디스크 드라이브의 주기적 외란 고속 보상 제어 (Fast Compensator of Periodic Disturbance in Disk Drives)

  • The control objective in hard disk drives is to move head as fast as possible to target track and position the head over the center of target track in the presence of external disturbances. The external shock or disk clamping error in manufacturing process causes the disk center to deviate from the disk rotation center. The disk shift acts on the control system as disturbance and degrades severely the performance of disk drives. In this paper, we present a new controller that compensates for the periodic disturbances very fast. The disturbance compensator is arranged in parallel with the state feedback controller. To avoid the interference with the state feedback controller, the compensator creates compensation signal without the feedback of system output until steady state. The pulse type controller is included additionally for improving the transient performance due to initial state. Finally, in order to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed compensator. we present some experimental results using a commercially available disk drive.

  • A moving-magnet type pickup actuator has an assembly error. That is, the actuating Part of an actuator is shifted from initial position after we assemble it into yoke. This Is the result of an effect of magnetic force between magnet and yoke. We performed magnetic-analysis using FEA. As a result of simulation, we improved the assembling efficiency for moving-magnet type actuator.

탄소나노튜브 기반의 나노-가속도계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nano-Accelerometer based on Carbon Nanotube)

  • 나노튜브를 기반으로 한 용량성 나노 가속도계에 대한 특성을 고전적인 분자동역학 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 연구하였다 외부에서 공급된 힘을 이용하여 나노튜브의 위치를 제어할 수 있었고, 해당하는 위치에 의한 커패시턴스의 변화를 통하여 피드백 센싱을 할 수 있었다. 에너지 소모 측면을 고려하면, 나노 가속도계의 진동 특성은 초기 변위와는 무관하였으며, 이러한 측정 시스템은 진동하는 커패시턴스를 추적하여 가속도를 결정하고, 이것은 또한 공급된 힘과 용량성 힘, 반데르발스 힘, 결합력, 반발력과 같은 힘들이 균형을 이루는 위치를 결정할 수 있다.

변조 차수 변경을 통한 하이브리드 자동 재전송 기법 (A Hybrid ARQ Scheme with Changing the Modulation Order)

  • When using a higher-order modulation scheme, there are variations in bit-reliability depending on the bit position in a modulation symbol. Variations of bit-reliability in the codeword block lower the decoding performance. Also, the decoding performance increases as the sum of the bit-reliabilities in the codeword block increases. This paper presents a novel hybrid automatic repeat request scheme that increases the sum of the reliabilities of the transmitted bits by lowering the modulation order, and decreases the variations of bit-reliability in the codeword block by preferentially retransmitting bits with low reliability. The proposed scheme outperforms the constellation rearrangement scheme. Furthermore, the proposed scheme also provides a good solution in cases where the size of the retransmission block is smaller than the size of the initial transmission block.

  • In this paper, a fuel minimizing closed loop explicit inertial guidance algorithm for the orbit injection of a rocket is developed. In this formulation, the fuel burning rate and magnitude of thrust are assumed constant, and the motion of a rocket is assumed to be subject to the average inverse-square gravity, but with negligible atmospheric effects. The optimum thrust angle for obtaining the given velocity vector in the shortest time with minimizing fuel consumption is first determined, and then the additive thrust angle for targeting the final position vectors is determined by using Pontryagin's Maximum Principle. To establish the real time processing, many algorithms of the onboard guidance software are simplified. Simulations for the explicit guidance algorithm, for the 2nd-stage flight of the N-1 rocket, are carried out. The results show that the guidance algorithm works well in the presence of the maximum .+-.10 % initial velocity and altitude error. The effects of the guidance cycle time is also examined.

극한 무인 로봇 차량을 위한 MEMS GPS/INS 항법 시스템 (MEMS GPS/INS Navigation System for an Unmanned Ground Vehicle Operated in Severe Environment)

  • An unmanned ground vehicle can perform its mission automatically without human control in unknown environment. To move up to a destination in various surrounding situation, navigational information is indispensible. In order to be adopted for an unmanned vehicle, the navigation box is small, light weight and low power consumption. This paper suggests navigation system using a low grade MEMS IMU for supplying position, velocity, and attitude of an unmanned ground vehicle. This system consists of low cost and light weight MEMS sensors and a GPS receiver to meet unmanned vehicle requirements. The sensors are basically integrated by loosely coupled method using Kalman filter and internal algorithms are divided into initial alignment, sensor error compensation, and complex navigation algorithm. The performance of the designed navigation system has been analyzed by real time field test and compared to commercial tactical grade GPS/INS system.

  • 가동자석형 픽업 구동기를 조립하는 경우 조립 전후에 오차가 발생하게 된다. 즉, 렌즈홀더 와 스프링홀더 A'SSY 를 요크에 조립하기 전자 후에 렌즈홀더가 shift 된 양을 살펴보면 상당한 편차가 있음을 볼 수 있다. 이것은 자석 중심과 요크 중심이 어긋날 경우 자석과 요크 사이에 발생하는 자기력의 영향으로 발생하는 것으로, 자기해석을 수행한 결과 자석과 요크의 크기에 따라 자기력의 영향이 달라짐을 확인할 수 있었고, 개발모델에 적용하여 조립성능이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

Image-Based Visual Servoing Control of a SCARA Robot

  • In this paper, we present a new approach to visual feedback control using image-based visual servoing with stereo vision. In order to control the position and orientation of a robot with respect to an object, a new technique is proposed using binocular stereo vision. The stereo vision enables us to calculate an exact image Jacobian not only around a desired location but also at other locations. The suggested technique can guide a robot manipulator to the desired location without providing a priori knowledge such as the relative distance to the desired location or the model of an object even when the initial positioning error is large. This paper describes a model of stereo vision and how to generate feedback commands. The performance of the proposed visual servoing system is illustrated by experimental results and compared with conventional control methods for an assembly robot.

  • The TCAD(Technology Computer Aided Design) software tool is a popular name to be able to simulate the semiconductor process and device circuit. We have developed a two-dimensional TCAD software tool included an editor, parser, each process unit, and 2D, 3D graphic routine that is Integrated Environment. The initial grid for numerical analysis is automatically generated with the geometric series that use the user default(given) line and position separated with grid interval and the nodes corresponding to each mesh point stoic the all the possible attribute. Also, we made a data structure called PIF for input or output. Methods of ion implantation in this paper arc Monte Carlo, Gaussian Pearson and Dual-Pearson. Analytical model such as Gaussian, Pearson and Dual-Pearson were considered the multilayer structure and two-dimensional tilted implantation. We simuttaneously calculated the continuity equation of impurity and point defect in diffusion simulation. Oxidation process was simulated by analytical ERFC(Complementary Error Function) model for local oxidation.

크레인의 진동 저감을 위한 제어기 개발용 시뮬레이터 (A simulator for development of controller for reducing vibration in crane)

  • In this paper, a simulator is designed along with S/W package for crane controllers. Due to trolley's acceleration or deceleration, cranes inherently cause swing motion of the objects in transporting heavy objects. This swing not only deteriorates the crane handling safety but also increases the processing time. To overcome these drawbacks, the fuzzy rule-based simulator is developed with inhibitory swing at final action. The computer simulation shows that the swing at initial and final positions is removed fast with small position error. The proposed simulator can be used for handling object stablely and the study of effectiveness in unmanned operation of cranes.
