We have measured the Hall effect in infinite-layer Sr／sub 0.9／La／sub 0.1／$CuO_2$ thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy. We do not observe $T^{2}$ dependence of the cotangent of Hall angle, which is commonly observed in other cuprate High-Tc superconductors. Therefore, this result cannot be interpreted within two different scattering mechanism based on charge-spin separation theory. The mixed-state Hall effect shows no sign anomaly, implying that tile hydrodynamic contribution of vortex core is negligibly small.

At the eukaryotic replication fork, discontinuous synthesis of lagging strand DNA gives rise to Okazaki fragments carrying ribonucleotides derived from the primer RNA at their 5' ends. Efficient removal of these ribonucleotides is vital for maintaining genome integrity. In this report we show that the endonucleases Dna2 and Fen1 act sequentially to facilitate the complete removal of the primer RNA.(omitted)

Metastability in the native form of proteins has been recognized as a mechanism of biological regulation. The strained native structure of serpins (serine proteinase inhibitors) is a typical example. The native strain of serpins is considered to be crucial to their physiological functions, such as plasma proteinase inhibition, hormone delivery, Alzheimer filament assembly, and extracellular matrix remodeling.(omitted)

This paper examines the operational limitations of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM) as a regional financial safety net in East Asia and presents a new regional financial arrangement. To overcome the drawbacks of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization which has never been activated so far, this study proposes that ASEAN+3 establish a new lending facility, so-called a Reserve Fund Facility, and create a regional common reserves asset. The proposed Reserve Fund Facility framework guarantees lending automaticity of the liquidity facility, based on upfront funding instead of pledge funding. Establishing the Reserve Fund Facility could find a way of making up for weakness of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization and responding to the regional needs for effective regional financial arrangement. The full-fledged Reserve Fund Facility will ultimately contribute to the future development of East Asia's monetary and financial cooperation beyond the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization.

For historical and political reasons, South Korea (hereafter Korea), Japan and China have not achieved much progress in regional energy cooperation for decades. However, the rising importance of Northeast Asia (NEA) in the world energy sphere, especially in the global oil market, is providing an opportunity to create an integrated oil market in the region. This study suggests the Northeast Asian Energy Corridor (NEAEC) Initiative as an effective conduit for raising the possibility of the Northeast Asian oil hub project. The NEAEC Initiative combines the model of Europe's Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) with Singapore's AsiaClear as a form of financial collaboration. The study suggests that an electronically integrated Over-the-Counter (OTC) market clearing mechanism accompanied by other key financial instruments among Korea, Japan and China can be an effective means for promoting financial collaboration in the region.

The downlink data rates of the space-born payloads such as high-resolution optical cameras, synthetic aperture radars (SAR) and hyper-spectral sensors are being rapidly increased. For example, the image transmission rates of KOMPSAT-2 MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) is 320Mbps even if on-board image compression scheme is used.[1] In the near future, the data rates are expected to be a level 500${\sim}$600Mbps because the required resolution will be higher and the swath width will be increased. This paper describes many techniques they enable 500Mbps data receiving and archiving system.
