Purpose : A method to estimate a real k-space trajectory based on a circuit model of the gradient system is proposed for spiral imaging. The estimated k-space trajectory instead of the ideal trajectory is used in the reconstruction to improve the image quality in the spiral imaging. Materials and Methods : Since the gradient system has self resistance, capacitance, and inductance, as well as the mutual inductance between the magnet and the gradient coils, the generated gradient fields have delays and transient responses compared to the input waveform to the gradient system. The real gradient fields and their trajectory in k-space play an important role in the reconstruction. In this paper, the gradient system is modeled with R-L-C circuits, and real gradient fields are estimated from the input to the model. An experimental method to determine the model parameters (R, L, C values) is also suggested from the quality of the reconstructed image. Results : The gradient fields are estimated from the circuit model of the gradient system at 1.5 Tesla MRI system. The spiral trajectory obtained by the integration of the estimated gradient fields is used for the reconstruction. From experiments, the reconstructed images using the estimated trajectory show improved uniformity, reduced overshoots near the edges, and enhanced resolutions compared to those using the ideal trajectory without model. Conclusion : The gradient system was successfully modeled by the R-L-C circuits. Much improved reconstruction was achieved in the spiral imaging using the trajectory estimated by the proposed model.

This paper proposes a design of the three-parallel converter system and grid-connection technique for a PMSG based wind turbine systems. The back-to-back converter of the PMSG based wind turbine system is directly connected to the grid so that both the power devices and the filters are needed to have large power ratings. The three-parallel converter configuration can reduce the required power ratings of the devices and filters. However, the three-parallel converter can cause circulating currents. These circulating currents can be suppressed by sellecting proper inner inductance at each leg. An LCL filter design is used to meet the THD regulations. The latent resonance caused by the LCL filter is compensated by an active damping method without additional loss. The decline of the power quality caused by the unbalanced and distorted grid voltages is also compensated with an additional compensation algorithm. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed system and compensation methods are effective for the wind turbine systems.
The back-to-back HVDC asynchronous grid interconnect technology has problems of high harmonic generation, high cost, and low scalability. To solve this problem, research on asynchronous grid interconnect technology using VFT is actively being conducted. However, the reactive power due to the inductance component of the VFT is generated, and the problem of additional installation of the reactive power compensating facility is inevitably generated. Therefore, in this paper, we aim to solve the reactive power compensation problem of existing VFT by designing rectifier AC-DC converter, which is an essential element of the asynchronous grid connection system using VFT, to compensate reactive power as well as active power supply. The performance was verified through simulation.
To insure stable operation and eliminate twice torque ripple, a topology for a six phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (SP-PMSG) with a neutral point connected together was analyzed in this paper. By adopting an extended transformation matrix, the mathematic model of the space vector control was established. The voltage and torque equations were deduced while considering the third harmonic flux and inductance. In addition, the suppression third harmonic method and the closed loop control strategy were proposed. A comparison analysis indicates that the cooper loss minimum method and the current magnitude minimum method can meet different application requirements. The voltage compensation amount for each of the methods was deduced which also takes into account the third harmonic effect. A simulation and experimental result comparison validates the consistency through theoretical derivation. It can be seen that all of the two control strategies can meet the requirements of post-fault.

This paper analyzes complex vector current control for the enhanced cross-coupling compensation in accordance with parameter variation in grid-connected inverter system, and verifies through simulation and experiment. Complex vector current control is performed in the synchronous reference frame through d-q transformation. It generates cross-coupling components with rotating nominal angular frequency. In general, cross-coupling elements are compensated by decoupling terms added to output of conventional decoupling PI controller. But, it is impossible to compensate them perfectly which transient response is especially deteriorated such as large overshoot and slow tracking, when variation of grid impedance or measurement error occurs. However, complex vector current control can improve stability and response characteristic of current control regardless of the situation as before. Decoupling controller and complex vector controller are represented through complex forms, and these controllers are analyzed by using frequency response in s-domain, respectively. It is verified that complex vector controller has more superior response characteristic than decoupling controller through MATALB, PSIM and experimental in 5kW grid-connected inverter when L filter parameter is varied from 1.1mH to increase double, 2.2mH.
Coupling capacitor voltage transformers (CCVT) are widely used in high voltage power systems to obtain standard low voltage signal for protective relaying and measuring instruments. To obtain high accuracy, capacitances and inductances are tuned to the power system frequency, making a parallel resonant circuit. When no fault occurs, no distortion of the secondary voltage is generated. However, when a fault occurs, harmonics generated break the resonance between capacitances and inductance, which generates the distortion of the secondary voltage. This paper proposes an algorithm for compensating the secondary voltage of the CCVT. With the values of the secondary voltage of the CCVT, the secondary currents, the primary currents and the voltages across the capacitors and inductor are calculated. Test results indicate that the proposed algorithm can compensate the distorted secondary voltage of the CCVT, and is irrespective of the fault distance, the fault inception angle and the burden.
This paper proposes that an inverse class-E amplifier is used a tunable parallel resonator at output port in order to maintain a high power-added efficiency(PAE) and output power with wide frequency ranges. A tunable circuit has a constant Q factor at operating frequency ranges and because of using varactor diode, the inductor and capacitor values of resonator can be changed. Also, the inductance value for zero-current switching (ZCS) is implemented a lumped element and the capacitance value is made a distributed element for phase compensation. The inverse class E amplifier using tunable parallel resonator is obtained to deliver 25dBm output power and achieve maximum power added efficiency(PAE) of 75% at 65-120MHz frequency ranges.
In order to decrease the parameter sensitivity of deadbeat direct torque control (DB-DTC), an improved deadbeat direct torque control method for surface mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drives is proposed. First, the track errors of the stator flux and torque that are caused by model parameter mismatch are analyzed. Then a sliding mode observer is designed, which is able to predict the d-q axis currents of the next control period for one-step delay compensation, and to simultaneously estimate the model parameter disturbance. The estimated disturbance of this observer is used to estimate the stator resistance offline. Then the estimated resistance is required to update the designed sliding-mode observer, which can be used to estimate the inductance and permanent-magnetic flux linkage online. In addition, the flux and torque estimation of the next control period, which is unaffected by the model parameter disturbance, is achieved by using predictive d-q axis currents and estimated parameters. Hence, a low parameter sensitivity DB-DTC method is developed. Simulation and experimental results show the validity of the proposed direct control method.
The demand of a three phase PWM inverter for the purpose of power control or grid-connecting is increasing. This inverter is connected to a grid through an L-filter or LCL-filter to reduce the harmonics caused by switching. An LCL-filter can reduce the harmonic of a low switching frequency and generate a satisfactory level of grid side current with a relatively low-inductance than an L-filter. But the additional poles caused by the LC part affects a stability problem due to induced resonance of the system. This paper presents a compensation method using a power theory to improve performance, the designed LCL-filter system and to reduce the stability problems caused by resonance. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulations.

The superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) plays a role in compensating the voltage sag of the sound feeder adjacent to the fault feeder as well as the fault current limiting operation of the fault feeder. Especially, the SFCL using magnetic coupling of two coils with parallel connection has different voltage sag compensating and current limiting characteristics due to the winding direction and the inductance ratio of two coils. In this paper, the current limiting and the voltage sag compensating characteristics of a SFCL using magnetic coupling of parallel connected two coils were analyzed. Through the analysis on the experimental results considering the winding direction of two coils, the SFCL designed with the additive polarity winding was shown to have the higher limited fault current than the SFCL designed with the subtractive polarity winding. In addition, it could be confirmed that the higher fault current limitation of the SFCL could be contributed to the higher load voltage sag compensation.
