신경회로망을 이용한 표적의 자동인식 기법 (Automatic target-recognition technique using a neural network)

  • This paper presents a real-time algorithm for an infrared seeker to find the real target automatically against various background noises without changing the reticle configuration. The modeling technique of infrared sources and analysis results of the various source types based on the FFT algorithm are included. Futhermore, a neural network is used to recognize the source type using the results of FFT analysis. The evaluation of target recognition for cases which can happen in real situation is also treated.

Water-Methanol and Water-Acetonitrile Mixture Analysis using NIR Spectral Data and Iterative Target Transform Factor Analysis

  • Water-methanol and water-acetonitrile mixtures are frequently used as HPLC solvent system and strong hydrogen bonding is well-known. But a detailed aspect of water-methanol and/or water-acetonitrile mixtures have not been shown with direct spectral evidence. Recently, near infrared spectroscopy and chemometric data refinery have been successfully combined in many applications. On the basis of factor analytical methods, the spectral features of water-methanol and water-acetonitrile mixtures were studied to reveal the detail of mixtures. Water-methanol and water-acetonitrile mixtures were prepared with varying concentration of each constituent and near infrared spectral data were acquired in the range of 1100-2500nm with 2-nm interval. The data matrices were analysed with ITTFA(Iterative Target Transform Factor Analysis) algorithm implemented as MATLAB codes. As a result, the concentration profiles of water, methanol and water-methanol complex were resolved and the spectra of water-methanol complexes were calculated, which cannot be acquired with pure complexes. A similar result was obtained with NIR spectral data of water-acetonitrile mixtures. Moreover, pure spectra of hydrogen-bonding complexes of water-methanol and water-acetonitrile can be computed, while any other usual physical methods cannot isolated those complexes for acquiring pure component spectra.

  • Military surveillance systems with electro-optical sensors can be used to track a number of targets efficiently and reliably. In MTT (Multi-Target Tracking), joint events in which different tracks share the same measurements may occur. Measurement-to-track assignment are computationally challenging because of the number of operations increases exponentially with number of tracks and number of measurements. IHPDA (Integrated Highest Probability Data Association) based on a 2D-Assignment technique can find an optimal solution for measurement to track one-to-one assignments for complex environments. In this paper, LM-IHPDA (Linear Multi-Target IHPDA) which does not need to form all feasible joint events of association and thus the computational load is linear in the number of tracks and the number of measurements. Simulation studies illustrate the effectiveness of this approach in an infrared image environment.

  • 본 논문은 적외선 연속 영상에서 배경 추정 필터와 칼만 필터, 평균 이동 알고리즘을 사용하여 다중 소형 표적들의 소멸과 생성시에도 표적들의 위치를 추적하는 시스템을 제안한다. 배경 추정 영상파 원 영상과의 차 영상을 사용해서 정지 영상에서의 표적 후 정보를 구하고, 칼만 필터와 후보 표적의 분류를 이용하여 다중 표적을 추적 한다. 마지막으로 평균 이동 알고리즘을 사용하여 표적들의 세부 위치를 조정한다. 실험을 통하여 배경 추정 필터들의 성능을 비교 분석하였고, 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존의 추적 시스템과 비교하여 안정적으로 추적이 됨을 확인하였다.

3차원 양방향 필터를 이용한 소형 표적 검출 (Small Target Detection Using 3-dimensional Bilateral Filter)

  • 본 논문은 적외선 영상 시퀀스에서 2차원 양방향 필터 (bilateral filter)를 이용하여 표적의 공간적 정보를 추출하고, 시퀀스의 시간적 프로파일에서는 1차원 양방향 필터를 이용하여 표적의 시간적 정보를 추출하여 표적의 궤적을 검출하는 3차원 양방향 필터를 제안하였다. 평탄 배경 및 표적 영역, 에지 영역을 구별하기 위하여 2차원 영상에서는 공간적 분산값을 이용하며, 배경 프로파일 및 표적 프로파일, 에지 프로파일을 구별하기 위하여 화소의 시간적 프로파일에서는 시간적 분산값을 이용하였다. 이를 통하여 공간적으로는 표적이 없는 배경을 예측하고, 시간적으로는 표적이 없는 배경 프로파일을 생성한다. 최종적으로 공간적으로 예측된 배경 및 시간적으로 예측된 배경 프로파일을 이용하여 표적의 궤적을 추출한다. 기존 방법과 제안한 방법의 성능 비교를 위하여, ROC (receiver operating characteristics) 곡선을 실험에서 사용하였다. 실험결과에서 제안된 방법이 기존방법들보다 오경보율 (false alarm rate)이 낮고, 표적 및 배경에 대한 향상된 식별력을 가졌음을 확인하였다.

  • The problem addressed in this paper is the accurate tracting of a dynamic target using outputs from a forward - looking infrared(FLIR) sensor as measurements. The important variations are 1) the spread of the target intensity pattern in the FLIR image plane, 2) target motion characteristics, and 3) the rms value and both spartial and temporal correlation of the back - ground noise. Based on this insights. design modifications and on - line adaptation copabilities are incorporated to enable this type of filter track highly maneuverable targets such as air-to-air missiles, with spatially distributed and changing image intensity profiles, against, background clutter.

ARR-TSE 기반의 정지 표적 정밀 크기 추정기법 연구 (A Study on the Static Target Accurate Size Estimation Algorithm with ARR-TSE)

  • In this paper, The ARR-TSE (Automatic Range Restore - Triangulation based target Size Estimator) algorithm is presented for IIR (Imaging Infrared) seeker. The target size is important information for the IIR target tracking. The TSE (Triangulation based target Size Estimator) algorithm has suitable performance to estimate target size for static IIR target. but, the performance of the algorithm can be decreased by noise. In order to decrease influence of noise, we propose the ARR-TSE algorithm. The performance of proposed method is tested at target intercept scenario. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has the accurate target size estimating performance.

적외선 파장대에서의 물체의 겉보기온도 예측 (Prediction of the Apparent Temperature of an Object under the Infrared Waveband)

  • Target detection by the infrared imager depends on the apparent temperature difference between the target and the background, so it is essential to predict apparent temperature variations for this purpose. In this study, thermal analysis program Including conduction, convection and radiation is developed and applied to a representative geometry adequate for examining the apparent temperature characteristics. The results show that the longwave emissivity in association with the background temperature affects the apparent temperature strongly but does not affect the physical temperature. It is revealed that the background temperature plays a role of tuning the apparent temperature. As the longwave emissivity decreases, the apparent temperature decreases when the target is hotter than the background, whereas it increases in the reversed situation. These findings imply that an effective surface treatment, such as painting of a less emissive material, may provide a less detection probability and contribute to preventing the target from being detected at night.

스케일 불변적인 연산량 감소를 위한 경량 실시간 소형 적외선 표적 검출 알고리즘 (A Lightweight Real-Time Small IR Target Detection Algorithm to Reduce Scale-Invariant Computational Overhead)

  • Detecting small infrared targets from the low-SCR images at a long distance is very hard. The previous Local Contrast Method (LCM) algorithm based on the human visual system shows a superior performance of detecting small targets by a background suppression technique through local contrast measure. However, its slow processing speed due to the heavy multi-scale processing overhead is not suitable to a variety of real-time applications. This paper presents a lightweight real-time small target detection algorithm, called by the Improved Selective Local Contrast Method (ISLCM), to reduce the scale-invariant computational overhead. The proposed ISLCM applies the improved local contrast measure to the predicted selective region so that it may have a comparable detection performance as the previous LCM while guaranteeing low scale-invariant computational load by exploiting both adaptive scale estimation and small target feature feasibility. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce its computational overhead considerably while maintaining its detection performance compared with the previous LCM.

MWIR 및 SWIR 센서를 이용한 커널상관필터기반의 표적추적 (Target Tracking based on Kernelized Correlation Filter Using MWIR and SWIR Sensors)

  • When tracking small UAVs and drone targets in cloud clutter environments, MWIR sensors are often unable to track targets continuously. To overcome this problem, the SWIR sensor is mounted on the same gimbal. Target tracking uses sensor information fusion or selectively applies information from each sensor. In this case, parallax correction using the target distance is often used. However, it is difficult to apply the existing method to small UAVs and drone targets because the laser rangefinder's beam divergence angle is small, making it difficult to measure the distance. We propose a tracking method which needs not parallax correction of sensors. In the method, images from MWIR and SWIR sensors are captured simultaneously and a tracking error for gimbal driving is chosen by effectiveness measure. In order to prove the method, tracking performance was demonstrated for UAVs and drone targets in the real sky background using MWIR and SWIR image sensors.
