Purpose - In the development of new products, suppliers involvement and developing products jointly can be said to be strategic activities that utilize the lack of knowledge from external organizations. In this new product development, supplier involvement has been proven to have a positive impact on new product development performance for a long time by previous research. However, sufficient academic research has not been conducted on the influence of supplier involvement in various product strategies or sales strategies that buyers make in order to secure a competitive advantage in the market. This study argues that product strategy and sales strategy used by buyers in the development of new products will control the effect of supplier involvement on new product development performance in order to compensate the lack of these academic aspects. Research design, data, and methodology - Specifically, we selected the modularization strategy of the product as the product strategy, which is considered as an important strategy in the new product development through the preceding research, and the mass customer satisfaction strategy was chosen as the sales strategy. In order to achieve these research objectives, regression analysis was conducted using data from manufacturing productivity panel collected jointly by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Industry and the Korea Productivity Center. Results - As a result, supplier involvement and new product development performances (development cost efficiency, customer satisfaction) were positively related. The product modularity strategy proved to have an interactive effect on the relationship between supplier involvement and new product development performances (development cost efficiency, customer satisfaction). However, it has not been confirmed that there is a statistically significant interaction effect between supplier involvement and new product development performances. Conclusions - Supplier involvement has positive relationships with NPD performance. In addition, product modularity strategies have interaction effects with supplier involvement and affect new product development performance (development cost efficiency and customer satisfaction). The results of this study are of academic significance in the case of lack of empirical studies on the effect of supplier participation on the effect of buyer 's strategy when a supplier participates and develops new products jointly.
As the South China Sea maritime dispute illustrates, when considering the place where maritime claims occur, states do not have many choices to respond to maritime claims in which disputed areas are located far away from the land and are surrounded by the sea. As Mearsheimer (2014) points out, the sea stops power projection. Therefore, in order to adopt coercive as well as peaceful settlement policies to deal with maritime claims, states need to overcome obstacles (the sea) to project power. It means that if states want to conduct a specific foreign policy action, such as negotiating maritime borderlines or arguing sovereignty on islands, they need a tool (naval power) to coerce or to persuade the opponent. However, there are lack of research that studies maritime claims from the perspective of naval power. This research project fills this gap based on naval power. How do relative levels of naval power and (dis) parities of naval power influence the occurrence of MIDs over maritime claims? Naval power is a constitutive element during maritime claims. If disputants over maritime claims have required naval power to project their capability, it means that they have the capability to apply various ways, such as aggressive options including MIDs, to accomplish their goals. So, I argue that when two claimants have enough naval power to project their capabilities, the likelihood of MIDs over maritime claims increases. Given that one or both states have a certain level of naval power, how does relative naval power between two claimants influence the management of maritime claims? Based on the power transition theory, I argue that when the disparities of relative naval power between claimants becomes distinctive, militarized conflicts surrounding maritime territory are less probable. Based on the ICOW project which codes maritime claims from 1900 to 2001, the empirical results of the Poisson models show if both claimants have projectable naval power, the occurrence of MIDs over maritime claims increases. In addition, the result shows that when disputants maintain similar relative naval powers, they are more likely to initiate MIDs over maritime claims. To put it differently, if naval capabilities' gap between two claimants becomes larger, the probability of the occurrence of MIDs decreases.
Purpose: This study aims to uncover the mechanism of how initial fees are determined in the restaurant franchise business. Since the initial fees can be considered as a price of utilizing business models and operational knowledge of a certain franchise brand, it is critical to understand the fee decision-making process based on the strategic pricing theories. Therefore, this study investigates the influence of operational value on the determination of initial franchise fees grounded on a value-based pricing strategy. The Operational value is specifically categorized into profitability, growth, and stability of the franchise system. Research design, data, and methodology: The data used were collected through franchise disclosure documents and brand equity index provided by Korea Management Association Consulting. Data from 44 franchise restaurants during 2018 to 2021 are included in the sample. The panel dataset was analyzed by using generalized least squares estimation with R-Studio. Results: Profitability and stability positively influence initial franchise fees. However, growth did not influence initial franchise fees. Conclusions: The results of the study demonstrate that the operational value plays a critical role in determining the franchise fees. Specifically, franchisees recognize how much revenue a franchise system generates for them (i.e., profitability) and how stable the entire system is for operating business (i.e., stability) when they make purchasing decisions for franchise. The findings extend the pricing literature by applying pricing theories in the franchise fee context. Also, the study contributes to franchising and restaurant management literature by providing knowledge of how franchise fees are determined.
This study investigates the influence of social network services (SNS) and political podcasts on youth participation in candlelight rallies leading up to the impeachment of the Korean president. It also examines the effect of SNS and podcasts on online participation through SNSs. It was found that engaging in political discussions with friends or parents and news media use, including TV and Internet newspapers, exerted a major positive influence on participation in the rallies. However, SNS had a negative influence, while podcasts did not have a significant effect. On the other hand, SNS and podcasts had a positive influence on online participation. The results of structural equation modeling showed that SNS and podcasts affected SNS participation in the mediation of political discussion and political efficacy.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the travel show visitors' cognitive and affective attitude on the psychological and visitor satisfaction and to use as an important data to make marketing strategy and improve a company's outcome. For this study, 240 visitors from Hanatour International Travel Show are selected. And 203 valid questionnaires are analyzed. The first result was that travel show visitors' cognitive attitude have a positive influence on the psychological and visitor satisfaction. The second result was that, travel show visitors' affective attitude have a positive influence on the psychological and visitor satisfaction. As a result, it is needed to recognize that participation attitude is a main cause which has an important influence on visitors' satisfaction. In addition, it is needed to establish strategy about active maketing activity to make visitor satisfaction move to positive activity purpose and to plan travel show which has differentiated items and contents.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self leadership and empowerment and organization innovation action in private security guard. This study established private security guards who is being located in Seoul, 2011 and work in the private security company by population. Using purposive sampling method, 293 samples were drawn and were used for the final analysis. Using SPSSWIN 18.0, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis and path analysis were performed. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value which shows the reliability of the questionnaire came out to be over .831. The conclusion is following. First, private security guard's self leadership affects to empowerment. That is, influence and semanticity are enlarged as action center strategy, natural compensation strategy is attained well. Also, capacity, self decision power is enlarged as constructive thinking strategy, natural compensation strategy is attained well. Second, private security guard's self leadership affects to organization innovation action. In other words, innovation action is increased as action center strategy is attained well. Also, organization's innovation result is enlarged as constructive thinking strategy, action center strategy, natural compensation strategy are attained well. Third, private security guard's empowerment affects on organization innovation action. That is, innovation action, innovation result appears high in case of influence, semanticity is enlarged. Fourth, private security guard's self leadership exerts direction indirect effect in empowerment and organization innovation action. Thus, empowerment is an important variable that mediate self leadership and organization innovation action.
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of teacher efficacy and stress coping strategies on job satisfaction of teachers in early childhood education and care. 189 teachers were recruited from 8 day care centers and 10 kindergartens in Seoul, Kyunggi, Kyungbuk, and Chonbuk provinces in Korea. Data were analyzed through frequencies, Pearson's correlations, and the stepwise regression analyses using PASW 18.0. The findings are as follows. First, the result showed that teachers in ECEC were most likely to be satisfied with their job characteristics most among the 4 subcategories in job satisfaction. They also perceived their the ability of discipline high for teacher efficacy, and used the direct coping strategy most as a stress coping strategy. Second, the teachers' ability to create a positive learning atmosphere affected job characteristics, the ability to participate in decision-making affected the relationship with director and colleagues, working environment, welfare and salary the most. Third, the direct coping strategy had the most impacts on all subcategories of job satisfaction. The results of this study may provide basic data for finding effective way to increase job satisfaction of teachers in ECEC.

This paper looks into Value articulation model by Professor James Conley and analyzed the firms that utilized intellectual property rights to extend the period of protection, strengthen their competitiveness and succeeded in breaking into new market by using the rights they possess. Also, this paper examines the usage of intellectual property rights and business expansion strategy of of Iconix, the Korean entertainment company, which gained tremendous popularity in last ten years using this model. In Value articulation model, Conley classifies the process of exploiting the portfolio of the single product's(or service's) intellectual property right for a period of time into three stages ; value transference, value translation, value transportation. Pororo's strategy of utilizing intellectual property right is suggestive to domestic entertainment companies. Under the influence of hallyu" (Korean wave), domestic contents such as movies, dramas and music are enjoying the high level of popularity recently not to mention animations. In reality, Korean entertainment companies who have no background or experience of Intellectual property rights are not creating enough added values compared to fast growing market. It is believed Iconix's intellectual property rights management strategy will suggest positive aspects to domestic companies. Moreover, I hope various intellectual property rights management strategies including Conley's value articulation are studied and they can make contributions to managing domestic entertainment companies.
Constantly enhancing positioning accuracy by the Global Positioning System (GPS) technique is of great importance, but challenging, especially after the GPS positioning technique has been improved considerably during the past two decades. The associated main error sources have been reduced substantially, if not eliminated. Troposhpeic influence with its highly temporal and spatial variability appears to be one of the major error sources. It is hence an increased interest among GPS researchers to reduce the tropospheric influence or delay. Two techniques have been commonly implemented to correct the tropospheric impact. The first technique, known as parameter estimation, characterizes the path delay with empirical models and the parameters of interest are determined from the GPS measurements. The second strategy, termed as external correction, involves independent path delay measurements. The present study is an integration of both techniques in which the parameter estimation as well as external correction are used to correct the path delay for $110{\sim}210$ km range baselines. Twenty-four parameters have been obtained in 24 hours solution by setting the cutoff angle at 3 and 15 degrees for parameter estimation strategy. Measurements from meteorological instruments and water vapor radiometer (WVR) are applied in the GPS data processing, separately, as an external strategy of present research work. Interesting results have been found, indicating more stable repeatability in baseline when the external correction strategy is applied especially with the inclusion of WVR observations. The offset of an order of 1 cm is found in the baselines determined by the two strategies. On the other hand, parameter estimation exhibits more stable in terms of GPS height repeatability. The offset in the GPS height determined by the two strategies is on the order of few centimeters.

Rotor temperature variation is a significant issue in the design of induction motor controls. In the literature, numerous studies have mentioned significant performance degradation due to rotor temperature variation unless it is taken into account. However, those studies have mainly focused on field-oriented control in terms of tracking performance. There was little research about the influence of rotor temperature variation on performance particularly in the case of optimal controls such as maximum torque per amp (MTPA) control strategy. This work investigates how to affect the performance of maximum torque per amp (MTPA) control strategy as rotor temperature varies in time. To this end, investigation was carried out in two ways to see whether the objective of MTPA control strategy is achieved regardless of rotor temperature variation. It is to produce a desired torque with the minimum possible stator current at the same time. Laboratory experiment shows that tracking performance and maximum torque per amp condition is significantly affected by rotor temperature variation as rotor temperature varies, thus ending up with performance degradation of MTPA control.
