In this paper, we propose an interworking architecture for building indoor air quality monitoring server (BEMS) using IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things). The proposed monitoring server adopts IIoT-based standard protocol so that interaction with BEMS installed in existing buildings can be performed easily. It can effectively communicate with indoor air quality measurement sensor installed in the building based on IIoT, Indoor air quality monitoring is possible. We implemented a proposed monitoring server, and confirmed the availability and monitoring of data from sensors in the building.

Indoor air quality is an important determinant of human health and comfort. However, the complexity of pollution sources and the multitude of parties responsible for creating indoor exposures makes the improvement of air quality difficult. The HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) system is important facility to provide comfortable environment passenger service. The Ministry of Environment is established "Indoor Air Quality Management guidelines in Public Facilities"in December 2006. Hereupon, the train and the subway are included. In this research air quality in the Subway compartment has been measured. As a result, the concentrations of PM10 and $CO_2$ were reached to 93% and 61% of the regulation values, respectively. Thus, the indoor air qualities of subway have been proved that they satisfy the recommended guidelines by the Ministry of Environment.
With ever increasing number of citizen using subway stations everyday, safety, health and comfort of passengers and occupants (mostly metro personnel) have become important social issues. Considering the fact that various physical variables and pollutants such as particulate, VOCs and biological agents are closely related to indoor air quality (IAQ) which may cause health problems, a method of quantitative assessment using information-theoretic measure on such variables needs to be devised and implemented for comfort, health and safety of passengers and occupants in the subway station. A basic framework for assessing indoor air quality (for comfort and health) and safety in subway station is suggested. In particular, application of information-theoretic measure for the assessment of indoor air quality, comfort and safety in subway station is discussed. Some examples are presented as well.
The senior citizens population and welfare institution for them is increased. The senior citizens in welfare institution spend a long time in indoor and their health is greatly affected by the indoor environment. Therefore, the indoor environment of senior citizens welfare institution is very important. This study presents some primary data based on the survey of architectural conditions and the measurements of indoor air quality for senior citizens welfare institution. According to characteristic of region, six of Incheon Area's senior citizens public welfare institution are selected. An investigation and analysis into architectural conditions and indoor air quality including temperature, humidity, CO, $CO_2$, PM10, HCHO, TVOC are conducted. The temperature, humidity and $CO_2$ concentration is some high. The HCHO concentration is very high. The indoor flooring and furniture materials highly impacts on the concentration of HCHO and TVOC.

Indoor air quality models are useful to predict indoor air pollutant concentrations as a function of several indoor factors. Indoor air quality model was developed to evaluate the pollutant removal efficiency of variable-air-volume/bypass filtration system (VAV/BPFS) compared with the conventional variable-air-volume (VAV) system. This model provides relative pollutant removal effectiveness of VAV/BPFS by concentration ratio between the conventional VAV system and VAV/BPFS. The predictions agree closely, from 5 to 10 percent, with the measured values for each energy load. As a results, we recommend the VAV/BPFS is a promising alternative to conventional VAV system because it is capable of reducing indoor air pollutant concentration and maintaining good indoor air quality.
Poor indoor air quality is now worldwide concern due to its adverse impacts on our health and environment. Moreover, these impacts carry a significant burden to the economy. Various technical approaches (e.g., biological, activated carbon fiber (ACF), photocatlytic oxidation (PCO), etc.) have gained popularity in controlling indoor volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This is because removing indoor VOC sources or increasing ventilation rates is often not feasible or economical. This review provides an overview of the various air purification technologies used widely to improve indoor air quality. Although most of these technologies are very useful to remove indoor VOCs, there is no single fully satisfactory method due to their diversity and presence at the low concentration. To achieve technical innovations and the development of specific testing protocols, one should possess a better knowledge on the mechanisms of substrate uptake at VOC concentrations.

The indoor air quality of modern people who work indoors more than 80 percent a day has also become a very important factor in their lives. But most indoor air quality is highly polluted due to energy conservation and lack of ventilation. This can lead to pneumonia, asthma and even lung cancer, which can be fatal to children, the elderly and the elderly. Indoor pollutants are caused by boards, wallpaper, paint, etc. used in interior By producing indoor finishing materials using active alumina gel, which is used as dehumidifier, indoor pollutants will be reduced and the possibility of developing respiratory diseases and lung cancer will be reduced.
Indoor air quality is the dominant contributor to total personal exposure because most people spend a majority of their time indoors. The purposes of this study were to evaluate the alternative method for improvement of indoor air quality in house after coating titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) photocatalyst for interior part of the house using nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) multiple measurements. To evaluate the alternative method in indoor environment, daily indoor and outdoor $NO_2$ concentrations of an apartment and a detached house were daily measured for consecutive 21 days in winter and summer, respectively, Another daily 21 measurements were carried out after $TiO_2$ coating on wall paper of interior part in houses. All $NO_2$ concentrations were measured by passive filter badges. Indoor air quality models using mass balance are useful tool to quantify the relationship between indoor air pollution levels, ambient concentrations, and explanatory variables. Using a mass balance model and linear regression analysis, penetration factor (ventilation rate divided by sum of ventilation rate and decay rate) and source strength factor (emission rate divided by sum of ventilation rate and decay rate) were calculated. Subsequently, the decay constants were estimated. In this study. magnitude of improvement of indoor air quality could be evaluated by decay constant.
Many people interested in indoor air quality monitoring since they spend a majority of their time indoors such as homes and offices. This paper proposes the effective indoor air quality monitoring system and it can gauge carbon dioxide, particulate matter and VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds) which can be harmful to humans. The proposed system is composed of three main modules which are device, web server, and mobile application. In order to evaluate the performance, we tested two cases which are candle and smoke. We monitor the condition of indoor air quality with our mobile application. Also, we developed the information graphics to compare the condition of air quality between indoor and outdoor and this mobile application improves usability.

Background and objective: Plant-based biofilter system has become a promising candidate for improving indoor air quality due to its eco-friendly and sustainable nature. However, it remains controversial whether indoor air purification using a biofilter is effective. Methods: This study used the one-group pre- and post-test design to analyze the effects of the operation of the plant-based biofilter system on indoor air quality, students' perception of indoor air quality, health effects, and subjective and objective attentiveness. Results: Results of this study show that the application of the plant-based biofilter system changed the air environment in the classroom. The operation of the plant-based biofilter system significantly decreased PM2.5 and PM10 and slightly increased temperature and humidity. Satisfaction with air quality and subjective attentiveness were significantly improved but objective attentiveness and health effects were not improved. Conclusion: Further studies need to be conducted for improving indoor air quality of schools and evaluating the health effects and attention of occupants to present the objective performance of the plant-based biofilter system.
