A Study on 3D Road Extraction From Three Linear Scanner

  • The extraction of 3D road network from high-resolution aerial images is still one of the current challenges in digital photogrammetry and computer vision. For many years, there are many researcher groups working for this task, but unt il now, there are no papers for doing this with TLS (Three linear scanner), which has been developed for the past several years, and has very high-resolution (about 3 cm in ground resolution). In this paper, we present a methodology of road extraction from high-resolution digital imagery taken over urban areas using this modern photogrammetry’s scanner (TLS). The key features of the approach are: (1) Because of high resolution of TLS image, our extraction method is especially designed for constructing 3D road map for next -generation digital navigation map; (2) for extracting road, we use the global context of the intensity variations associated with different features of road (i.e. zebra line and center line), prior to any local edge. So extraction can become comparatively easy, because we can use different special edge detector according different features. The results achieved with our approach show that it is possible and economic to extract 3D road data from Three Linear Scanner to construct next -generation digital navigation road map.

시설물 데이타베이스에 의한 도로대장관리 (Management Of Road Ledger Using Facility Database)

  • 본 연구는 교통안전표지판의 효과적인 관리기법에 관한 연구이다. 도로대장은 도로의 재산을 관리하고 도로의 지상, 지하시설물의 위치, 규격, 재질 등의 현황을 고사함과 동시에 이를 활용하여 도로의 장기건설, 보수 및 투자계획 등을 수립하는데 사용된다. 항공사진을 이용한 데이타베이스를 구축하기 위해 기준점측량과 항공사진 측량이 수행되어야 한다. 촬영결과를 세부도화하고, 관리조사 결과를 이용하여 편집도를 자성한다. 또한, 도로점용물 조사와 함께 지하매설물도와 도로종합현황 평면도를 작성한다. 본 연구는 산업도로가 위치한 금정구 일대를 모델지역으로 선정하였다. 이 일대에는 약 7,000여개의 신호등과 교통안전표지판이 있으므로 과학적이고 효과적인 도로대장관리를 위해서는 시설물 데이터베이스 의한 통계적인 운영을 통해서 가능하다. ARC/INFO의 기본환경에서 SML을 이용하여 효과적인 도로대장관리를 할 수 있었다.

  • The electronic distance measurement instrument, first introduced in the 1950s has, since those early days, undergone continual refinement. Rapid advances in related technologies have provided lighter, smaller and more precise equipment. Understanding for the principle, the standardized observation technique and the precision of EDM instrument is mostly important to improve the quality and the reliability of by-product in the field of engineering and industrial surveying. Simple and accurate calibration is regularly and periodically necessary to maintenance the precision of EDM instrument. This paper describes the calculated example of zero error and scale error as a correction of EDM by applying the least square method to baseline observations. Here we deals also with the testing criteria for precision instrument testing according to different types of EDM instruments.

  • This study analyzes interrelationship with air pollution quality and land use patterns using GIS. The relationship can be obtained via three steps: (1) making out air pollution map from air pollution information of study area, (2) dividing land use patterns into residential area, commercial area, industrial area, traffic concentrated area, and non-polluted area, and (3) spatial overlaying analysis of GIS. Moreover, through analyzing air pollution quality by land use patterns, pollution sources can be identified. The results also coincide with the characteristics of conventional air pollution finding. More detailed analyses using articulated on site air pollution quality measurement databases are needed to correctly identify the pollution sources through finding interrelationship with land use patterns and air pollution Quality using GIS. The developed method can help trace the path of pollution sources and plan urban land use projects.

  • The calculation of earthwork plays a major role in plan or design of many civil engineering projects, and thus it has become very important to improve the accuracy of earthwork calculation. In this paper, we propose an algorithm of finding a cubic spline surface with the free boundary conditions, which interpolates the given three dimensional data, by using B-spline and an accurate method to estimate pit-excavation volume. The proposed method should be of interest to surveyors especially concerned with accuracy of volume computations. We present some computational results showing that our proposed method provides good accuracy.

  • For grouping the direction of improvement in the survey industry of Korea Standard Industry Classification, watching for internal survey industry, It has a purpose to present the direction of improvement. On the based of UN International Standard industrial classification, survey industry classification of KSIC has not been focused at the special quality of survey industry which is growing fast. Standard Industry Classification of foreign survey has rapidly adapting to survey industry development as detailed and specialized on purpose. thus, Korea's survey KSIC is in urgency to specialize and detail at the field of survey industry as well.

  • The latest system of GIS has been changing from 2 dimension to 3 dimension. According to the rapid growth of the fields linked to 3D GIS, 3D GIS has variously affected the public field, the national defense field, and the industrial field. This study estimated sight distance safety of curve section considering the environmental impact based on 3D GIS. Sight distance is calculated from the relation between road which keeps the three-dimension character and driver gaze, so it needs to consider both plane and vertical ior the accurate measuring. This study made analysis of the sight distance through considering the environmental impact with driving simulation of design speed 80km/h and running speed 60-120km/h.

  • As NGIS project has been implemented in 1995 and effectiveness of spatial information increased, Digital maps serve several purpose in administrative, living, and industrial fields. But, Digital maps have many differences with real world information and difficulties in application of managing urban facilities due to high update cost and long generation period. In this study, We suggest methodology to update a building layer of digital map in urban area as regenerating a building layer by detection of changed buildings in the existing digital map anf extraction using LIDAR data and Aerial images, more easier to acquire data and available to guarantee accuracy. Experimental results are expected to applied for constructing 3D urban model in a broad expensive urban area.

  • The purpose of this study lies in presenting a methodology to estimate the amount of water to be used in the future by grasping the state of water use in real time based on a statistical analysis using water unit factor application of urban water demand of existing housing, education facilities, and industrial water as well as sensing data by water type. The results of the study would provide in real time the state of water use per water type and the amount of water to be consumed in the future in order to provide basic data for decision-making when planning and managing water facilities based on GIS at times water lacks.

GPR의 매설물 검출능력 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Detachability Measurement to Buried Target of GPR)

  • 최근 산업의 발달로 도시가 확장되고 건설현장이 대형화됨에 따라 지하 시설물에 대한 정보가 필수적이다. 이 논문에서는 730 MHz 의 고정 주파수를 방사하는 3소자 안테나 방식의 GPR을 이용하여 자체 제작한 시험장 속에 매설된 다양한 시험편의 검출능력을 조사하였다. 여러 가지 상황에 대한 검출능력을 알아보기 위하여 매설물의 재질, 크기, 매설 깊이에 차이를 두어 실험을 수행하였다. 레이다파의 전파속도를 조절하여, B-scan상의 쌍곡선 패턴의 위치를 실제 매설한 깊이에 정확하게 일치하도록 함으로써 실험결과로부터 얻은 지반에서의 레이다파의 전파속도가 기존 자료와 유사함을 확인하였다.
