection, respectively. Several tentative mechanisms were suggested in the current work.

A Direct injection -mixing total -flow -control sprayer was developed and evaluated . The system provided precise application rates and minimized operator exposure to chemicals as well as providing a possibility for recycling container so f unused chemicals that can causes environmental contamination. Chemicals were metered and injected proportionally to the diluent flow rate to provide constant concentrations. The main diluent flow was varied in response to changes in travel speed. Experimental variables of the sprayer were the control interval, the sensitivity of flow regulating valve, the tolerance of control object and the sensitivity of the injection pump system. The optimal performance of the flow control system was with an average response time of 8.5 sec at an absolute steady state of error of 0.067 L/min (0.8% of flow rate). The average response time of the injection rate was -0.53 sec and the coefficient of variation (CV) of concentration was 3.2%.
Pressure distribution in the cavity during injection molding affects part quality. In this study pressure distributions in the runner, near gate in the cavity, and end of ail in the cavity have been measured using direct pressure sensors for various molding conditions. Molding conditions were injection speed, injection pressure, packing time from filing stage, and packing pressure. Through experiments it was realized that the packing time from filling stage and packing pressure are the dominant factors on the part quality such as part shrinkage. Experimental results have been compared with computer simulations.
This paper present the diesel fuel spray evolution and atomization performance in a multi-hole nozzle in terms of injection rate, spray evolutions, and mean diameter and velocity of droplets in a compression ignition engine. In order to study the effect of split injection on the diesel fuel spray and atomization characteristic in a multi-hole nozzle, the test nozzle that has two-row small orifice with 0.2 mm interval was used. The time based fuel injection rate characteristics was analyzed from the pressure variation generated in a measuring tube. The spray characteristics of a multi-hole nozzle were visualized and measured by spray visualization system and phase Doppler particle analyzer (PDPA) system. It was revealed that the total injected fuel quantities of split injection are smaller than those of single injection condition. In case of injection rate characteristics, the split injection is a little lower than single injection and the peak value of second injection rate is lower than single injection. The spray velocity of split injection is also lower because of short energizing duration and small injection mass. It can not observe the improvement of droplet atomization due to the split injection, however, it enhances the droplet distributions at the early stage of fuel injection.
Injection rate, injection quantity and injection timing of fuel are controlled precisely by electric control in CRDI system. Particularly, injection rate being influenced with injection pressure affects to spray characteristics and fuel-air ratio, so it is a very important factor in diesel combustion. In this study, injection rates in accordance with injection pressure at a constant ambient pressure were measured with Zeuch's method. Under the same condition, non-evaporating spray images were taken with a high speed camera and analyzed carefully with Adobe Photoshop CS3. Macroscopic spray characteristics and breakup processes in the spray could be found from the examined and analyzed data. Injection start time and injection period were practically affected with injection pressure. Also, initial injection rate, spray penetration, spray angle and breakup of high density droplets region in the spray were affected with injection pressure. The results and techniques of spray visualization and injection rate measurement in this study would be practically effective to study a high pressure diesel spray for common rail direct injection system.
This paper describes the modeling of CNG direct injection using gaseous sphere injection model. Simulation of CNG direct injection does not need break up and evaporation model compared to that of liquid fuel injection. And very fine mesh is needed near the injector nozzle to resolve the inflow boundary. Therefore it takes long computation time for gaseous fuel injection simulation. However, simulation of CNG direct injection could be performed with the coarse mesh using gaseous sphere injection model. This model was integrated in KIVA-3V code and RNG $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model needs to be modified because this model tends to over-predict gas jet diffusion. Furthermore, we preformed experiments of gaseous fuel injection using PLIF (planar laser induced fluorescence)method. Gaseous fuel injection model was validated against experiment data. The simulation results agreed well with the experiment results. Therefore gaseous sphere injection model has the reliability about gaseous fuel direct injection. And this model was predicted well a general tendency of gaseous fuel injection.
It was known that high pressure injection is an effective method to enhance thermal efficiency and decrease exhaust emissions in diesel engines. If injection pressure becomes ultra high, it is predicted that there may be a suitable injection pressure which the enhancement rate of spray characteristics is moderate. Also, there may be a limit injection pressure which spray characteristics is reversed and get worse. But these are unknown. To investigate a suitable injection pressure and a limit injection pressure, ultra high pressure injection equipment(UHPIE), which can realize the injection pressure of 3,200bar, was developed. UHPIE is a basic apparatus of single shot injection, and ultra high pressure was achieved by second stage rapid compression in short time. From the evaluation of UHPIE, a injection curve like a conventional diesel engine(jerk type) was realized. Also, it was proved that repetition of experiment was excellent. Therefore it was found that there was no problem to perform the study on the ultra high pressure injection with UHPIE. Consequently, the foundation of the study on ultra high pressure injection could be established.
