This paper compares the curricula in 1985 and those in 1993 of nine Department of Library and Information Science. The Comparison may be claimed as a curriculum comparison between the Departments of Library Science and the Departments of Library and Information Science. The purpose of the comparison is to find out the differences of the curricula provided between the 1980s and the 1990s. The differences are expected to show the trends of library education and the reasons which have caused them to ha n.0, ppen. Before comparing, some theoretical backgrounds of curriculum developments as well as the curriculum changes in the United States of America and in Korea have been described. For the purpose of the study, the numbers of subjects, compulsory and elective, along with credits, the subjects included in the curricula, and the distributions of the subjects have been compared. Some differences are found between the periods, but they are not so distinctive as expected. The most notable change is an increase of subjects on information science and technology. Based on the findings, a few suggestions, which include that subjects dealing with library use and services need to be increased, are recommended.

To revise and develop a 'Model' Curriculum for training the middle standing professionals equipped with professional technology and theories at the spot of the library, such process were executed as research on bibliographic material and literature, utilization of examination of various questionnaires, interviews with middle standing librarians at the spot of the library, a review on the operational state of the Professor's Association of Library Science of Junior Colleges, some consultation with the Research & Deliberation Committee on Curriculums, etc., and to review the present department of library science at the two-year course's short-term colleges or institutes in foreign countries, Germany which is thought to be similar to our nation's situations and its level of economy and Singapore which is considered to be a newly emerging nation were looked into typically. In particular, since studies on the curriculums of the Library Science Dept. of colleges had already preceded, thereby the framework of the 'Model' curriculum was already achieved, however to review how well such framework is applied to the spot of education and give some improvement on that, some unrelistic findings of different subjects in consideration with reality, while comparing those curriculum schedules of each Library Science Dept. with the 'Model' curriculum schedule, were supplemented or revised to be fit to reality. For some supplementing or revising proposals on the pre studied 'Model' curriculum, some tentative plans which focussed on each field respectively and some tentative plans which focussed on cultural subjects, required major subjects and elective subjects were suggested in duality to be referred to. On such a process of forming a harmony of educational theories and practice, it was planned to revise and develop curriculum in a sense emphasizing on practical exercise, and tried not to neglect on each of the fields of the curriculum centered on the areas of materials organization, linguistics, information resource, information science, library organization, & administration, etc. The study on curriculums should be performed flexible to be applied to the accelerating transition of sciences, and be good examples in instruction.

본 연구는 정보소외계층에 대한 사회의 관심도 증가에 따라 도서관서비스 대상에서 소외되었던 장애인 이용자가 처한 특수상황에 맞는 맞춤형 도서관서비스를 제공하기 위한 방안으로 도서관장애인서비스 전문사서 교과 과정 모형을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 도서관장애인서비스 전문사서 교과과정에 반드시 포함되어야 하는 요인을 선별하기 위하여 국내외 도서관에서 이루어지고 있는 기존의 도서관장애인서비스와 장애인서비스 전문사서 교과과정을 조사 분석하였다. 이상의 연구결과를 종합하여 도서관장애인서비스를 위한 전문사서 양성 과정에 반드시 포함되어야 할 교과 내용과 교과 과정을 기초 과정과 심화 과정으로 나누어 제시하였다.

New curriculum for information and library science is proposed on the notion of the internship and scholarly characteristics. The future of the information and library science is expected as the discipline to synthesize the natural science and the social science. Especially the internship is strongly suggested as the post graduate program. To draw the conclusion. the history of the information and library science and its educational background are analyzed. The states of the historical developments of the information and library science are explained in terms of philosophy. The functional and scholarly environments of the information and library science are also investigated. Secondarily it concludes that the curriculum development for information and library science is not aimed on the skills but on the phenomena.

이 연구는 우리나라 문헌정보학과내 정보서비스 영역 교과과정을 분석하여 정보서비스분야의 발전적인 교과운용방안의 도출을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 국내 주요 대학교 5곳과 미국 주요 대학원 4곳을 선정하여, 해당 대학교가 개설하고 있는 정보서비스관련 교과목을 비교 분석하였다. 또한 우리나라 공공도서관의 사서채용시에 요구하는 시험과목을 분석하였다. 전자는 학문적 기반의 정보서비스 교과내용을 파악하기 위함이고, 후자는 도서관 현장에서 요구하는 정보서비스의 교과내용을 파악하기 위함이었다. 분석결과, 학문적으로 요구하는 정보서비스 영역은 분야별 정보원에 관련한 지식(장서 관리, 주제별 서지 등)과 대이용자 분석에 관련한 지식(정보서비스, 이용자연구, 독서지도 등) 등이었다. 또한 국가고시의 관리자급 채용요건에서는 정보서비스 이론과 함께 주제정보원 및 대이용자 서비스 관련 지식을 종합적으로 요구하고 있었다. 따라서 정보서비스 영역 교과과정에서 전문적인 주제정보교육이 보다 강화될 필요성을 확인할 수 있었다.

본 연구는 정보서비스측면에서 국내 문헌정보학 교과목의 문제점을 다루어봄으로써 교육의 전문성과 현장적응성을 높이기 위한 방안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이률 위해 국내 32개 대학의 2005년과 2009년의 문헌정보학 교과목의 변화를 분석하였으며, 미국의 현황과 비교하였다. 조사결과, 국내 문헌정보학의 경우, 개론 및 원론위주의 교과목이 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 대학 간 제공 교과목의 수에 차이가 많았으며, 도서관 현장에 대한 이해 및 관찰, 그리고 참여가 이루어지는 교과목이 부족한 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 효율적인 정보서비스 교과목의 운영을 위해서는 이용자와 주제에 대한 이해 및 서비스를 위한 과정의 제공과 도서관 현장과의 연계방안을 통한 실무교육을 강화할 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 이용자교육과 커뮤니케이션 능력 향상을 위한 교과목의 확충과 대학별 특화도 시급한 것으로 분석되었다.

교육인적자원부는 학교도서관의 교육적 역할을 담은 초ㆍ중등학교 '정보와 도서관' 교육과정을 승인하였다. 학교도서관의 사서교사들이 실시하는 도서관이용지도, 독서교육, 정보활용교육, 협동수업 등을 모두 통합하여 학교 교육과정에 포함한 것이다. 학교 교육은 기본적으로 교육과정을 중심으로 운영된다. 따라서, 학교에서의 모든 교육 활동은 학교 교육과정 속에서 인정받는 것이 중요하다. 본고에서는 정보와 도서관 교육과정의 편성 내용을 바탕으로 연결거점론, 통합거점론, Top456접근법, 교육과정기반접근법을 제시하고 있다.

A study has been made prior to the emphatic research to see how the curriculum of the Library Science Departments, in general, has developed to date. In the principles of the composition of the curriculum of library science, research has been conducted to determine what decisions will be the most appropriate for the changing trend of the society, regarding the matters of general specialization versus subject specialization education, the definition, change and operation of the core subject, the expansion of the elective specialized subjects and the composition of the curriculum by types of the library, and the curriculum composition in terms of subject specilization. The curriculum should consist of a unified series of courses and other educational experiences, designed to meet specific program objectives. Principles and concepts should be emphasized, over routines and techniques. All students should study certain fundamental 'core' subjects, as well as more specialized electives. General education (studies outside of librarianship) should be a major component of the total education of the librarian. Fundamental core subjects should be treated as introductory courses covering deep studies that can provide the most inclusive information related to the library science field. They should be offered as pre-requisites required of all the students entering the Department of Library Science. Specialized subjects and interdisciplinary courses comprising subject concentration should be offered as electives at the advanced level.

정보활용능력 교육은 학교도서관 운영에서 가장 핵심적인 영역이라고 할 수 있다. 효과적인 정보활용능력 교육을 통해 교수 학습 과정에 통합될 수 있으며 나아가 학교도서관의 존립 근거를 확보할 수 있기 때문이다. 이런 원리에 근거하여 이 연구에서는 미국의 선진 학교도서관 운영에 적용되는 정보활용능력 교육 체제와 내용에 대하여 경험적 관찰과 자료를 중심으로 소개하고 분석한다. 미국 학교도서관의 현장에서 수행되는 다양한 정보활용능력 교육의 원리와 내용이 어떤 기준과 교과과정에 근거하는지 탐구하기 위해 국가적 기준과 여러 주의 교과과정을 조사하고 분석하였다. 특히 이 연구에서 조사하고 분석한 각 주별 교과과정의 내용과 체제는 우리 학교도서관 교과과정을 개발하고 운용하는 일에 많은 시사점을 제공한다고 할 수 있다.

초·중등학교 교육을 위해서는 교육과정이 필수적이다. 한국의 국가 수준 교육과정인 2022 개정 교육과정의 개발이 완료되었다. 그럼에도 정보활용교육을 위한 교육과정인 ｢도서관과 정보생활｣은 2009 개정교육과정 구조에 머물러 있다. 본 연구에서는 미국 펜실베니아 주의 정보활용교육을 위한 교육과정의 구조와 내용을 분석하여 정보활용 교육에 대한 동향을 파악하고, ｢도서관과 정보생활｣의 개정 방향을 제안하고자 한다. 정보활용교육을 위한 펜실베니아 주의 교육과정은 영속적인 전이 목적, 빅 아이디어(탐구, 포용, 협력, 정보활용, 자기관리, 참여), 개념, 본질적 질문 등의 총괄구조로 구성되어 있다. 또한, 1단계(바라는 결과), 2단계(평가 증거), 3단계(학습 계획) 등의 세부구조 로 구성되어 있다.
