It is very important to clarify the 3-D angular flow characteristics of in-cylinder bulk motion in the developing process of variable induction system. In-cylinder flow induced by variable induction system is very complex, so we can not describe the in-cylinder bulk flow characteristics using the conventional swirl or tumble coefficient. In this study, we introduced the new 3-D angular flow index, angular flow coefficient($N_B$), for in-cylinder bulk flow characteristics. And also, to confirm the index, we carried out the steady flow rig test for intake port of test engine varying valve lift on the test matrix.

In designing a resonant circuit of the inverter which puts induction heating with high frequency to the load, an inductance L of the circuit, the coupling coefficient of a transformer transfering the output power to load, and the coupling coefficient of load circuit heating with coil affect to the output power of a resonant circuit, the circuit Q and the frequency. Those characteristics of the circuit are analyzed through Thevenan's equivalent circuit of the coupling coefficient type which is derived from the T-type equivalent circuit of a transformer. On this equivalent circuit, the impedance of a transformer referred to its primary side is not only proportional the square of turn ratio, nZ, but also the square of coupling coefficient, K2 This paper proposed a more accurate fundamental method to design a resonant circuit of the inverter by using the Thevenan's equivalent circuit.
There are three methods to examine import structures : 1) look at import coefficient, 2) import dependency, and 3) composition ratio of imported products. Therefore, this study analyses the import structure of Korea using the three methods above and when final demand occurs on produced goods and services in each industrial section, it divides import induction coefficients that indicate size of induced import directly and indirectly into consumption, investment and export to identify the effect of export on import induction.

Induction motors play a vital role in aeronautical and automotive industries so that many researchers have studied on developing a fault detection and classification system of an induction motor to minimize economical damage caused by its fault. With this reason, this paper extracts robust feature vectors from the normal/abnormal vibration signals of the induction motor in noise circumstance: partial autocorrelation (PARCOR) coefficient, log spectrum powers (LSP), cepstrum coefficients mean (CCM), and mel-frequency cepstrum coefficient (MFCC). Then, we classified different types of faults of the induction motor by using the extracted feature vectors as inputs of a neural network. To find optimal feature vectors, this paper evaluated classification performance with 2 to 20 different feature vectors. Experimental results showed that five to six features were good enough to give almost 100% classification accuracy except features by CCM. Furthermore, we considered that vibration signals could include noise components caused by surroundings. Thus, we added white Gaussian noise to original vibration signals, and then evaluated classification performance. The evaluation results yielded that LSP was the most robust in noise circumstance, then PARCOR and MFCC followed by LSP, respectively.
This study is trying to analyze the economic effect of replacing thermal power generation, one of the government's carbon-neutral policies, with new and renewable energy. For this analysis, scenario A is set to replace 100% of thermal power generation with new and renewable energy, and scenario B is set to replace 60% of thermal power generation with new and renewable energy. In addition, costs are incurred when replacing thermal power generation with new and renewable energy, and scenario 1 is the same cost as the current cost, and scenario 2 is120% higher than the current cost. Therefore, when converting thermal power generation to new and renewable energy, the scenarios are largely organized into four cases. In the case of replacing thermal power generation with new and renewable energy, the production inducement coefficient of thermal power generation decreased from the current level regardless of the scenario. However, the value-added inducement coefficient and the greenhouse gas emission inducement coefficient are lower than the current level when thermal power is converted to renewable energy by 100%, while the value-added inducement coefficient and greenhouse gas emission inducement coefficient are higher than the current level. In addition, the greenhouse gas emission induction coefficient of most industries was found to decrease, while the production induction coefficient and the value-added induction coefficient increased. Scenario A seems appropriate because the purpose of the government's policy is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by converting thermal power into new and renewable energy. However, as a result of this, the production inducement coefficient and value-added inducement coefficient of some industries decrease, so the government's support policy is needed to solve this problem
The battery system of an electric vehicle suffers from the problem the battery output and the service life decrease at low temperature. A Positive Temperature Coefficient(PTC) heater is used for maintaining room temperature but is heavy due to a complicated insulation structure. The larger the weight is, the lower the fuel economy of the electric vehicle is. On the other hand a induction heater have a simple insulation structure, which is effective in weight reduction and has a rapid temperature rise. The induction heater consists of an LC resonance circuit. The larger the capacitance is, the higher the price and weight is. Therefore, the inductance should be increased to reduce the capacitance. Also, the main heat source of the induction heater is coreloss. So, it is important to optimize inductance and coreloss in terms of electromagnetic field design. In this paper, the inductance and the coreloss according to the change of the induction heater structure were optimized through the Taguchi method and Finite Element Method(FEM) simulation.
Recently, the demand for the development of high quality and high-speed laser printers and efficient power utilization has required. Among complicated electro-mechanic devices in laser printers, the toner-fusing unit consumes above 90[%] of all electrical energy needed for printing devices. Therefore, the development of a more effective energy-saving toner fusing process becomes a significant task in great demand. Generally, there are several ways to implement a fusing unit. Among them this paper presents a new induction heating method. The proposed induction heating method enables the increase of coupling coefficient between heating coil and heat roller which also increases total energy transfer efficiency. Therefore, the proposed IH (Induction Heating) inverter system provides very fast W.U.T. (Warm UP Time) as well as higher efficiency. Through experimental results, the proposed control system is verified.
In electric motor coaches, when the adhesion force coefficient between rail and driving wheel decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. The characteristics of adhesion force coefficient is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheels, such as moisture, dust, and oil on the rails and so on. This paper proposes the vector control structure for the improved re-adhesion control with paralleled control of induction motors under the sudden variation of the adhesion force coefficient.

The end winding is an important part in induction motor for thermal analysis. But there is little information on the heat transfer coefficient of that surfaces because of geometrical complexity. So our experimental object is to know the heat transfer coefficient of end winding and find the optimum design parameter of rotor fan. Carbon coated papers were used for a uniform heat generating surfaces which were easy to fabricate. The experiments of some parameters were performed as varying rotation speed of rotor fan. We obtained the local and average Nusselt number of the end winding surfaces by correcting radiation and conduction losses errors. The results showed that the average Nusselt number increased with rotor fan blade number and width but decreased with end winding length. However, the increasing limits existed in the case of rotor fan width and blade number. So optimum design value were obtained for rotor fan width and blade numbers.
Binary skutterudite $CoSb_3$ compounds were prepared by the encapsulated induction melting (EIM) process, and their thermoelectric, microstructural and mechanical properties were examined. Single-phase ${\delta}-CoSb_3$ was successfully produced by the EIM and subsequent heat treatment at 773 K-873 K for 24 hours in vacuum. Seebeck coefficient increased with increasing heat treatment temperature up to 673 K, showing the positive signs in the range of measuring temperature. However, the samples heat-treated at 773 K-873 K showed negative Seebeck coefficient from room temperature to 400 K, while it showed positive signs above 400 K. Electrical resistivity decreased with increasing temperature, showing typical semiconducting conductivity. Thermal conductivity decreased drastically with increasing heat-treatment temperature. This is closely related with the phase transition to ${\delta}-CoSb_3$.
