대기오염으로 교란된 여천공단 주변 소나무군락의 재생 (Regeneration of Pinus densiflora Commuity around that Yeocheon Industrial Complex Disturbed by Air Pollution)

  • Stands profiles, yearly changes in growth of annual rings, age and diameter structure, and spatial distribution pattern of individuals in the Pinus densiflora stands around the Yeocheon industrial complex were investigated. Growth of annual ring in Pinus densiflora, which survived when vegetation of this area was damaged by air pollutants, was suppressed for about 10 years since 1974 when factories in this area began to operate, but since then such suppressed growth tended to be recovered. It was supposed that the suppresed growth was originated from air pollution and that improvement of growth since the suppressed period was due to the release from competition with them by death of neighbouring trees and the resuction of the amount of air pollutants. Physiognomy of Pinus densiflora stands showed mosaic pattern composed of different patches. Spatial distribution pattern of individuals an stand profiles were similar to those of Pinus densiflora stands regenerated after natural and artificial disturbances. In an age distribution diagram, age of Pinus densiflora population ranged from 1 to 33 years, Among these individuals were recrited corresponded to the suppresed period of growth of annual ring in Pinus densiflora survived when the vegetation was damaged by air pollution. On the other hand, from the result of analysis of frequency distribution diagram of diameter, it was postulated that even if whis Pinus densiflora community can be maintained as it is for the time being, it might be changed to Quercus community with the lapse of time.

  • 본 논문은 부남호 부근에 대형 콘도를 지을 때 콘도에서 나오는 오폐수가 천수만 가두리 양식장 등에 영향을 미치는가에 관한 것이다. 대표적으로 COD를 모사하였으며, 다른 인자는 수치에 비례하여 예측할 수 있다. 조류의 이동 경로는 평균적으로 방류지점으로부터 서쪽을 향하게 되어 이곳은 가두리 양식장이 없기 때문에 비교적 안전하며, 바닷물이 정지한 상태를 가정하여 모의한 결과 매우 천천히 확산되는 것을 보았지만, 바람 등에 의한 흐름이 있을 경우는 오염물질의 확산을 촉진하여 쉽게 희석되기 때문에 오염물질에 의한 피해의 위험은 크지 않을 것으로 판단된다.

Effects of Heavy Metals Pollution in Soil and Plant in the Industrial Area, West ALGERIA

  • Alzinc is a ursine situated in the Ghazaouet town western part of the republic of Algeria. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of contamination which soil and plants are burdened with some heavy metals: Pb, Zn, Ni, Cu, Cd, Mn, Cr, Fe and As, then the accumulation of heavy metals in the soil and plant adjacent of area the alzinc ursine was detected and the interdependence of pollution among all three regions of the environment determined. This paper analyzes the heavy metal contents within a 2-years period in the soil and plants at the beginning of the vegetation period. The presence of Pb, Zn, Ni, Cu, Cd, Mn, Cr, Fe and As, in the samples were analyzed using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES). Measurements of heavy metal contents were performed at three locations in soil and vegetative parts of three-plant types (plant alimentary) period during summer. The plant samples from the immediate environment of the dumpsite were highly contaminated with Zn, Cd and Mn. Three plants species: grape, artichoke and pepper, particularly, grape met some of the conditions to be classified as accumulators for Zn, Cu, Cd and Fe, consequently, she revealed a health risk for human and livestock due to the spread of the metal pollution from waste dumpsites to agricultural areas.

서산 부남호 수문을 통한 오염물질 확산 모델링 (Computer Simulation of Water Pollution by Opening the Water Gate of Bunam Lake in Seosan City.)

  • 본 논문은 호수 바닥이 오염된 서산 부남호의 수문을 개방했을 때 예상되는 오염물질의 확산에 관한 것으로 토사 부유물의 확산과 오염물질의 확산으로 나누어 모사하였다. 부남호의 수문을 열었던 예를 기준으로 극한 상황의 몇 가지 각본을 가지고 컴퓨터 모사를 한 결과 방수량 100톤/s를 기준으로 부유물은 50ppm의 농도로 3시간 방류하면 19시간 후 원상태로 회복되며, 극단적인 COD 8인 상태로 1시간 방류하다 중단하면 천수만에 위치한 가두리 양식장에 지장이 없음을 알았다.

울산지역 대기오염 공간분포 (Spatial Distribution of Air Pollution in the Ulsan Metropolitan Region)

  • The spatial air pollution distribution of the Ulsan metropolitan region (UMR) was analyzed using monitoring data and high-resolution numerical simulations. A three-year (2011~2014) analysis for the average concentrations from the 13 air quality monitoring sites in the UMR showed that $SO_2$ and $PM_{10}$ levels in industrial regions were much higher than those in other regions, whereas spatial differences of $NO_2$ and CO concentrations were not significant. In particular, elevated $O_3$ concentrations were clearly found at urban sites near petrochemical complex area. Results from high-resolution simulations by CMAQ model performed for four months of 2012 showed large spatial variations in grid-average pollutant concentrations between industrial areas and other areas in the UMR, which displayed significant changes with wind pattern by season. It was noted that the increases of $SO_2$ and $PM_{10}$ levels were limited in costal industrial areas or over the area nearby the sea in all seasons. Modeled $O_3$ concentrations were quite low in industrial areas and main urban roads with large $NO_x$ emissions. However, the model presented that all pollutant concentrations were significantly increased in the urban residential areas near the industrial complexes in summer season with increase of southerly wind.

애자표면의 오손물 누적에 관한 메커니즘 연구 (A Study on Mechanism about Contaminant Accumulation of Insulator Surface)

  • We studied a pollution mechanism for simulation of contamination environment in industrial concentrated area of around a metropolitan that made to circulated flow in the chamber. In case of the virgin both side of EPDM or Silicon insulator, we confirmed that the pollution to much more than service insulator in the field. Also contamination of initial state of the virgin didn't falling in spite of physical outside factor easily. This study confirmed to that the silicon was too much accumulated pollution contrast to EPDM insulator from scatter(spray) point to regular interval position use the Kaolin contaminant in the chamber. There are effected to the hydrophobicity of polymer insulator due to the pollution. In ceramic insulator, we get to know that pollution is much more at the Post insulator with vertical than with horizontal setup insulator.

環境情報管理 系(EIMS)를 이용한 대기오염 피해분석방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Air Pollution Impact Analysis Using the Environmental Information Management System)

  • The degree of air pollution is usually presented in terms of concentration. But, in evaluating the environmental impacts or air pollution control policies, the concentration values need to be interpreted in terms of damage effects on property and human health. The damage effect varies with the types of pollution, subjects and land use pattern of an affected area. Therefore, this study is aimed at developing a method of analyzing effects of various types of air pollutions on surrounding environmental setting with the EIMS (Environmental Information Management System) developed for land suitability analysis. Using the method formulated in this study, the long- term effects of such pollutants as $SO_2$ and HF on types of vegetation and residents, and potential, short-term effects of HCl leak accidents from manufacturing facilities in Ulsan and Onsan Industrial complex are analyzed. The presentation of the damage effects of air pollution rather than the concentration of pollutants will be useful for the preparation of environmental impact statements, the formulation of environmental policies, and the development of land use plans in heavily industrialized areas.

  • Environmental pollution is continuously increasing with the economic growth and industrial development. With this trend, soil and groundwater pollution problem has been surfaced as important social issues. Recently, Korean government promulgated the Soil Environment Conservation Act. But there are many problems to control sound soil quality management. Anthropogenic source of pollution such as waste landfill, pesticides, fertilizer, underground storage oil tanks is important as well as natural source such as acid rain and forest fire. The regulation should be expanded to include groundwater preservation as well as soil quality, because soil pollution is closely related to groundwater pollution. Therefore, legal regulations must be expanded to these facilities and take into account technical feasibility and finance.

Satellite monitoring of large-scale air pollution in East Asia

  • The detection of sandstorms and industrial pollutants has been the emphasis of this study. Data obtained from meteorological satellites, NOAA and GMS, have been used for detailed analysis. MODIS and Landsat images are also used for the application of future KOMPSAT- 2. Verification of satellite observations has been made with air pollution data obtained by ground-level monitors. It was found that satellite measurements agree well with concentrations and variations of air pollutants measured on the ground, and that satellite technique is a very useful device for monitoring large-scale air pollution in East Asia. The quantitative analysis of satellite image data on air pollution is the goal in the future studies.
