Objective: A study was made investigate factors affecting body surface temperature changes after weaning in sows, whether these can be used to aid detection of natural estrus and how they relate to subsequent reproductive performance. Methods: A total of 132 sows were selected during summer from a breeding farm, with mean parity of 3.6±2.3 and 28.5±0.9 days lactation length. Four daily measurements (6:00, 8:00, 16:00, and 18:00) of vulva (VST), udder (UST), ear base and central back skin temperatures for individual sows were taken by an infrared thermometer, continuing up to 8 days post weaning. Results: The VST obtained from sows showing estrus at 4 days post-weaning (4DPW), 5DPW, and 6DPW showed a peak at the fourth day post-weaning, but then started to decrease. The VST of sows not detected in standing heat (NDPW) remained at a lower level during the experiment, but UST was increased soon after weaning. The VST-UST temperature differences during daytime of sows that were showing behavioural standing heat on 4DPW, 5DPW, 6DPW, and 7DPW were 0.46℃±0.123℃, 0.71℃±0.124℃, 0.66℃ ±0.171℃, and 0.58℃±0.223℃, respectively. The NDPW sows had the highest UST observed, but also the lowest VST so that a more negative value of temperature difference (-0.31℃) was seen during first few days post-weaning. A total of 119 sows were observed to show standing heat and were bred. The later the estrus, the smaller the litter size (p = 0.005). Conclusion: Sows which did not show behavior indicative of stable standing heat after weaning had a VST which remained at a lower level, but the UST increased soon after weaning. Therefore, for sow heat detection under field conditions, the changes of VST and UST and difference between the two should be considered together to increase the accuracy of detection.

The intensity and the number of days of high temperature occurrence are also high and record heat occurred. In addition, the global warming phenomenon is intensifying globally, and especially in South Korea, the urban heat island phenomenon is also occurring due to rapid urbanization due to rapid industrial development. As the temperature of the city rises, it causes problems such as the comfort of the residential living and the cooling load. In this study, the cool roof performance is evaluated according to the roof color to reduce these problems. Unlike previous studies, UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) thermal infrared camera was used to obtain the surface temperature (white, grey, green, blue, brown, black) according to the rooftop color by remote sensing technique. As a result, the surface temperature of white color was $11{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ lower than other colors. Also air conditioning temperature of white color was $1.5{\sim}4.4^{\circ}C$ lower than other colors and the digital thermometer of white color was about $1.5{\sim}3.5^{\circ}C$ lower than other colors. It was confirmed that the white cool roof performance is the best, and the UAV and the thermal infrared camera can confirm the cool roof performa.
We have studied the IR properties of molecular clouds in the region of the supershell GS234-02 using IRAS and COBE data. The mean values of dust color temperature and optical depth at $240{\mu}m$ are derived to be $15.4\pm1.5K\; and\;9.0\pm5.7\times10^{-4}$, respectively, which agree well with those determined by Sodroski et al.(1994) for the outer Galaxy. Mean IRAS colors, $R_{12}/100= 0.074,\; R_{25}/100= 0.052,\; R_{60/100}= 0.219$, indicate that the abundance of PAHs is enhanced but other particles are nearly the same as those of the solar neighborhood. We found the anticorrelation between $R_{100/140}\;and\;R_{140/240}$. It cannot be explained by the thermal emission of traditional big grains. The anticorrelation implies that, at high ISRF, $T_{100/140}$ underestimates the equilibrium temperature, while $T_{140/240}$ overestimates it and, at low ISRF, vice versa. Therefore we propose to use the intensity ratio, $R_{100/240}$ as a dust thermometer.

NiCr thin film was deposited by DC magnetron sputtering on $A;_2O_3$/Si substrate with NiCr (80:20) alloy target. NiCr thin films were annealed at $300^{\circ}C,\;400^{\circ}C,\;500^{\circ}C,\;600^{\circ}C,\;and\;700^{\circ}C$ for 6 hr in $H_2$ after annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ for 6hr in air atmosphere, respectively. To analyze NiCr thin film properties, the changes of its micro structure were Investigated through field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to analyze a surface of NiCr thin film. Resistance of NiCr thin film was measured by 4-point probe technique. The generated heats were measured by infrared thermometer through the application of DC voltage (5 V/l2 V). NiCr thin film treated by gradational double annealing process had uniform and small grains. Maximum temperature generated heat by NiCr micro heater was $173^{\circ}C$. We expect that our results will be a useful reference in the realization of NiCr micro heater.

In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research of dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring is fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity The farce, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA actuator is analyzed.

Silicon oxynitride (SiON) was deposited for gas barrier film on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) using octamethylycyclodisiloxane (Si4O4C8H24, OMCTS) precursor by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) at low temperature. The ion flux and substrate temperature were measured by oscilloscope and thermometer. The chemical bonding structure and barrier property of films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), respectively. The deposition rate of films increases with RF bias and nitrogen dilution due to increase of dissociated precursor and nitrogen ion incident to the substrate. In addition, we confirmed that the increase of nitrogen dilution and RF bias reduced WVTR of films. Because, on the basis of FT-IR analysis, the increase of the nitrogen gas flow rate and RF bias caused the increase of the C=N stretching vibration resulting in the decrease of macro and nano defects.

The object of the present study is to develop a high performance evaporator for automotive air conditioner. The experiment has been conducted on evaporative heat transfer coefficient inside a plate type heat exchanger with a sharp 180-degree turn flow. The test plates have different formed surface, cross-ribbed channel and elliptical-ribbed channel. Also experimental study has been performed to determine optimal design in elliptical-ribbed plate heat exchanger with different turn clearance. In addition to the above experiments, refrigerant behavior and surface temperature distribution in the plate heat exchanger were observed using color thermoviewer(infrared thermometer). In this experiment, working fluid was used R-12 and test conditions were as follows : (1) saturation pressure of $2.116kg/cm^2$, (2) mass fluxes of 40 to $70kg/m^2s$, (3) heat fluxes of 4,500 to $7,300W/m^2$, (4) inlet quality of 0.1 to 0.7. The results indicated that the evaporative heat transfer coefficient of an elliptical-ribbed plate heat exchanger was higher than that of cross-ribbed plate heat exchanger. Also optimal turn clearance in an elliptical-ribbed plate heat exchanger was determined.

A new material tester has been developed to measure mechanical properties of thin film specimens at high temperature. It is useful for observing oxide film growth or local deformation on the surface, and for measuring creep strength. Main characteristics of the tester is as follows; First, high temperature is achieved by Joule heating generated by electricity passing through the specimen, which does not need to enclose the specimen by a furnace or a heating chamber. The exposed specimen enables one to observe the surface during the test. Because the overall size of the test rig is compact, the whole test rig can be placed in a chamber for environmental controlled tests. The loading device is from a level scales. Not only static load with fixed counter weight, but also variable load by moving counter weight controlled remotely can be applied for an ordinary creep test and creep-fatigue test, respectively. The detail of the construction, operation principle, and the specification are described. And also, an example of test result obtained using the creep tester is presented.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of myofascial decompressiontherapy using moving suction on body temperature, pain, neck disability index, and cervical rotation for young adult with nonspecific neck pain. Design: Two-group pretest-posttest design. Methods: The subjects were randomly assigned 22 patients with chronic cervical pain who met the study conditions to the experimental group (n=11) and the control group (n=11). In the experimental group, the myofascial decompressiontherapy (MDT) was performed for 10 minutes using moving suction withnegative 15 mmHg pressure from the insertion to the origin of the upper trapezius muscle, while the control group without negative pressure. In order to investigate the effects of the intervention, an infrared thermometer, a visual analogue scale, neck disability index, and goniometer were used. Results: As a result of comparing the pre- and post- changes in each group according to the intervention, skin temperature, pain, neck disability index, and cervical rotation in both the experimental and control groups were significantly improved (p<0.05). Comparison of pre- and post- changes between the experimental and control groups showed significant differences for pain and cervical rotation (p<0.05), but no significant difference was found in the body temperature and neck disability index. Conclusions: Based on the results, MDT using moving suction was effective in reducing pain and increasing of cervical rotation for young adult with nonspecific neck pain.
