A Study on Consumers' Characteristics according to their Fashion Leadership - Focused on Body Cathexis, Self-Efficacy and Shopping Orientation -

  • The purposes of this study were to determine consumers' characteristics that were shown according to their fashion leadership through examining the differences found with consumers' self-conception like the body cathexis and self-efficacy and clothing shopping orientation. The data were collected from 263 female college students using questionnaire. The results could be summarized as follows: First, the household income, subjective social class and clothing expenditure of the fashion leader group was larger than those of the fashion follower and laggard groups. Second, the fashion leader group showed higher body cathexis than the fashion follower and laggard groups in the lower body, the abdominal region, the bust shape, and the whole body shape. Thirdly, the higher was the fashion leadership, the higher was the self-efficacy. Forth, it was proved that the higher was the fashion leadership, the higher were the clothing shopping orientation such as home-shopping preference, hedonic shopping, impulsive purchasing, and brand loyalty.

  • Recently, the airline industry has grown tremendously, and competition among airlines has intensified. Therefore, the importance of airline's service quality has been greatly emphasized. The human service provided by the airline is the biggest service the customer feels, so the customer orientation of the flight attendant is very important. The aim of this study was to identify the mediating effects of organizational commitment on the relationship among transformational leadership and customer orientation. As a results of the study, transformational leadership had positive significant effects on organizational commitment and job customer orientation. The results of this study imply that the organizational commitment play significant mediating role between transformational leadership and customer orientation.

셀프리더십의 영향요인과 효과: 의료기관 조직구성원을 중심으로 (The Influence Factors and Effects of Self-leadership: Focusing on Members of the Hospitals)

  • The purpose of this empirical study is to investigate the factors of self-leadership depending on individual characteristics, job characteristics, and qualities of leader-member exchange. Additionally, this study aims to discover the effect of self-leadership's outcome factors on organizational citizenship behavior and innovative activities. In order to verify research model and hypothesis, questionnaires were collected from department members working at general hospitals, hospitals, and clinics in metropolitan area of Seoul, which were 85 departments and 344 respondents. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS ver. 19.0 and Amos ver. 18.0 statistical package using Structural Equation Model. The results of the analysis showed that both individual characteristics and job characteristics have significant positive effect on self-leadership. Also, self-leadership had significant positive relationship on innovative action and organizational citizenship behavior. The implications of this study are as follow. First, this study empirically explained how self-leadership is applied in healthcare organizations. Second, it verified the relationship between causal factors and outcome factors of self-leadership. Also, prior researches of self-leadership have been conducted on business companies, but this study explored self-leadership at healthcare organizations, which increased external validity. Nowadays, many people are interested in the effect of leadership in order to overcome issues coming from enlarged organizations and to improve performance. Self-leadership will contribute to maximizing voluntary efforts of human resources and performance in a rapidly changing healthcare industry.

외식업체 종사원의 서비스 지향성 요인에 관한 차이 분석 (An Analysis of the Differences in Foodservice Industry Employees Service Orientation Factor)

  • A review of literature relating to the research topic and a survey method have been implemented in order to analyze effects of service orientation. For data analysis, a reliability analysis was performed to test the reliability of the construct and a series of an exploratory factor analysis was used for the validity test. The findings of the study were as follows: Classified into sex, service leadership factor and service skill factor showed meaningful difference between groups. Classified with age, service training factor, service leadership factor, service standardization factor, service technology factor, and service compensation factor showed meaningful difference between groups. Classified with scholarship, service compensation factor showed meaningful difference. Classified into working year, employees' discretion factor showed meaningful difference. Classified into work department, service training factor and employees' right factor showed meaningful difference. In addition, classified into monthly average incomes, employees' discretion factor showed meaningful difference.

현대와 도요타의 품질 위기와 극복 (The Quality Crisis and Response at Hyundai and Toyota Motor)

  • Purpose: This study compares quality crisis and management at Hyundai Motor in the late 1990s and Toyota Motor in the late 2000s. We can expect to induce more meaningful policy implications in quality management from this in-depth comparative case study. Methods: This study compares two cases at Hyundai and Toyota Motor how to overcome quality crisis based on the OESP (Organization-Environments-Strategy- Performance) model. Results: Hyundai Motor shows centralized approach based on the asymmetric organizational culture and the entrepreneurial leadership but Toyota shows decentralized, systematic approach based on the steady state leadership and symmetric organizational culture. The CEO's leadership have proved to be one of the important factors at both companies. Conclusion: The effective quality management in global contexts has become more and more difficult for the 'complexity explosions' in automobile industry. As a consequence, the future competitive edge of world automobile industry will come from the effective quality management of products in global contexts.

상사의 변혁적 리더십이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 : 지식경영활동의 매개변수를 중심으로 (The Influence of Transformational Leadership Exhibited by Organizational Leaders on Organizational Commitment: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Knowledge Management Activities)

  • 본 연구는 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 지식경영활동과 조직몰입에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였으며, 상사의 변혁적 리더십과 조직몰입의 관계에서 지식경영활동이 매개효과를 나타내는지를 분석한 실증연구이다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로서 본 논문은 서비스/제조/IT 대기업 종사자 635명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 이를 토대로 산업별 변수간의 관계에 대하여 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 용어에 대한 정의를 살펴보면, 변혁적 리더십은 목표달성에 그치지 않고 변화와 혁신을 추구하며, 조직구성원들이 지니고 있는 잠재적 역량과 강점을 개발하고 자신감과 열정을 증대시키며, 긍정적 강점을 자극하여 기대했던 것보다 높은 성과를 달성하도록 한다. 이러한 변혁적 리더십은 조직유효성을 증진시키는 선행요인으로 중요하게 인지되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 지식경영활동에 모두 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 조직몰입에 모두 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지식경영활동도 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 조직몰입간에 지식경영활동의 매개역할에 관해서 부분매개효과를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 다섯째, 각 집단별로 분석해보면 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 지식경영활동에 미치는 영향에서는 서비스업이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 지식경영활동이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에서도 서비스업이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상사의 변혁적 리더십이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에서는 IT업이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 위와 같은 분석결과를 토대로, 변혁적 리더십이 지식경영활동과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에 대한 결과의 의미와 산업별 차이에 대한 의미를 중심으로 시사점을 논의하였고 연구의 한계점도 제시하였다.

Determinant Factors for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Leadership Attributes: An Empirical Study from Malaysia

  • Most leadership styles are generally designed to enhance the cognitive and behavioral skills of leaders with the implicit assumption that this would ultimately translate into high performance. As we are moving towards Industry 4.0, organizations must employ leadership styles that will help the organization succeed. Thus, the objective of this paper is to confirm the determinant factors for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) leadership attributes in Malaysian manufacturing companies. Stratified sampling was used to select the sample. Data was collected using the online survey method, where the response rate was 43 percent. The respondents consisted of respondents aged from 31-40 years old, with 69 respondents. In terms of race, the highest number of respondents are the Malays. Questionnaires were distributed to middle and top-level managers from manufacturing companies which were listed in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to confirm the reliability and validity of the construct. Based on the analysis, 66 items could be used to measure the 4IR leadership attributes. The validation of 4IR leadership can also provide predictive implications on improving leaders' performance, given the different attributes confirmed by the findings.

Exploring the Nature of Volunteer and Leadership and Its Implications for Sport Management

  • Purpose: This study examines the role of leaders of sport organizations from the perspectives of rank-and-file volunteers. Specifically, the study explores which factors are important in leading volunteers and how rank-and-filers interact with their leaders. Research design, data, and methodology: This study reviews a comprehensive literature on volunteer and leadership theories which are trait theory, behavior theory, and contingency theory. Given the comprehension of prior structure of knowledge on leadership, the study provides a structure of knowledge on volunteer and leadership in sport context and discusses managerial implications for leaders in sport organization. Results: With an exploration of sport leadership, this study proposes a volunteer classification model which presents four-volunteer types: professional volunteer, company volunteer, general volunteer, and school volunteer. Furthermore, this study discussed managerial implications for sport organization leaders. Conclusions: Paid employees may be prepared to accept a job and its requirements mainly due to economic benefits. Volunteers, however, do not pursue economic benefits through their activity. Different types of motivation between paid employees and volunteers bring to surface how a leader influences volunteer effectively. A conceptual volunteer clarification model could be examined in real world situations. Insights for future studies were discussed.

외식업체 조리사들의 서번트 리더십과 동료신뢰 및 협력간의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between Servant Leadership and Co-worker Trust, Cooperation in the Foodservice Industry)

  • 본 연구는 인적자원관리가 매우 중요한 외식업에서 상사의 서번트 리더십이 조직구성원의 동료에 대한 신뢰와 협력간의 관계에서 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 연구를 진행하였다. 이러한 점에 주목하여 본 연구에서는 외식업의 조직관리를 향상시킬 수 있는 원인변수인 서번트 리더십에는 어떤 요인으로 구성되어 있는지 살펴보았다. 이러한 시도는 외식업의 인적자원관리에 있어 중요한 의의를 지니고 있으며, 특히 새로운 인적자원 관리방안이 절실히 필요한 시점에서 기존의 외식업 연구와는 차별화 된 서번트 리더십 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울지역의 패밀리레스토랑, 패스트푸드업체 및 대형식당 등 외식업체에 근무하는 조리사로 선정하였다. 조사기간은 2014년 1월 4일부터 약 3일간 조사원에게 직접방문을 하도록 하여 조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 총 200부를 배포하여 이 중 불성실하게 응답된 설문지는 제외하고 최종분석에 사용된 설문지는 191부였다. 결론적으로 조직에서 수적으로나 질적으로 리더십이 차지하는 비중은 늘어나고 있으며, 효과적인 리더가 조직성패의 열쇠를 쥐게 되고 리더들이 조직의 인적자원관리에 미치는 영향이 커짐에도 불구하고, 외식업에서는 지금까지 한정된 리더십 연구에만 초점을 맞추어 왔다. 그러므로 서번트 리더십의 연구를 계기로 외식업에서는 새롭고 다양한 리더십에 관한 연구가 활발하게 이루어질 것으로 기대된다.

중소 ICT 기업 학습조직 참여자의 셀프리더십이 학습지향성과 LMX를 통하여 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Small ICT Businesses' Learning Organization Participants' Self-Leadership on Their Job Satisfaction, Through Learning Orientation and Leader-Member Exchange)

  • Global conglomerates in the late 2010s are seeking changes from the existing method of financial growth into that of sustainable growth, as they are facing the age of 4th industrial revolution. In preparation for this change of the times and to stay competitive, small businesses are required to produce creative knowledge, and systematically share and store it by means of implementing voluntary and specific changes in their convictions and actions. This study aims to empirically examine how the ICT small businesses' organizational learning participants' self-leadership affect their job satisfaction through organization orientation and Leader-Member Exchange(LMX). The research sample consists of the first to third-year employees that have previously participated in the small businesses' organizational learning support project, and of learning leaders, group leaders, and group members from companies that have previously concluded the project. The results are as follows: First, the self-leadership at the ICT small businesses' organizational learning project has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. The same positive results are shown in learning orientation and LMX. Second, the learning orientation has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction. Third, the LMX has been shown to have a positive effect on job satisfaction.
