  • As to the critical purposes of elementary school education, which are to enhance the basic abilities for learning as well as living and to help children to acquire the desirable style of life, it is needed for teachers to cooperate with children's parents since they are the most affluential people to their children. this paper presents a novel web-based school life information system, which can be exploited as a means to establish a close and well-purposed relationship between parents and teachers and which is intended to induce parents into children's education aggressively by connecting them to teachers directly. This system is expected to be a great help to both teachers and parents in that both sides establish a well-understood and cooperative relationship through this system for solving the probable problems of their children in a effective way.

  • The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), an apex body of controlling technical education in India, has made mandatory subscription of e-Resources to all its Engineering College Libraries. This policy has directly helped the teaching community, research scholars, and student's paternity, which has benefits for their teaching, research activities, and curriculum, respectively. This study emphasizes the usefulness of e-Resources among the teachers and scholars of engineering colleges in the Bangalore region under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka. Survey methodology has been used as the basic research tool for data collection with the help of questionnaires. 866 teaching faculties in VTU were selected randomly on the basis of willingness of users who access the e-Resources for their academic and research activities in the survey. The survey results were tabulated and analyzed with descriptive statistics methods using the SPSS 20 software package. The findings reveal that e-resources are useful for engineering college teachers and scholars for their academic and research activities.

  • This thesis progressed research on the improvements of NCS multimedia utilization for preliminary teachers. A national module has not been developed yet in terms of child education, so this thesis suggests a curriculum according to the courses taught for freshmen and sophomores of K University Child Education majors. To lessen the burden of tremendous work and classes, provide motivation and interest in learning and maximize the effect, this thesis provides NCS based curriculum. It expects to improve task performance of teachers and help them with better skills to make class materials using up-to-date multimedia, regardless of the computer literacy of preliminary teachers. This thesis does prior research on the abilities to make use of computers and understand the level of computer literacy. Then it suggests NCS based curriculum goals and its performance standards to utilize task-suitable software. It aims to enable efficient multimedia usage, and optimize the learning efficiency of education linked to Nuri precesses.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze Korean teacher textbook use and explore the effective use of textbooks. The researcher surveyed teachers to obtain information relative to their dispositions and views of textbook use, and a subset interviewed to obtain additional insight about these views. For the sample, 278 elementary school teachers were surveyed and a group interview was conducted with 6 teachers. The results showed that many teachers teach all the students simply by following the textbook content. These results suggest that for effective us of textbooks, teachers need to understand how to reconstruct the textbook within an understanding of the textbook authors' intension for the textbook content.

  • This study investigated Korean science teachers' concerns and needs regarding inquiry testing to cope with the innovation called College Scholastic Abilities Test(CSAT), which was officially first administered as the nation-wide college entrance exam in 1994. This study adopted Concerns Based Adoption Model(CBAM) as the theoretical framework developed by Hall et al. 60 high science teachers (30 physics, 20 earth science, 10 others) were involved for the main study in August, 1992. In general. science teachers demonstrated a concern profile similar to that of 'nonusers'. They showed high level of concerns on the 'information' and 'personal' stage, while low level of concerns on 'management' and 'consequence' stage. Science teachers expressed their strong needs for knowledge and support to facilitate inquiry teaching and testing, text books written in inquiry mode. It is recommended that in-service trainings be provided based on the concerns and needs of teachers for a better teacher training and successful implementation of the innovation.

  • Subjects were 15 teachers and 143 children at 15 child-care centers in Seoul that varied by quality of care. The Child Care Program Observation Scale(Rhee et at., 2003) was employed to observe the quality of the centers. Information on teachers' participation in play was collected by 20 units of observation for each teacher using a rating scale developed by the author. Children's behaviors were observed with time sampling method in 12 categories of play behaviors based on Social and Cognitive Play Scales(Rubin et al., 1978). Children's play behaviors varied by quality of child-care centers and teachers' participation in play. When child-care quality was high, teachers' participated actively in children's play and children showed developmentally appropriate play behaviors.

  • The study aims to discover the scope of pre-service special education teachers' knowledge and perceptions of using computer technology in teaching students with disabilities from a pre-service teacher (PST) perspective in light of the gender and sub-major variables. The sample consisted of 84 MEd students/pre-service teachers at the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, Umm Al-Qura University. The descriptive analytical approach is used due to its relevance to the study. A survey consisting of the participant's basic information section and 12 statements was sent to a set of pre-service teachers. Findings showed that pre-service special education teachers had an overall high knowledge of using computer technology (M=3.93). Findings also indicated that there were no gender- or major-related statistically significant differences (α = 0.05), in pre-service special education students' knowledge and perceptions of using computer technology.

  • This study aimed to investigate the status of happiness according to the background of teachers, and to find out the effects of social support and job satisfaction on teachers' happiness. For this, the data of 249 teachers participating in the teacher training were analyzed using the Google online survey. As a result, there was no significant difference in gender or career, but elementary school teachers were found to have higher happiness than high school teachers. All the sub-factors of social support and job satisfaction were found to have positive relationship with the happiness sub-factors. In addition, in terms of the effects of social support and job satisfaction on inner happiness, teaching consciousness, autonomy, and trustworthy alliance had a positive effect on inner happiness, and the trustworthy alliance, advice, teaching consciousness on external commitment, and social belonging, Autonomy, development, and innovation had a positive effect on self-regulated happiness. It is believed that there is a need to improve the happiness of teachers using the results of this study.

  • This article is to provide information on school contexts for learning and instruction of mathematics based on the results and data of TIMSS 1999. It is organized around two major topics: teacher and students achievement, instruction and students achievement In this article the following summarizes the major findings. First, about $50\%$ of Korean eight-grade students were taught mathematics by teachers in their 30s, and this was higher than the international average. Most of teachers in Korea had certification of teachers majors in mathematics. Korean teachers reported relatively low confidence to teach mathematics compared to other counties. And Korean students taught by teachers who believes they were well prepared attained low achievement scores in contrast to international result. Second, korean teachers spent about $50\%$ of their formally scheduled school time teaching their subject, but is was below the international average. They spent much more time on administrative duties and other related activities than other countries. Korean students reported that most of their class time were spent lecture style presentations by teacher. Also they reported that teachers showed them how to do mathematics. The percentages of Korean students were placed on the low level of index of emphasis on mathematics reasoning and problem-solving. The students taught by teachers who emphasized reasoning and problem-solving showed low achievement scores in contrast with result of the previous literatures. Korean teachers didn't seem to emphasize homework and assessments. Internationally, teachers frequently used teacher-made objective tests and projects or practical exercises, but Korean teachers die less in most of categories. Based on the above findings, this article presents implications about teacher education, reduction of administrative working in teachers tasks, using everyday life topics, as learning materials, specialization instruction methods for each subject matter. This article is a kind of descriptive and factual in nature, but some attempt has been made to contextualize these results focused on teachers and instruction.
