초기 운전점 선정을 통한 배전계통 최적 재구성에 관한 연구 (A study of Optimal Reconfiguration in Distribution Power System using Initial Operating Point)

  • This paper presents a problem that reconfigure distribution power system using branch exchange method. Optimal reconfiguration problem calculates line loss, voltage condition about system states of all situations that become different according to line On/off status, and search for optimum composition of these. However, result is difficult to be calculated fast. Because radiated operation condition of system is satisfied using many connection and sectionalize switches in the distribution power system. Therefore, in this paper, optimization method for reducing system total loss and satisfying operating condition of radial and constraints condition of voltage is proposed using the fastest branch exchange. And optimal solution at branch exchange algorithm can be wrong estimated to local optimal solution according to initial operating state. Considering this particular, an initial operating point algorithm is added and this paper showed that optimal solution arrives at global optimal solution.

  • A rigorous dynamic simulation was performed in binary gas mixture H$_{2}$/CO (70:30 vol.%) to determinate start-up operating conditions of PSA(Pressure Swing Adsorption) processes. The rigorous dynamic model for the PSA process contains an Ergun equation for expressing the pressure drop in a bed, and valve equations to compute the boundary pressure change of the bed. As the result of the continuous dynamic simulation of 100 operating cyles in various initial conditions, the unsteady-state appeared in the early period and the cyclic steady-state came out about 20th cycle in feed condition and vaccum condition, and 30th cycle in pure H$_{2}$ condition. As time goes by valve equations made change the pressure at each end of the bed in ressurization, countercurrunt-depressurization and pressure equalization steps. The H$_{2}$ purity and the recovery is 99.99% and 86.73% respectively, which is slightly higher than the experimental data. Main contributiion of this study includes supplying fundamental technologies of handling combined variables PSA processes by developing rigorous models.

  • Lab-scale experiments have been carried out to investigate ammonia stripping with a modified spray tower for removing ammonia nitrogen from swine wastewater. The operating conditions such as initial pH, temperature, air flow, hole size of distributor determining the diameter of water drops, and influent solids concentration were closely examined focusing on removal efficiency of ammonia. As a result of the experiment, in order to achieve high rate of ammonia removal by the air stripping system, the air flow rate must be supplied at high rate with sufficiently high initial pH, temperature. The optimum operating condition to meet the residual ammonia concentration of 300 mg/L was the initial pH of 11.0 at $35^{\circ}C$ with the air flow rate of 20 L/min. It also showed that the smaller hole size is, the higher removal rate of ammonia is expected. However, when used a small sized distributor (2 mm), the flooding problem at the upper column occurred due to clogging of the hole. With regard to the influent solids concentration, it was showed that the lower concentration of solids, the higher removal rate of ammonia. The removal of particulate materials in influent led to improve the removal efficiency of ammonia, rather than to control the operating condition including initial pH, temperature, and air flow. The empirical correlation between KLa and operating parameters would be driven as, $K_{La}=(0.0003T-0.0047){\cdot}G^{0.3926}{\cdot}L^{-0.5169}{\cdot}C^{-0. 1849}$. The calculated $K_{La}$ from proposed formula can be used effectively to estimate the optimum reaction time and to calculate the volume of modified spray tower system.

  • This paper presents an approach that provides an equivalent initial operating condition of UPFC in load-flow study for stability analysis. The UPFC model for load-flow implemented by IPLAN in PSS/E is represented by an equivalent load injection. In doing so, the transmission line to which UPFC is connected is disconnected and the function of UPFC is represented by the equivalent load variation. This operating condition may not be adequate as an initial condition for subsequent dynamic simulation. The proposed approach provides a way of equivalencing UPFC load injection without line disconnection. The method was applied to a realistic power system for validity.

  • A multi-zone model was used to predict the operating range of homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine, the boundaries of the operating range were determined by knock (presented by ring intensity), misfire (presented by sensitivity of indicated mean effective pressure to the initial temperature). A HCCI engine fueled with Di-Methyl Ether (DME) was simulated under different initial temperature and equivalence ratios, and the operating range was well produced by the model. Furthermore, the model was applied to develop the operating range for thermal stratification in the preceding condition of initial temperature and equivalence ratios. The computations were conducted using Senkin application of the CHEMKINII kinetics rate code.

평면식 건조기의 적정작업조건 설정에 관한 연구 (Study on The Qptimization of Operating Conditions of batch-type Grain Dryer)

  • Experimental work of batch-type dryer was conducted to develop its optimurm operating conditions by analyzing the major factors which affect the drying performance. A laboratory batch-type dryer was constructed and tested for various levels of heated-air rates, and depths of grain deposit. Tong-il rice variety having the initial moisture content of approximaely 23 per cent in wet basis was used for the experiment. The criteria selected for establishing the optimum operating condition were the drying performance rate, the thermal efficiency, and the operational cost of the dryer. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The performance rate of dryer for a specific operating condition was defined as total amount of material dried per hour when the moisture content of grains in the upperlayer reaches to 16 per cent in wet basis. The optimum operating conditions as viewed in the rate of drying performance could be justified by functional realtionship between the depth of grain deposit and air flow rate. In other words, there was a definite depth of grain deposit for a given air-rate which make the dryer performance maximum. The optimum grain depth for the batch-type dryer with 3.3㎡ loading area and with the attached axial fan was about 35cm. 2. The thermal efficiency for the dryer was evaluated by the ratio of the latent heat required to evaporate the grain moisture to the heat input required to raise the ambient air-temperature to 40 degree centigrade. The optimum operating condition as viewed in term of thermal efficiency analyzed was that grater depth and lower air flow-rate may be desirable. This condition is contracted with the optimum condition as viewed by the dryer performance rate. 3. The annual operating cost of batch-type dryer was analyzed for different annual hour of use and for different operation condition. The optimum condition as viewed in terms of operating cost was almost identical to one as viewed in terms of dryer performance rate. Therefore, the most economical use of batch-type dryer for the same annual operating hours can be obtained when the dryer operated in the condition of maximum dryer performance rate. Increasing the annual operating hour may be desirable to cut down the dryer operation cost, since the annual hour of dryer use is much sensitive to the operating cost than any peractical conditions of dryer operation. 4. The most desirable operational condition as justified by combining all the criteria, dryer performance rate, thermal efficiency and annual operating cost, could be concluded to operate the dryer in the condition of maximum performance rate. The condition in general is identical to the lowest operation cost for a given annual operating hour.

고압스월분무 액막유동의 초기 발달과정에 대한 연구 (The Initial Film Flow Development of the High-Pressure Swirl Spray)

  • The initial film flow development of the high-pressure swirl spray was investigated at different injector operating conditions to analyze film flow development and to provide the input data for the modeling works. This result can be also useful to verify the previously simulated results. The initial flow conditions such as liquid film thickness, flow angle and flow divergence are obtained by visualizing the inside and near the nozzle flow with a microscopic imaging system. The visualized images are quantified using an image processing tool. From the information of liquid film thickness and flow angle, the initial axial and tangential velocity and the swirl number of the swirl spray are successfully determined at various operating conditions. The experimental results showed that the initial liquid film thickness, flow angle and flow divergence are remained constant when the injection pressure is increased. However, initial film conditions are severely changed when the fuel temperature is increased. The swirl number remained constant when the injection pressure is increased while it showed increased value at high fuel temperature condition.

Given conditions include both environmental condition and operating condition. Environmental condition means common natural environment such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and working condition means artificial environment such as voltage, current load, install place, hours of use, which occurs during using the product. In the field of railway vehicles, although components of railway vehicles with reliability are the trend of mandatory as persisting period of railway vehicles is extended, using components of railway vehicles is insufficient for the practical reliability assessment. but the meaning of the first railway operating agnecy to acquire the parts in the field, the data suggest the reliability of products if you can and can show the reliability of modular units and modular units can provide the reliability of if you can present reliability of the entire system is thought to be here. In this study, lifespan of micro-switch for master controller is analyzed and prediction is performed based on its field data considering the special circumstances of railway vehicles operating agency, such as a large number of trains operates on the same line.

Optimization of the Performance of Microbial Fuel Cells Containing Alkalophilic Bacillus sp.

  • A systematic study of microbial fuel cells comprised of alkalophilic Bacillus sp. B-31 has been carried out under various operating conditions. A significant amount of electricity was generated when redox mediators were used. Among the phenothiazine-type redox dyes tested, azure A was found to be the most effective both in maintaining a high cell voltage and for the long-term operation. The maximum efficiency was and for the long-term operation. The maximum efficiency was obtained at ca. $50^{\circ}C$ giving an open circuit voltage of 0.7V. A small change in temperature did not significantly affect the cell performance, but a rapid decrease in performance was observed below $20^{\circ}C$ and above $70^{\circ}C$. It was noticeable that fuel cell efficiency and discharge pattern depended strongly on the carbon source used in the initial culture medium. Regardless of the initial carbon sources, only glucose and trehalose were utilized as substrates. Galactose, however, was not substantially utilized except when galactose was used in the initial medium. Glucose, in particular, showed $87\%$ coulombic efficiency, which was the highest value ever reported, when Bacillus sp. was cultured in a maltose-containing medium. This study demonstrates that highly efficient microbial fuel cells can be constructed with alkalophilic microorganisms by fine-tuning the operating conditions and by carefully selecting carbon sources in the initial culture medium.
