전단-신선 가공된 6063 알루미늄 합금의 변형거동 (Deformation Behavior of 6063 Al Alloy Deformed by Shear-Drawing Method)

  • This work investigated the microstructure and mechanical properties of 6063 Al alloy fabricated by shear-drawing (SD) technique where shear and drawing strains were combined together within a predetermined die. To find the optimum condition for sound deformation, three different dies having different inner angle and diameter of the exit channel were prepared. After single deformation of the present sample, the sound deformation took place without an abrupt failure of the sample if the inner angle would be greater than $135^{\circ}$ in this study, when the channel diameter of the SD die was reduced from 10 to 9 mm. Microstructural observation showed that the inner angle of $135^{\circ}$ was found to be more effective than that of $150^{\circ}$ in terms of the alignment of each grain to the shear direction imposed by SD method. In addition, the yield strength of the SD-deformed sample was twice higher than that of the initial counterpart while loosing ductility in tension.

One-dimensional modeling of flat sheet casting or rectangular Fiber spinning process and the effect of normal stresses

  • This study presents 1-dimensional simple model for sheet casting or rectangular fiber spinning process. In order to achieve this goal, we introduce the concept of force flux balance at the die exit, which assigns for the extensional flow outside the die the initial condition containing the information of shear flow history inside the die. With the Leonov constitutive equation that predicts non-vanishing second normal stress difference in shear flow, we are able to describe the anisotropic swelling behavior of the extrudate at least qualitatively. In other words, the negative value of the second normal stress difference causes thickness swelling much higher than width of extrudate. This result implies the importance of choosing the rheological model in the analysis of polymer processing operations, since the constitutive equation with the vanishing second normal stress difference is shown to exhibit the characteristic of isotropic swelling, that is, the thickness swell ratio always equal to the ratio in width direction.

ECAP한 Al 판재의 판재성형성 (Formability of ECAPed Al Alloy Sheet)

  • Ultra-fine grained and high hardened Al sheet was obtained by Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP). During this process the microstructure, the hardness and the texture of AA 1050 Al alloy sheet are changed by a severe shear deformation. The plastic strain ratio after the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment condition has been investigated in this study. It was found that the average r-value of the ECAPed and subsequent heat-treated specimen was 1.7 times higher than those of the initial Al sheet. This could be attributed to the various texture formations through the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment of AA 1050 Aluminum alloy sheet.

  • Undrained triaxial tests were peformed for a weathered soil, which includes local measurement using LVDT The behavior from small In large strain conditions could be evaluated consistently through a triaxial test, The stress-strain relationship of undisturbed samples were compared with the disturbed and the shear moduli in the small strain level had the almost same values. Especially the shear moduli were mostly affected by the initial condition of water contents. An anisotropic hardening model based on the total stress concept could predict the stress-strain relationship accurately, which makes it possible to analyze the geotechnical problem reasonably for the weathered soil.

Levy-type solution for analysis of a magneto-electro-elastic panel

  • This paper studies electro-magneto-mechanical bending studying of the cylindrical panels based on shear deformation theory. The cylindrical panel is constrained with two simply-supported edges at longitudinal direction and two clamped boundary conditions at circumferential direction. The governing equations are derived based on the principle of virtual work in cylindrical coordinate system. Levy-type solution of the governing equations is derived to reduce two dimensional PDEs to a 2D ODEs. The reduced ordinary differential equation is solved using the Eigen-value Eigen-vector method for the clamped-clamped boundary condition. The electro-magneto-mechanical bending results are obtained to show that every displacement, rotation and electromagnetic potentials how change with changes of initial electromagnetic potentials and mechanical loads along longitudinal and circumferential directions.

  • 수심에 대하여 평균을 취한 2차원 연속방정식 및 운동방정식에 Galerkin형 유한요소법이 적용되어 개수로 단면급확대부의 순환현상을 해석하였다. 모형의 타당성실험이행하여진 단순한 수로에서의 파동실험결과, 본 모형이 L2오차 0.5% 이내에서 만족스럽게 수렴학 있으며, 댐파괴시 수면곡선해석에서도 수치해와 정확도가 거의 일치하는매우 양호한 결과가 도출되어 모형의 타당성 및 유용성이 제시된다. 순환흐름 해석시 초기조건으로 주수로부의 흐름을 정의하는 새로운 조건이 도입되어 이용되었고, 측벽경계조건으로는 Neumann 조건 이외에 slip 조건을 취하여 실험한 결과 slip 조건이 no-slip 조건일 때의 강한 경계층을 배제하는 타당한 측별경계조건으로 판단된다. 본 모형을 개수로단면급확대부에 적용한 결과 하상마찰 및 유효전단에 기인된 난류의 영향은 크지 않은 반면 이송가속도는 순환흐름에 지대한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

초기조건의 변형에 따른 축대칭 충돌분사류의 난류특성에 대한 연구 (Experimental Study on Turbulent Characteristics of Axisymmetric Impinging Jet with a Modified Initial Condition)

  • The turbulent flow characteristics of impinging jet have been investigated by the hot wire anemometry with a movable impinging wall. Turbulences were generated by the meshed jet as well as the typical round jet and their characteristics were compared, of mean velocity profiles, turbulent intensities. Reynolds stresses, similarities and their centerline flow behaviors. The meshed jet tends to make shear layer wider than the normal one in the initial region and the velocity profiles of the normal jet is rather contractive being compared with those of the meshed one near the wall. The effect of meshed exit appears only within 4D at the begining of jets and the cascading process of the meshed one marches more rapidly than that of the normal jet. The wall effects appear in the downstream of about 0.85 H to the impinging wall for every case of wall positions in both nozzles.

  • 일반적으로 흙의 파괴는 전단 변형이 집중되는 영역인 전단면의 형성과 발달에 의해 발생한다. 정규압밀 점성토의 파괴거동을 확인하기 위해 시료 내부의 변형거동 분포에 대해 평가가 필요하다. 본 연구에선 재성형된 카올리나이트 시료에 대해 평면변형률 시험을 수행하였으며, 전단 과정에서 일정 변형률 간격에서 디지털 이미지 해석을 수행하였다. 시험 결과로 도출된 응력-변형률 결과를 통해 4개의 단계를 결정하여 시료의 변형거동과 전단면 특성을 평가하였다.

Evaluation of the Aging Life of the Rubber Pad in Power Window Switch

  • To evaluate the aging of a rubber pad in power window switch which is the part of a vehicle, the accelerated thermal aging test of rubber pad material is performed. Finite element analysis was performed using the nonlinear material constants of the rubber pad to calculate the operating force, and the Arrhenius relationship was derived from the aging temperature and time. The aging test was performed at 150, 180, 210, or 240 ℃ for 1 to 60 days. When the operating force of the rubber pad is changed by 10% from the initial value, the service life is expected to be 113 years, which is much longer than the life of the vehicle. This indicates that the aging life of the rubber pad is sufficiently safe and the operating force of the rubber pad during the life of the vehicle (20 years) was decreased by approximately 8.4%. By examining the correlation between the shear elastic modulus and operating force calculated from finite element analysis under each aging test condition, the changes in the operating force of the rubber pad and the shear elastic modulus showed good linear relationship. The aging life could be predicted by the change in shear elastic modulus and a process for predicting the aging life of automotive power window switch rubber pad parts is described herein.
